  1. I've tried other Greek yogurts, but I must say Chobani is my favorite. It's a much smoother texture than others I've tried (which I've discovered to be gritty feeling).
  2. Wow fluffy, if your insurance co was taken for a ride, mine was downright swindled! $50,000 here!!!
  3. I was sleeved on 3/12, I just reached my 1 month slee-versary! So far I'm very happy with the results. I'm down 25 lbs! I pulled some old clothes out of my closet, and I'm down a whole pants size (from 24 to 22) and even those are baggy. I feel like I'm on cloud 9!!!!

    It Has Been A Month!

I try to keep a protein bar in my purse for instances like that. They aren't always what I want, but afterwards I'm satisfied and I get some good protein in.
  5. I had my surgery on 3/12. 0 complications, things have been well. I'm down 20 lbs, from 270, to 250. My concern is that I've been at 250 for a week now. I dropped that 20 lbs in 5 days. I was super excited by that, and now every morning when I get on the scale it flucuates between 249 and 252. Is it normal to have a plateau this early on? I'm following the diet guidelines to a T, and I've been walking way more than before. At tips or thoughts?

    Lasagna Cupcakes!

Verdict is in! Absolutely delicious! I ate half of one, my 18 month old daughter polished off a whole one and my extremely picky husband devoured them, and he can't wait for me to make them again. I highly recommend this recipe!

    Lasagna Cupcakes!

It sounds like you probably use 2 wonton wrappers per cupcake. So it's still layered like a traditional lasagna. I'll be site to follow up and report back on how they turn out

    Lasagna Cupcakes!

I'm making these for supper tonight, sooooo excited to try them, as they sound delicious!
  9. The pre op liquid diet wasn't required if we were able to lose the required weight prior to surgery. When the nutritionist was explaining it to us, she said that if the hunger was unbearable, to try eating a small amount of peanuts, or a small spoonful of natural peanut butter. Of course you'd want to check with your doctors to see if it's allowed, but that may help.

    Stalled, At 2 Weeks?

I weighed myself before bed last night, and lost a whopping 3 lbs! Stalls do happen, they're a pain, but they also break themselves (I didn't do anything different). I was appointment happy to see 246 lbs on my scale. That's a number I haven't seen in close to 6 years.

    Craving Cold ?

I used to be blah about really cold drinks, but since my surgery if my beverage isn't ice cold, I can't drink it. It's very weird and odd for me, but I'm guessing it's just what my tummy wants.
  12. I wasn't on a specific diet prior to surgery, but I was required by my insurance company to lose 5% of my weight and do 6 months of weigh ins. I placed myself on my own diet, which worked. I ate food right up until the end, and my surgery and recovery has been fantastic. I'm sure you'll do fine
  13. Also my neck and collar bone, but it will extend up into my eyes as well. It's an odd feeling, and I'm still trying to learn when I'm at the last bite vs one bite too any.
  14. As with the above people, I also didn't want my insides rerouted. I also liked the permanence of it. With the bypass, you could get it undone. I liked how most of my stomach was removed. Never to be there again.
  15. I'm wondering if anyone has tried these? I bought one for "breakfast" today, that I'll have when I wake up (I work 3rd shift). I just can't choke down the protein drinks anymore. The bar I got has 30g of protein (it's probably going to take 2+ meals to finish it). If anyone had tried them, are they actually good tasting? I'd love to find something simple, and high in protein like this that I'll actually find yummy. The flavor I purchased is creamy peanut butter crisp (I don't like chocolate, so this was the only "safe" flavor).
  16. It was actually really delicious. I could only do half, but it really didn't have much of that protein-y aftertaste. Plus it has a soft consistency, which is excellent.
  17. I love spice, and we were told to not be afraid of it. The first day I was on purees I made cream of chicken soup on top of mashed potatoes with paprika. It was amazing. My first day on soft foods we had homemade chili. I haven't had any negative reactions from eating these foods.
  18. Anyone else have weird changes after surgery? I'm (basically) 27 years old, never had an issue with pimples or acne in my teen years. In the past 2 weeks I have had pimples popping up all over my face, mainly on my chin though. Anyone else experiencing this? Funny how for years it's pounded into our brains that fried foods cause pimples, now that I've completely stopped eating all the greasy stuff and bad stuff I get pimples. Haha!
  19. What Is Your : weight before sleeve? 281 weight After Sleeve ? 249 How many weeks is your sleeve? Almost 4 weeks did you start to gain weight already ?( hope not).nope
  20. It sure is crazy how different each Dr is!! I had a heparin injection right before surgery and that was it.
  21. I also didn't have to do the pre-op liquid diet. I had to lose 5% of my weight prior to surgery, and not eat or drink past midnight the night before. I had mild nausea after the procedure was done, but that's how my body reacts to pain meds. I don't see it causing any issues.
  22. Every Dr is different. I was on liquids for 7 days, purees for 3 days, now I'm on the 6-8 week mushy diet. One thing I was taught from my teams of Dr's is to not be afraid of spice, they'll actually be our friends. First day of mushy foods my hubby made his spicy chili. It was fantastic.

    So Upset

I was sleeved on 3/12. I've been at 249 lbs since 3/23. It's fluctuated between 249 and 251. I know I'm losing inches though because I can feel it and see it in my clothes. I weighed myself yesterday morning at 249, I may weigh myself when I get home from work today and have it say 251. I wouldn't consider it actually gaining a lb, we may be retaining liquid, perhaps there is something in your sleeve that wasn't there the last time you weighed in, bloating etc... I've learned the hard way to stop watching the scale. The lbs WILL come off.
  24. I was in the same boat! I drank like crazy, swallowed my pills fine, was even eating jello like a champ. Then I moved on to mushies. I ate 3 bites of mashed potatoes and was unbelievably full. Once you move on to heavier foods, you'll feel that restriction, no problem.
