Thanks Joni. I guess I'm just having a bad day. Blah! Be so happy to have this behind me. I've been drinking protein shakes but those aren't clear liquids. Should I do 48 of Clear liquids exempting the shakes?

I'm so worried that if I cheat my liver won't shrink and my surgeon won't do the surgery! Man.. what would I give for a burger and fries right now!! Day 9 of preop.

I'm having my surgery at Des Peres Hospital on Monday. My surgeon is Dr. Follwell. My insurance won't pay because there is an exclusion. I am self pay. I had to pay the surgeon up front 6,000.00. I'm financing the rest. I'm been approved for the loan and they just have to figure out how to bill the card... lol They aren't so sure. I've been around and around with the hospital about the financing. Still not too sure how it will work. I'm waiting for them to call me for pre registration to get the rest of the details lined out. Here it is a week away and I've not heard from them. I'm kind of worried about it but trying to not think about it. I want to get this done. I'm a medical biller also. Most of these hospitals want everything up front. Sad but true!

Did he say how high is too high before freaking out?? I wonder why this surgery causes this. I've heard a few people talk about it before and couldn't believe it. Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm borderline too. I have't had my surgery yet. It's on Monday. I've been kind of worried about that because I've notice that my sugar levels aren't really going down that much since I've been on this pre op diet. No sugar or carbs what so ever. I think I would definately call your doctor. If close to 300 that could be dangerous.

I just have to say, I'M HUNGRY! This isn't easy in any way, shape, or form! I know it is necessary though to get to the other side. I keep telling myself I have a few more weeks without real food but it is worth it to get healthy. I'm still really concerned and scared and I know nothing will change that until I am a few months out and sure I won't get a leak or have complications. I wish I could just stop worrying and being anxious. I've been dreaming about surgery. Worrying about every aspect of it. I have to have a large hernia reparied and I just keep thinking, "what if my liver didn't shrink??". I haven't been very positive for anyone on this forum lately. I need to change my way of thinking and my attitude and be grateful that I'm doing this. I am a Christian and I need to put my faith in GOD and know that what happens is meant to happen. Well, thanks for letting me vent. AGAIN! Love you guys! Have a great rest of the weekend. Uggh.. I just want some food! On the up side... 10. 4 pounds in 5 days is unbelievable for me!

Wow.. everyone's seem to be cheaper than what I have to pay. 16620.00. Includes pre op and post op for a year. I will have about 500.00 more in expenses after the surgery for lab fees. I paid cash 6 thousdand and financing the rest. I hope I feel it is worth it after next monday... I'm worried since my insurance has an exclusion on the policy... won't pay for complications either. I pray I don't have any.

Again, I know how you feel!!!!! I'm 5 days in and I had a breakdown today too! 9 more days to go... ugghhhh.. It is hard!!

On day 5 of 14. Lost 8.6 pounds as of this morning. I'm so happy with the weight loss but more emotional today. I want food food food!!!! I so hate the protein shakes now. I'm tired of them. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else I can buy besides the shakes?? I've tried powder, ready made and I gag from them. Yuck! Thanks everyone. I'm so glad I found this site so I can vent. Wouldn't be able to make it without you!!

Do you feel the surgery was worth it?? My surgery date is the 21st and I'm find myself wondering if it is. Especially reading these post.
