When I first went to the NUT,she suggested some things to accomplish during the 6 mos. I thought I would do them all so they'd be second nature by surgery time. Let me tell you, the caffeine withdrawal was the absolute pits and the nausea lasted about a week. I really should have taken it slower.

I also made a secret facebook page. I only told my best friend, of course my hubby and kids; hubby told his brother and a girl at work who had the bypass. I think I will "tell all" once it is over. Right now, I kind of feel that it is no one's business but mine.

I think my submission for approval was fax-ed today. I went for my physical with my PCP yesterday and he ordered the EKG, Chest XRay, and H-Pylori Test; the lab took me right away. He said if the H Pylori came back positive, it would be treated before the surgeon ordered the tests anyway. He said he just wanted there to be no holdups for a surgery date once I was approved.

They have this gel "Ayr" that I use when using the CPAP. I just got a new machine, so I doubt they would get a reading from the sim card. However, they were happy with the number of hours logged with the old one. I have the nasal pillows, and for some reason, my left nostril is sore. Going to use a new pillow ( only been using this one for 3 days ). But the Ayr makes the mask soothing. I hadn't used it in almost a year and went to Wally World last night and bought a tube.

I have abdominal binder on my list of questions for the surgeon.

I just purchased their unflavored at GNC. I will try it tonight; I am really hoping it doesn't taste "yucky".

Little Miss, I live in Orlando. I am going with Dr. Kim. I love the staff in his office; just waiting now for my approval.

My daughter bought this really cute top, size XS (I can't hate her, she is my daughter) I was never a small, much less XS. Anyway I mentioned how much I liked it and now that I am going to have the surgery, I am too old to wear something like that. Today in the mail, one came for me in a Large ( my daughter got me one ). A large! Seems like I always wore a 2X. What an incentive!!

I was born and raised in Jersey City - now in Florida. The woman who bought my car was from my (Greenville) neighborhood and I sat at the table out front and we had a "reunion" of sorts.

Congratulations!!!! I just got all my paperwork re-done for submission. It is supposed to be submitted to Cigna tomorrow. I just gotta keep praying.

Lots of times. I have 2 pairs of shoes (navy & black) of the same style. One day I wore one of each. The girls at work laughed and reminded me I have a pair just like it at home.

I went to the information meeting in November. Had all requests and letters by December 1. Started my nutrition classes in Jan ( because they made my appt with the wrong person in December); completed the 6 months by the end of June. Had my psych evaluation in May. Now the office is telling me I had to have the nutrition classes within 6 months of the surgery request. WTH? Does this make sense? They were not going to request the surgery before I completed the nutrition classes. Am I supposed to complete those classes again and re-do the psych eval. I don't have a money tree to pick to do all of this again.

I think I will grab a box of tissues and commiserate with you. Good thing I am not an emotional eater; I eat when bored.

Maybe I didn't explain this right. They are now only sending the request for the surgery. I did complete my 6 classes consecutively. I wasn't told that you request first, then complete jumping through the hoops.

I would think so. You aren't really losing anything but the "water" from the plain yogurt.
