Any Drinks That Are Not Made With Aspertaine
joyful noise replied to lowe1961's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4C is made with sucralose (splenda) as are the fruit flavored waters and Powerade SF. But, splenda is sweet too. I just decrease the amount I use. -
Caffeine can dehydrate you.

Any One-Kidneyed Folks Here?
joyful noise replied to Artichokes's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I have both kidneys, but am stage 3 kidney disease. At my last visit to the nephrologist, he said 60-80 g of Protein was ok, but to watch my Calcium. I was eating yogurt 3 times a day because the nut said it was in place of milk, but with the calcium pills, the calcium test was too high. He made me get off the yogurt until I see him in August. I probably won't be having my surgery until September, so we see what happens. -
I know we have to sip liquids. Do we ever get to drink small amounts and not sip all the time?

I was in an auto accident in '03; and still have problems with my shoulders and neck. My back - well excess weight doesn't help. I have been walking for 20 minutes a day; Richard Simmons for about 10 mins til I want to die; watched Jane Fonda (Yeah, just watched - watching makes me tired). I have been trying one pound weights and, frankly, it hurts. But I am not going to give up. I may never be as active as I was pre-accident, but I sure am going to give it a try.

Zantac Is On Sale This Week....
joyful noise replied to babyleaf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thank you! -
One of my daughters "slipped" and told a neighbor about me having the surgery. I got the usual comments and then...I'd NEVER do that. I replied that condemnation never did anyone any good. When she got hostile I said : "when i was first married, I made a sampler that was an old Indian Proverb - Let me not criticize my neighbor until I have walked a mile in her moccasins". She backed off real quick! I am not ashamed of my decision. But I refuse to let anyone else's hangups affect that decision.

Pcp Letter Of Medical Necessity
joyful noise replied to Ready4success's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon's office gave us a "Model" letter for our PCP to use. He ( I think it might be a language barrier thing) wrote on my letter gastric bypass. I have my physical due this month. I have photocopied his letter, making the changes for the sleeve. Since my last nut meeting is this month, I want everything in order, pcp letter, too. -

How Do I Raise My Vsg Plan With My Husband?
joyful noise replied to 1969lulu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been on just about every diet there is. My husband has been there all through all of that. I took him to dinner and said I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I went to an info session, taking him with me. He is my support along with my 2 adult daughters. Talk to him, hon. -
I woke up during my hysterectomy and announced that I was going to be sick. Went back to "sleep" and don't remember anything else. Later, the surgeon told me it was funny.

I went to the library yesterday and got the book "The Everything Post Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook"; it is wonderful. The first part of the book is about WLS, how to meet goals, emotional issues, exercise, wardrobes, etc. I am thinking of buying the book, I like it so much.

I went to Target and Wal Mart. They had nothing like that. I did order from old navy, tho. They are great for walking; I didn't know that!

The Easy Way Out
joyful noise replied to StrangelyNormal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People are going to believe what they want anyway. Let them stew in their own ignorance. There is nothing easy about the surgery, easy was regaining my weight and more over and over and over... -
My nut also told me no carbonation for life.

Congratulations! You are on your way.

My daughter never had a backside. She used Brazilian Beach Buns; she looks good and does not have "drop crotch" in her pants
