    Pre-Op Diet

Mine was protein shakes, greek yogurt for a total of 60 grams protein, 4 ounces of juice, 8-12 ounce of broth, unlimited sugar free jello and popsicles. This worked very well for me in 3 weeks lost 22 pounds.

    Im A May Sleever!

Glad you are doing good today too. walking has helped with the gas that was very painful but the ice packs they gave me really help as I could not come out of the anesthesia very well. Oh and they kept coming in the room to tell me to take deep breaths. But today is much better and slept better too.

Just remember to to let them know about this, they will give you something to help with the nausea and pain. They will not let you be in pain or have nausea, my nurses were very good and were there when I needed them. I was sleeved on the 3rd and I am doing very well now I had a rough first day but it did and does get better. Good luck and take care

    2 Week Pre Op Diet

Protein drinks 60 grams protein, greek yogurt 14 grams protein, 4 ounces fruit juice, low sodium broth, unlimited sugar free Jello, unlimited sugar free popsicles, Water, decaf tea or coffee. I didn't like most of the greek yogurts Fage was one I could tolerate, I would add my fruit juice to the yogurt and it tasted better that way. This worked for me and I lost 15 pounds on it.

  13. Miralax worked great for my hubby when he was going through chemo treatment and while he was on certain meds that caused the problem. I would mix itin with water and he was unable to tell it was there.
  14. My doctor told me to get stool softners and to start using them when I get home from surgery and to use gas-ex Surgery has an effect on bm's so it needs a little help.
  15. I chose the sleeve as I felt it was the safest and I did not want a foreign object in my body and have to worry about it eroding or slipping. I have a friend that had the sleeve a year ago and she has lost over 100 pounds and she looks great.

    May 2012 Sleevers Group

May 3rd is just 4 days away and counting down the days to a new me.
  20. It is probably related to the changes that are going on it will get better your body is going through a lot right now.
  21. I haven't gotten to this stage yet but a very close friend has and she has a cup of soup and maybe a small salad. Or she may order a child size meal. If that does not work then she orders a meal and takes some most of it home with her It is hard at first but you will find what works for you and so what if you take some home now you do not have to cook dinner.

This is what is on my plan: Blenderized / strained soups sugar free yogurt without fruit sugar free pudding thinned oatmeal or cream of wheat Protein powder or non fat milk powder can be added to soups day 12 replace full liquids with soft, moist, diced, ground or pureed protein foods as tolerate Pureed chicken, fish, mashed scrambled eggs, pureed baby food meats Fat free cottage cheese apple sauce or pureed baby foods fruits pureed vegetables or baby vegetables then it changes on day 28 to as tolerated be very careful on fibrous foods as they can get stuck
