Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

No bubbly salive here but the strange noises and things that sound and feel like they are mushing around... yup have those for sure. So, I just went into the attic to get fans, I refuse to put a/c's in this early, and brought down all my smaller clothes, size 16 & 18. I forgot some of the stuff in there. SO I FIT INTO THE SIZE 18!!!!! they don't look fantastic in my belly, stupid c-section but they fit and zipped without having to lie down! I am missing my most favorite cut off shorts so I assume I might have 1 more bag of clothes up there, but they have been up there for 4 years, without a thought of even taking them down! What a great way to end the day -

that is way cool, so today was my hungriest day and I ate the most I've eaten and a much bigger variety and guess what - still only had 1093 calories and 74g of protein. i'm going to start tracking daily and compare to my weight loss and see if i can figure out what i'm doing and not doing -

so as i'm driving home today, feeling like i lost nothing for some reason, I started to think I am down 44lbs, from January, my total loss goad was 100lbs total, I am almost 1/2 way there! to think about it that way, it is kind of amazing. I had 75lbs left day of surgery and a 1/3 of the way to that goal. Why is it i get discouraged? I should be proud of myself! -

Michelle I read everything, as I know many others to, I don't know when you came into this group but I was a mess, dealing I was dealing with my mom and my childhood issues, my dbf was not interested in anything about me and I thought I was loosing him, things are tremendously better but still need work. It is a long emotional road, and honestly, I think we need to get to the root of our issues to be successful at this journey. We didn't get overweight overnight and from the sounds of it, everyone has a story of some sort. Even if it is just getting comfortable with our other 1/2 . It happens. Me personally, I love my head dr and she is the first one who is working on me and not me and dbf. Hugs, I'm so glad you decided to stay a violet! -

Laura I know exactally what you are talking about, before my son I was at the gym 6 days a week like it was my job, I was flat and very muscular but only down to 185 and because of my hips and legs in a size 16//18 but very happy with myself. Today, my 20/22 are falling off me and my 18's don't fit, and my fitted t's are now very big on me. But my 20's that are falling off, get washed and in the dryer and not a huge difference, i have them on for an hour and they are falling off. I guess the only good thing about that is in 3 years, I have never put my pants/t's in the dryer because i knew if they shrunk, I would never get them on again. LOL Stupid dryer! -

Congrats Pamela! that is fantastic. I am not quite into my old 18's comfortably but my 20's are definately big, can pull them on and off. I'm going to have my dd take a pic of me later and try to post it. I just don't know how to shrink them to make them fit. I'll put it on later or in the am. Last day of class -

Laura I was going to put this in the last post, but I just couldn't - as this deserves its own response. Your story made me cry. It was all so familiar to me. I was a small child until I was in 1st grade, which is when I started to gain weight. My dad's family are not small, but they are southern and as You know... what kind of food/life style they all grew up on, which is how I was raised in NY. Fried chicken, rice, gravy, grits....and the list goes on and on. Well in 1st grade I was old enough to know my mom was NEVER home, she took a retail management job and I never saw her, when she was home they were always fighting, and I was upstairs from their room so I heard it all. To top it off, my mom felt I needed to be in a catholic school, my teacher was so horribly mean, hitting with rulers and screaming, degrading in your face in front of everyone mean. I was degraded daily. So can you imagine why i started to plump up? Right before my surgery, my mom said she wished she had done something different to help me and never knew how horribly bad I felt about myself my entire life. She never knew her aunt (my great aunt) that lived next door use to humiliate me and tell me I was fat. Needless to say, we both cried for hours. I guess point being, it is amazing how this surgery is bringing lots of things to the surface and how close family has felt for years. Thank goodness for my head dr, I need her to get over all these things. So the other day someone asked "why are you fat" man... I guess that is my story -

Terry I don't think I'm loosing because I'm not getting enough to eat. I am getting hungrier more frequent but still can't eat a lot. Maybe that is where the 2lbs came from, I ate 4-5 times yesterday, very small amounts. The thought of eating 1000 cals a day.. OMG. but I guess eating more than 3 times a day it is possible. I had 3oz turkey burger with 2% cheese this am(didn't have time to cook, just had to heat and go) and hungry again so am going to have some chili and a yogurt. I guess it is great I can't eat a lot and am satisfied with what I have. Lets see if this kicks up the loss. -

Brenners I am the same way, I will be a month out Monday and as I am officially eating solid food this week, it is not much, when I was on mushies I was getting hungry but could only have 1/4 cup of anything. Now - month out, I can eat almost a cup of cream soup, but only 3oz of meat before being cooked. Last night for dinner i had less than 1/2 cup broccoli and a protein shake. I took a while to drink my shake and i was full. My dr said some people never need a fill... is that possible? Well I lost another 2lbs yesterday and don't know what I did that was so different, but I'll take it. Monday I start back at the gym, I would like to go back today - but I still have a ton of final assignments due by Monday, Have to put a fence around my pool (crazy dog is digging around it) and then open the pool. It has been beautiful here but it will take 2 good weeks for it to warm up once I take the cover off. So there are the disadvantages to being a single parent/homeowner, no time for me, but at least i'll be working away. LOL Have a great day everyone! Oh... don't forget, still looking for a job, can't give up on that adventure! -

Morning everyone I think I'm going to call my dr today and change my appt to a 6 week check up. I am bouncing between 235 & 236 and it is kind of frustrating. I am eating 3 small meals, 2scrambled eggs, 3/4 - 1 cup of soup and a 3oz turkey burger. I am comfortably full when I eat but not loosing. I am getting in all my water and as I have not been walking the last few days because I have so much homework to do but I have been doing yard work, yesterday I raked and mowed the front lawn on my hw break. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am so very frustrated, I am down a total of 21 inches but my clothes are not falling off me some are a little big and some fit perfectly. I would have hoped for a difference after 3 weeks, next week is officially a month. -

Kat where are you..... too far to drive i'm sure LOL so I applied for an office manager job today, who knows if i'll get it but here is the funny part... after all the office stuff, it said hair stylist / barber experience... so I forget because it is not on my resume that I have my certification in cosmetology so you better believe i applied. and $20 an hour... sounds too good to be true, i would actually be qualified so i'm up to 7 mins on the treadmill. That thing is going to kill me. I can do 45mins on my power walk but I want to get the indoor thing built up -

You guys are so sweet, I know the right job is out there, it is just so frustrating - I know the perfect job is not the depot, and i'm sure they are not going to like that I can't work thurs nights and sat nights, as I'm going to work a 2nd job perm with my step mom - it was an easy $100, a few groceries $60 in my gas and $10 to my daughter for helping. But since I didn't know how i was going to put gas in my car this week, it is worth it for the little things you don't figure in your bills -

Laura what a crazy weekend, but sounds like you had fun. I am not suppose to drink and of course you had all my favorites, including the buttery niples. I keep the stuff in my freezer so i can make whenever! So, I just spend the morning crying, didn't get the job at the railroad, but I guess at least they called. This is getting very depressing. -

Gina I know I'm driven by results as well. I gained 1lb but it is also that time of the month and I'm usually good for a 5lb weight gain. When I went from clear liquids to mushies I lost 4lbs. Maybe it is time to fully graduate to solid foods. Trying to finish up the stuff I made in bulk. I just had a 3oz turkey burger for dinner, and am amazingly full - not stuffed, just comfortable. I guess maybe I should try to increase intake and see if that helps.
