Sleeved 5-21 And No Problems ?
Lisa's Hope replied to HondaCivicDude's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on Monday also. I still have this awful pain in the middle of my chest-stomach like cramps. I was told by others it was just gas but I'm beginning to get worried that it may be something else!! Except for that, everything else is ok. I can hear when I drink, the sound of the liquid sliding down my sleeve. It is weird!! Glad you are doing so awesome!! Congratulations:) -
Thanks girls! I'm giving myself the shots. They aren't painful but I wish I didn't have to do it!

Hi Friends, I would have posted earlier but I've had a rough time so far. I'm still not feeling well and am in a lot of pain. Day by day it gets better. I have so much pain in the middle of my chest when I swallow and even sometime is spasams even when I not sipping. I know I'm not getting enough fluid in. Any suggestions? I'm ready to get over the hard part. Thanks everyone for being here for me... I will blog my whole experience soon.

Sleeved Three Days Post Op
Lisa's Hope replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone!! I'm still in pain and not sure why. Dr. did say I had a lot of swelling. Anyone else have pain in the middle of their chest like spasms or squeezing??? Just won't go away. I feel I could get alot better if that pain would get better. -
Sleeved Three Days Post Op
Lisa's Hope replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aww thank you so much Kathy. I really can't believe how much pain I've been in. When they did the barium swallow they said I was very swollen. Not sure why It has been harder for me. Now I'm just praying I don't have a leak when the swelling goes down. I don't know what I would do with my friends on this forum. Thanks again. I will keep you posted. -
Well it is my last night of my old life. Surgery at 11:30 in the morning. I can't seem to get things ready. I still haven't even packed my bag yet. I am terrified but know what ever happens is God's will and it is out of my hands at this point. It is hard to describe how I feel today. I;m apprehensive but so ready to be on the other side. I pray that the pain isn't too bad and my surgery is uneventful. Sometimes I feel like I'm being selfish when I pray for myself. I have a strong Christian faith and I know that HE is in control not me. I'm keep holding on to that. Thanks everyone for listening to me whine about everything since my journey began. You guys rock! I'm not really one of those people that says "the glass is half full".... I'm sure you've caught on to that reading my post. I will, however, go into this surgery with a positive attitude. Thanks to this forum for helping me to this point. Tomorrow is the beginning to my my new life. Next blog will be on the other side!

My Story (Lengthy But Its Mine)
Lisa's Hope replied to bubblesbgood's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Bubbles I wish you more than luck. I will surely pray for you. You have been through so much!! I just cringe reading your story. I am to be sleeved tomorrow morning and I'm really terrified. I just told my husband that maybe I shouldn't be reading this story the night before surgery. I can't imagine the suffering you have been through. God has more plans for you. I'm so glad you are ok. -
I'm still in the pre op blues! LOL,,, DAY 12 of hell... JK I'm so weak and hungry right now. Surgery on Monday and I just pray it is easier after. I still don't understand why some pre ops are 3 days and some a week, then two and even more.
-
Hi Jenny, My surgery is Monday as well and I'm also a bundle of nerves too. I will be glad when the hard part is over! Good luck on your surgery. Did you have to do a preop diet before: On my 12 day of preop and it is kicking my butt! Tummy growls all the time.
-
Not a good day for me. I actually cheated on my preop diet with two boiled eggs and lettus and this is the second time. Once last week as well. I am so worried that my liver will NOT shrink enough for surgery. That may sound rediculous but I have fatty liver disease and am just so scared that I'm going to be put under and wake up with no sleeve due to not keeping to the pre op diet exactly. I am so tired of these protein shakes, SF popsicles, SF jello, and broth! With that being said the up side is I've lost 11 pounds. I'd hope to lose more and still hoping for at least 15 before surgery. I'm anxious about the surgery more than usual today. I woke up this morning finding myself thinking about complications again. My father passed away of a pulmonary embolism brought on by surgery. I'm just scared. Nothing else to say. I know I have to do this and just wish these last few days would hurry and get over with. I have to be at the hospital at 6:30 am on Monday. My surgery is at 8:30 am. I worry about everything! Uggghhhh... Thanks for letting me vent. I'm grouchy, hungry and emotional!!! Can't stop the tears today.

I bought the sample pack and tried to mix it in water and I couldn't get it to mix well.

Today Was My One Week Post Op Appt!
Lisa's Hope replied to marina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations Marina!! I'm so happy for you! I wonder too how I'm going to get in all that liquid. I mean how do you do it?? 64 oz a day?!?! I don't do that now. I'm worried cause my surgery is Monday and I have no idea how I'm going to do it. On the up side, my daughter is in Nursing school working on her BSN. So she will be taking care of me next week! -
You look awesome! My surgery is Monday and I'm sooooo scared!

I bought a sample bag and I tried the apple something earlier and it was awful!! I'm wondering how to drink it as well. I thought it would be good listening to most comments about it but its not me to...

I Guess This Is Really Going To Happen.
Lisa's Hope posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So, my call came in this morning from the surgery nurse. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am on Monday morning. I guess this really is going to happen. I just found out I will have a On Q pain catheter inserted. I guess because I'm having a large hernnia repair a the same time. I don't know. I assumed it would be a morphine pain pump but as of this morning that isn't the case. I asked the nurse what this was and she said it was inserted directly into the site. From what I've read it is really good and most people feel no pain at all with this in. I have to be sure to remember to tell them to give me nausea medicine. OH boy... I'm nervous and excited. I'm sure I will blog again on Sunday night fretting about the surgery.. I've lost 13.2 pounds on the pre op so far. I guess I just might make the 15! Wish it had been more but I have really stuck to the diet except for twice which was boiled eggs and lettus... Has anyone had this On Q pain catheter before? If so, weigh in sleevers. I love y'all!! -

Any Self Pay Patients Have Complications After Surgery?
Lisa's Hope posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just wondering if any self pay patients had any complications after surgery and if their insurance paid for it even if they had an exclusion on the surgery itself? I'm self pay as you all know and I'm so worried what I will do if I have complications. My family has put everything we have in this surgery financially. I know I should just call my insurance company but I don't even want to give them heads up that I'm having surgery. I know that may sound rediculous. Funny thing is they paid for my physc eval. Strange isn't it? -
You are so funny about those pickles!! I think about having to be on two more weeks of liquid too after doing two weeks now for the preop. I'm not looking forward to it. I feel like I'm starving. I haven't been asked to do a preop thing yet. The hospital should be calling me tomorrow. So, I guess they will let me know. I don't know why they would because I don't have anything in me anyway but liquids... YUCK!
-
Thank you! I'm so nervous and anxious but trying not to think about it. I know my surgeon puts his patients on blood thinners before and after surgery for 10 days, so I'm hoping It helps.

Any Self Pay Patients Have Complications After Surgery?
Lisa's Hope replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow.. that sucks! As my husband says "insurance is organized crime!". I am now on my husbands group policy. I have a 2500.00 deductible. It hardly pays for anything. I don't think they can drop me as long as it is a group policy through a company but I may be wrong. Thanks so much for telling me though. I won't let them know anything. Hope they don't find out somehow!!
