Nerves Are Starting To Kick In
Vsglass replied to atkinsoncl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Isn't this interesting. At 14 all I ate was 3 dry Cream Crackers all day and toast/jam (jelly) for dinner. Hope somebody somewhere is taking note of this pattern. ( Linkybo, what's a "Hoho"? I've heard my daughter use the word as a euphemism for part of her anatomy! Clearly not the same thing in the US as it is here in Scotland:) ) At least none of our kids will hopefully follow our pattern. They will see us eating good food, in small amounts and looking slim and healthy -

I know what you mean, it'll be good to free up the closet space as we get rid of those larger sizes one and for all!! I'm going on a family holiday to the island of Tenerife next week and come back to immediately start my pre-op diet. This will be the last holiday that I wear my sarong to the edge of the pool, stand pretending to look for my children in the pool when actually I'm waiting until the ladder is free so that I can quickly drop to sarong and get into the Water without anyone noticing. Next holiday I will be striding confidently to the poolside in my small swimming costume (my body has NEVER seen a bikini, even when I was a US 6/8 (I'm 5' 2") )! - too much pale Scottish skin on show is not a good look). Might even get a spray tan... -
Thanks for that, still trying to find my way around this site.

Nearly forgot... What have you decided to tell people? My nutritionist said that I should decide what I'm going to tell people as, because the weight loss is rapid, people will assume I'm ill! Are you telling people in advance, after the op, or not at all? -

The very best of luck to you all! It's all good. Just remember that whilst this surgery is scary if we don't do this for our health we risk an even scarier future by leaving ourselves open to all sorts of major health problems in the not too distant future. That and it'll be great being able to wear high-heeled shoes without the circulation stopping in my toes because of the weight the balls of my feet are having to support!! My date is not until April 26 so I'll be watching with great interest and joy as you shrink day by day... -
Well done you're doing so well! I have a friend who is at the 6 month stage and still had no head or physical hunger - can't weight. Joni & Ruth, you'll be leading the way in April, my date is the 26th. The very best of luck to you both. This is our second chance to get things right:) Alison x

This is going to sound like a stupid, inconsequential question but do we go into surgery without underwear on? I've become so used to sucky-in-pully-up underwear it'll be odd not wandering around in normal, matching (bliss) underwear! I'm aware that a bra will be out of the question due an incision point but wondered if I should be purchasing a celebratory pair of large "surgery" pants/knickers...

Just met up with my friend who had her sleeve op in September and is nearly 84lbs lighter. She looks and feels amazing but said she got a bit of the blues at about day 3 post-op but says it soon passed so not to worry, its not unusual. We're nearly in April. The very best of luck to all those whose ops are next week! If she's anything to go by the very best is yet to come

Hi All, just worked out how to reply!! I'm getting my surgery on 26 April here in Scotland, UK (hence my name VSGlass - only way I could remember what I'd called myself!) I go on my pre-op diet on Monday 16 April but I've been given a diet sheet to follow. Nearly there...!

Hi All. I'm new here so still finding my way round. I get banded on 26 April 2012 in Scotland and wondered how you are all getting on since your various surgery dates which were some time ago now? -
7 Weeks Since I Have Been Sleeved! Update...

Loved your post. My surgery date is 26 April here in Scotland. VSG is not really known about here, lots of celebrities have been getting the band (never appealed to me for a variety of reasons) so I've done lots of independent research. I've only just stumbled upon this site and it's wonderful to hear so many honest and inspiring stories! I wish you every success with your journey, not that you'll need it
