    Trouble With Vitamins

Try breaking it up throughout the day. This has helped me not get nauseous when I take vitamins. I take one every few hours just before I eat. Have a piece of cheese or a half of a slice of deli meet between meals to take one. It's too hard on my sleeve to take such dense vitamins And minerals at one time. It takes longer but I don't mind.

    Back To Work?

I took a month off. I was good to go by a week and a half but I took the extra time to get used to my new diet and to set up a routine. My advice is to take as much time as you can up front. You can all ways go back early if you are up to it!

    Finally Under 200

    Great work!
  6. Great question. I'm anxious to hear the responses although I think I have been dieting for so long that 1000 to 1200 calories a day sound enormous to me.

    Night Hunger?!?

I had this happen for about two weeks. It was so weird. I would just get up and drink a half of a protien shake and it would go away. It happened maybe twice a night. I does go away. I really struggled with getting in my protein and water so I think that had a lot to do with it. My body just needed that to help it recover.

    Day 17

Me too. I'm at day 30 and have not list a pound since day 16.
  12. I'm a month out and just used my handy little bmi calculater and found that I no longer classify as morbidly obese. I'm still "severely obese" but I love that the morbid no longer applies. It is such a demeaning and discouraging word. I've got 95 pounds to go and am in the middle of a stall (two weeks and counting) but I know the weight will come off. Congrats to everyone in the green and yellow zones. Best wishes to those of us in the orange and red zones! We will get there.
  13. I felt the same thing. I was so caught off guard by the pain and discomfort post surgery. I've had two laparoscopic surgeries in the past and for some reason didn't think this one would be as serious. (I actually ran into my surgeon once at the grocery store two days post op and was thoroughly scolded for being on bed rest still. What a wonderful thing Vicodin is!) However, at a month out I know I made the right decision. I needed help with weight loss and assistance with making better food decisions. I got over the pain pretty quickly and the energy comes back once you get your Vitamins and Water in. The hardest thing for a lot of us is delayed gratification because food gave us instant gratification and now it is such a process. Work through it with support and look forward to your goal.

    Muscle Milk

I liked muscle milk. It is a both thick but good. They also have a muscle milk light but I have not tried that one. They are lactose free and contain no milk. I suggest going to gnc or vitamin shoppe and buying several single protien shakes to see which you like before committing to one however. It will save you money in the long run.
  17. Tomorrow I will be one month post-op and I am returning to work. I really miss work and didn't plan on staying out an entire month but so needed the time to be used to the new eating/water/vitamin schedule. It's a lot to get used to. I still struggle with getting in my protein and liquids and worry that going back to work is going to make it worse. FYI-I am lactose intolerant since surgery so most of the shakes don't work. I did find some that are lactose free that are pretty tasty but need other options. Any ideas?

  20. Welcome! I live downtown Chicago. I'm 3 weeks out and in the middle of my first stall. Because of this forum, I know not to freak out and just stay on track. There is so much knowledge here so you are in the right place!!

    Running To The Toilet

Are you drinking dairy-based proteins? I became lactose intolerant after the surgery as a lot is sleevers. Consider that too!
  22. Was anyone offered the "less" procedure? I had my sleeve done entirely thru my belly button. Absolute no scars, staples or drainage bags. My surgeon is a genius. He said not that many doctors are offering it but if you get the chance, please do it. It sped up my healing process dramatically and I was off pain meds by end of day two. Google Dr. Rami Lutfi on YouTube and check around to see the procedure. I thought it was a bit more common but I keep reading about all the concerns of scarring. Anyone else have it this way?
