Hard Time Swallowing 2 Months Post Op
Jenelle1434 replied to Jenelle1434's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, it's always within the first couple bites that it happens. Usually I stop eating after it happens.... -
I have yet to have a "stuck" incident, but I do find that certain food get stuck in my throat when I swallow... almost like my throat has narrowed or something?!?! I almost feel like I cant breathe while its trying to go down. This does not happen all the time, but enough to where I am worried. I am about 7 weeks post op with 2 fills, the last being 2 days ago. Anyone else have similar issues....?

So... I have found that the old saying is true... you must EAT to LOSE. I was banded back on March 15th and got my first fill about 2.5 weeks ago. Even though I do not have much restriction still, I have been eating like I do. I was only taking in about 800-900 calories a day.....BUT I WAS LOSING NOTHING!! I figured I would TRY uping my calorie intake to see if that would help. I could not beleive the difference!!! I am now eating about 1100-1200 calories a day and I dropping weight like crazy AND im not hungry all day long. I guess I just had to see it to beleive it! What I learned: Don't be afraid to eat, just make the right choices when you do

So... I am 3 and a half weeks post op and have my first adjustment this afternoon. It is now 11:45am and my appoitment is not until 3:15pm. Can I eat lunch like normal or should I just drink something to hold me over...? Any suggestions?!?!

So this week I am officially able to come off of liquids and shmooshie foods (YEAH), but I am terrified to eat real food. I am a big salad person and would love one, but I dont want to get sick. I have not had a fill yet, but I still dont know want anything to get stuck or make me sick. How about proteins? I am dying for some chicken!! Suggestions?!?!?

I am currently 11 days post op and I am in the liquid/schmooshie diet phase. I have not had ANY problems with keeping down food since the surgery. I also do not get that full sensation really. I watch what I eat and I dont eat more then 4 oz at a time, but I thought I would have that full sensation more then I do. My first fill is in exactly 2 weeks and I am hoping things will change then. Did anyone else not have any problems with any foods at any time right after surgery....?

I am in my "schmooshie" phase and was wondering if anyone has tried anything with cheese? Think something really soft like American slices..... Any thoughts?

Liquid Diet Ideas-Help

I am exactly 8 days post op today as well. I have been a little brave with my food choices. When I REALLY need something with texture I have been eating a single saltine with a little bit of peanut butter on it. You can chew it until it is absolute mush but still gives you that "crunch" you are craving. I only will eat one though!! I have been feeling really good since about day 5 and really want to get back to eating real food, but im taking it slow. I have not been sick or had my stomach hurt at all since the surgery. I have my first fill in about 2 1/2 weeks.
