Hey Ladies! Anyone Lost 130 Lbs Or More?
Kiki Von Moonshine posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'd love to follow your journey as well as see pictures from start to finish. I noticed in the picture section, some of the pictures in a persons album isn't dated so I have no clue as to the start and beginning of their journey. Anywho, I am looking to lose 130 to 160 lbs, and wanted see someone who had about the same goal. I'm 282 now, and 5'6. How long did it take you? I can imagine it would take me about fifteen to eighteen months to lose that amount. -

Kiki Von Moonshine posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ugh, I'm more interested in knowing how long I'd have to see a nutritionist as opposed to everything else. Ugh.. I'm counting down the days. I'm ready! -

3 Months Out--What Life Is Like For Me
Kiki Von Moonshine replied to AnneAC's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm not a sleever yet, but it's weird because potatos full me and I don't want to eat anything or have a feeling for wanting something sweet. However bread is the devil for me. I won't even bother with any junk food. I've been trying to lose prior to surgery, etc. and with that have been charting down what I eat, and OMG, pastries are like a drug, and it's a good think I can pinpoint it, and leave it alone. -
Do you have more energy? Is your energy the same, worst? I must say my energy levels vary. Some days, I'm okay, some days I'm tired. My iron levels are low so I take my iron pills as often as I could. Part of me fears getting sleeves might make it worst. I hope not.

Anyone Ever Lost Friends After Knowing You Were Getting The Surgery?
Kiki Von Moonshine replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I guess my friends comment didn't really bother me because I knew where it was coming from. It's like I understand, less attention would be on them. so.. it's like whatever. No biggie. Now that I'm a mommy I don't go out at all anyway so I'm not missing out anything. I just can't wait for this process to go through and to really wow the pants off of her. It's crazy because I met her through modeling. Didn't really think that feeling of not being good enough was that strong. Shes very confident in shows, and in person. Oh well.I'm just counting down the days until I see my doctor. It's taking forever!! -

I have a nice novel size amount of questions for my doctor. I want to make sure I have all needed documents as well as have all questions asked. So far thanks to sites like these I have gotten most answered. It also helps that I have a friend who has had WLS by the same doctor I am going to, so I get some info from her. -

Yea I read that if it's too large or some people cheat then they stopped the surgery. I'm not playing that. I just couldn't imagine doing that, and getting cut and being told "Go home." I have only had one surgery that was needed, so this is the first time I am seeking out surgery, ya know? So I can't slack. -

I'm going to, I see towards the end of the month. Just asking questions and getting answers from different people. I'm waiting for a person who went to the same hospital to see if I can get some insight. -

You can have as MANY thoughts as you want, however where exactly did I say I couldn't do two weeks? You have seen only this post and assume that I couldn't. I asked a simple question about a two week diet, which I am entitled to. So please don't assume. Just a thought. -

So how does one show their weight loss attempts? I am trying to get everything together in advance. I never had the extra cash for weight watchers etc, however I have joined gyms over many years, but I don't have actual proof of that. I mean I don't have the records of the payments, etc. I also tried pills, but that was years ago as well. I do have a food journal right now, but I only started it recently. -

Not to get ahead of myself, but I would love to only do a vegeterian diet, since I am one already. That would be soooo awesome. One can dream right? -

I know all of the above. What I want to know is why some doctors want some to do it for one or two weeks, why some aren't told too, and if the liver is xrayed prior to. -
Well I Thought I Was Done, But....
Kiki Von Moonshine replied to cludgie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Like most have said your goal is YOUR goal. For me I'm happy at anything 170 and under, but if I had to pick a number I'd guess 140 would be ideal for me, depending on what that looked like. The body is different so my 140 might look really small on my frame. At 200 I looked small for my size. That was the first time I was able to fit into size 12's as well as 14's and 16's. So I guess for now it just depends for me on how I look, and not so much the pounds. I'm more clothing size driven. Once I get to a Medium size, and not this new vanity sizing, a true medium, I am in heaven! -
Should I Call And Ask My Insurance Again?
Kiki Von Moonshine posted a topic in Insurance & Financing
So I called my insurance and asked if WLS was covered. The rep told me yes, but she couldn't tell me which one exactly. She said the doctor would "put it in" and then I will know whats covered. I'm like "huh?" Should I call again and ask. I think the person I spoke to didn't really want to get into specifics. I have a feeling only the band and bypass would be covered. Or should I wait until my consultation? -
