How soon after surgery can you wear a bra? I only have sports bras now; just wondering how to get one on. Can you lift your arms over your head without too much pain from incisions?

I love my Ninja. I have not had any leaking problems. I love how quickly it makes smoothies.

You are welcome, funkeechiggen. I don't know that song, but I am sure it's about boobs. Thank you, MoreganK. I have to try another Wal-Mart. Mine doesn't have Genie bras. -
I'm Trying To Not Blow Up!
joyful noise replied to barbi1281's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with billyvmom. Appeal. I am pre-diabetic and that was listed as a co-morbidity. Cigna seems to be hit or miss. I am glad to have been approved quickly, if only the surgeon's office did't drag their feet. -
Got Mybdate...10/15
joyful noise replied to Aimstergal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on the 12th. I am not so nervous as much as wanting it to be over with. My first day on total liquids, I vomited alot. Called the surgeon and said if it continued, he would change my pre-op diet. But day 2 was just fine; hungry, but fine. -

Pcp Doesn't Recommend Surgery
joyful noise replied to TaraBugz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first PCP told me I was lazy and should go and do Medifast; that the meetings were held in his office on Tues. nights. I told him I know how to lose weight, just can't keep it off. Needless to say, I got me a new PCP. -
@ms.mcbride1105 Read my post titled "Long and Winding Road" It has been long and drawn out, but I am glad it is finally happening.

joyful noise replied to Milbedil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome. I've only received 2 neg comments and I figure my health is more important than their opinions. I cannot wait until the 12th for my surgery. Got my shopping finished and am packed and ready to go. These next 3 weeks of waiting are going to go fast I keep telling myself. This is a really great place to learn and meet new friends. -
Mine is the 12th. Can't come fast enough.

Cigna- Nightmare
joyful noise replied to Pumpkinmeli's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cigna didn't really give me any problems. They just wanted a letter from my PCP, the nutritionist and the psych evaluation. It is the surgeon's office that is driving me up the wall. -
Weight Loss Surgery Books Pre And Post
joyful noise replied to Queen In Me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I liked the Weight Loss for Dummies and the cookbook as well. My favorite book, though is :"the Everything Post Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook (All you need to meet and maintain your weight loss goals)" by Jennifer Whitock. The price is 15.95, but I got mine on Amazon for 9.00. You might go to your library, take a few books out and see if you like them, before buying any. That's what I did. -
This has been my theme song since November. Today, I finally got my surgery date!!!! Oct. 12th. It's finally going to happen. What a relief. Gonna need a new theme song now.

The Long & Winding Road
joyful noise replied to joyful noise's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Cigna. The nut's office gave me an appt with the wrong person - had to wait 6 weeks for a new appt. Finished my 6 months nut sessions in June. The psych was done in May, so that was out of the way. They did not contact me til the First week in August about getting a new request from my PCP and my eval from the nut needed to be re-done ( because of the 6 weeks they took to look at my stuff to submit ). One week later, they submitted to Cigna and 3 days after that I was approved. I went to the surgeon's office the last week of August and then it got nuts. I had to get a clearance from my nephrologist. Luckily, I'd had my appointment for the day before and asked for a clearance letter, just in case. And they wanted a new clearance letter from my PCP. So, another visit to the PCP to get the new clearance. At the meeting, they tell me I need to get clearance from a pulmonologist because I have sleep apnea. I got an appt for 2 weeks ago. After that clearance, they told me I needed a clearance from a cardiologist and to get a chest x-ray ( had that done at my annual physical on 7/7, so I was one step ahead of them). Got that clearance this past Monday (17th). I no sooner get home and they tell me they want a copy of my sleep test. I, at that time, wrote a scathing email and said in effect...I think you are doing whatever you can to postpone giving me a date. Of course the administrator blames the nurse, etc. I called my PCP to tell him what is going on. I then get an email stating they received my cardiology clearance ( of course they did; I emailed it myself ) . They wanted the info about the sleep test: where done, when, what doctor and his phone number. Yesterday I get a call that they ( surgeon's office ) contacted the sleep center and they would be sending over a copy of the study to the surgeon's office. Then I get an email to call the administrator. She tells me my date is Oct. 12th; I have a 7 hr class on the 10th; have to take some online course and take the 2 tests, print them out and bring to the class and get more bloodwork ( the work done by my PCP is now over 30 days old). I should mention that every clearance (except the psych eval and the cardiac - I sent by email) all "somehow" was not received even though the fax machine is right there on her desk. So I spent time calling the dr's offices to re-fax the clearances. I think they should give you a list stating what needs to be done - at one time, so you can call that same day and get appointments. Not this one at a time garbage. I was thinking that my surgery was going to be in June, boy was I wrong! -

My Hubby Moved My Scale.....
joyful noise replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. He moved the furniture and so, the scale also got moved. I weighed myself and it said I gained 14 pounds! Today, at the dr's office, I was the same weight as I was before the scale was moved. No 14 pound weight gain. -
I am looking for a size 2 or 3X pair of yoga pants to wear home from the hospital.

I was playing around over the weekend, trying to find some uses for the Protein powder. I took 1/3 cup strong de-caf coffee, 1/3 cup almond milk, 1 scoop protein powder, 4 ice cubes. Threw it all in my Ninja and, voila, I loved it and so did the kids (they had to "test" mine first).

I am never allowed NSAIDS again. Today I have a headache from heck. Since I am allergic to Tylenol, I will just have to muddle through.
