Sleeve Capacity At Eight Weeks Seems More Than It Should Be
Cmullinvegas replied to Dooter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand all your feelings. You're frustrated you're not losing and scared you did something wrong to your sleeve that is/will hinder your success. First of all you are being successful so you have been working your sleeve properly. Secondly, I'm only 8 days days out so I'm not nearly as far but I can already tell how different my sleeve works depending on what I'm drinking. I'm still so thirsty and can't get enough to drink. Sometimes I'll burp after 1 or 2 oz of gatorade. Other times I can get down 3 or 4 oz in 15 minutes. I'm really working on listening to and feeling my body. You said you were hungry so your sleeve probably wanted what u gave it. Besides this meal was still smaller than anything pre-sleeve, trust in yourself, you have already been successful. -

Surgery In Less Than 24 Hours...
Cmullinvegas replied to sabrina4you's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck! We are 8 days apart. -
Willosknot-I had a cold about a week before surgery and I was still congested the day of, that was one of the questions everyone asked. "Have you had a cold in the last ten days." I said I was congested. After surgery it felt so good because the congestion was gone, it reappeared a few days later though. phatdivabbw-That is one of my fears too. The first few days I probably only got down 1/4 of my liquids. By day 3 I was doing better, my nut said to do about 4oz a half an hour. With Protein Drinks that's really all I can do because they are so thick, sports drinks and Water sometimes go down faster.

Calcium Vs. Calcium Citrate
Cmullinvegas replied to Happy Camper's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Suzcomptime how did u get a free bag of chewy bites? I just bought the BA caramel only 250 mg in one though. -
My shoulder was fine until right now.I just finished a protein drink and I feel full. Maybe this is my body's new way of telling me. It makes sense about nerve endings wheetsin. I was thinking about a "cold headache" and when that happens I feel a wave in my forehead and shoulder blades. Maybe due to those nerves, not sure but worth looking into I think.

Good luck to you. I drove my friend to Tijuana 4 years ago to get a band. I have watched her struggle since.

Day 6 and I feel 1,000 times better! I drank 63 of 64 ounces of fluid yesterday and got in 60 of 90 grams of protein. By far, the best I've done. I got in all my vitamins and medication as well. I have to get up super early to start my first shake and vitamin, this is an all day process to give my body what it needs, but consider how I am feeling today it's totally worth every second. Who's surgery is next?

Thanks ladies, I have been reading posts all morning. I found tons on the emotional issues. I have some pain on my left side and shoulder and I think I am freaking myself out. I just don't know what pain is normal and what's not. Well one of my friends just dropped off movies and magazines, so it's time to stop thinking about this for now.

2.5 Weeks Out, Is This Normal?
Cmullinvegas replied to xenus7850's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm trying to figure out what pain is normal and what is not. So I am 5 days post-op I didn't take any pain meds yesterday. This morning I took 2/3 of my pain prescription dose. If I take really big breaths my lower left side hurts, my left shoulder hurts a tad too. Yesterday the walking I did was at target, haha, but today I plan to go for a 20 min walk. My question is what pain is normal and what is not? -

What Vitamins/supplements Do You Take (Brands/types?)
Cmullinvegas replied to LoserMama's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I was just looking at the viactiv and the first ingredient is sugar! I do like the chewing, so I will probably enjoy them just for the next couple days until my bariatric advantage chewables come in. My nut said I can order those from the office and I don't have to pay shipping. So the calcium brand matters. I bought a vitafusion omega 3, vitamin d, and b12. Do these brands matter? I compared multivitamins from target to the ones from my nut and those had a huge difference. I figure I can deal with one chalky pill two times a day, but not more than that! -
Thanks atkinsoncl. This morning was rough though I woke up in pain and for some reason started crying. I'm still chugging, okay sipping, away and am almost done with my first protein drink today.

Carnie Wilson On The Today Show This Morning
Cmullinvegas replied to something2think's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Carnie is both a success story and warning story. I applaud her for going public with her weight struggles and being honest about both surgeries. Some people don't have weight problems and don't know the difficulty of weight problems, mental struggles, and surgeries, so I do appreciate her sharing. It makes me sad though that she has to have a second surgery. I have lost and gained weight so many times. I know my sleeve is just a tool and I have to do the rest, but one of my reasons for doing this was to get to my goal weight and not regain. This is all up to me though. Lisa's Hope-I think her surgeon does not undo her bypass. Her bypass pouch probably stretched so there is now enough room to make a new pouch with the lap band. I really hope this works for her. -
Are you all telling me to stop freaking out? Last night my shoulder started to hurt for the first time and it hurts now. It feels like I slept on it funny, but I sleep on my back so that's not true. I was reading on here about complications including leaks and many people had problems starting with pain in their left shoulder. Is this not a symptom?

What Vitamins/supplements Do You Take (Brands/types?)
Cmullinvegas replied to LoserMama's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
My doctor gave me tons of samples and even large bottles of bariatric advantage and celebrate. Since I have so many to take a day, there is no way I can handle the chalk taste. I'm going to order the calcium chewy bites from bariatric advantage. I went to target and got everything I need in gummy form. The brands are vitafusion. Some doses I have to double but it's still a vitamin. I also picked up viactiv for calcium. I know what my doctor recommends, but does the brand really matter? I can take all the gummies religiously I'm sure. The chalk ones, ugh yuck! -
Skin Creams Good For Tightening Skin?
Cmullinvegas replied to jenniferb's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The best creams I have heard of are Mary Kay, Nivea, and one that is sold at the mall. It's at department stores, a white bottle with red letters, sorry I can't remember the name. I did pick up a nivea firming creme at target today. It can't hurt. -
I am so thirsty, but I don't chug because I thought I couldn't. I am four days out. It is hard to get in all my fluid just sipping. mesaucedo-are you saying I can chug? I thougth I could only take about 4 oz at a time because that's what my nut said.
