Is There A List Of "allowable" Alcohol Here? What Have You Sipped On?
Kiki Von Moonshine posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
On another forum someone mentioned the allowable liquors/wines for RNY, I am sure it would be the same idea for sleevers. I know sleevers aren't suppose to have any type of alcohol, etc. Anywho, what have you sipped on, and how did you feel? -

Not a huge drinker. I usually only buy one drink and it's strong. A long island iced tea. It gets me "nice." -
Dealing With Eating With The Family And Bad Manners Since Surgery

Oooo.. He was doing it before? Is he plus size too? Sometimes when you eat to fast you can't enjoy the food. Is he waiting until he is starving to eat? Either way he still needs to respect you when you guys eat. That's just rude. -
Stretchmarks/scars...
Kiki Von Moonshine replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too am not worried about incision scars since my c section scar looks "really good" when all the doctors see it. It didnt darken or anything. My stomach go up almost all the wasy, so even if I have the tummy tuck I will still have them. -
Stretchmarks/scars...

I know that skinny people have stretchmarks. What I have heard from a sleever is she tried laser surgery and it helped her scars, and stretchmarks, so I'm trying them. -
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...........................................................
Kiki Von Moonshine commented on Thyck&Sexy's blog entry in Thyck&Sexy's Blog
I originally want the RNY. Then decided on the sleeve because I like my NSAIDS when I get my monthlies, or in general. So what was left was the sleeve. Recently I looked into the DS, but I'm a vegeterian, and I didn't like the idea of all of those pill pill pills. The plus with the sleeve is if for whatever unfortunate reason the weight I want off doesn't come off, I can get the DS, although it's best to do that all at once. I am pretty comfident though the VSG will work for me. -

Hates When Friends Try To Talk Me Out Of Surgery!
Kiki Von Moonshine replied to SkinnyMom2b's topic in Rants & Raves
I know my mom will be such a hattttter! When I was smaller she gave me no words of encouragement. Occasionally she would say "that top looks nice," but it was almost like she didn't want to. She has issues with emotions. I was looking pretty good. God help her once I get down to that weight, minus sixty more, plus I'm cute.. Good grief. Sorry, just had to toot my own horn for a second. -
Hates When Friends Try To Talk Me Out Of Surgery!

Like today someone asked if I knew about the raw food diet. I told them yes and declined. Mind you, she is average size and I don't think was ever big. It's a little different when someone has experienced it first hand. Besides, WLS is a tool to help. -

Honestly I would have flipped. The story with the trash in your food is kind of crazy! In his mind he probably is thinking you are full or soon to be so he just put his stuff in there. He really was thinking at the moment. If he does it again then I don't know what to tell you. I'd just say, stand your ground, and ask for consideration. In general regardless if I'm done or the person is done first at the table, we start getting ready to leave together. -

For People Who Only Had To Do A Three Day Liquid Diet Pre-Op?
Kiki Von Moonshine posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How much did you lose? I have to find my papers with information that was given to me to see what the "liquids" consisted of, although I don't think it was listed. I notice some people were allowed yogurt during this phase. Anywho, how much did you lose and what was allowed? -
Ladies: What Was Your Five Month Loss?
Kiki Von Moonshine replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats all. I do notice people include pre-op weight sometimes. I know for me I will count from the day of surgery, but I do understand that some people lost some weight pre-op, but for me telling how much I way from day of is easier. To me any weight loss even if it's slow or not it's good still. I think everyone wants to lose it fast, but patience patience patience. I will be telling myself the same thing because I have noooooo patience!! -

Was the fuzzy navel (giggles) protein clear? Is it clear liquids or liquids/liquid like, because I know I can't see through any apple cider or yogurt lol. Is it yes to proteins shakes? I know every doctor is different on their guidelines. -

I bought some broth. I have to give that a try. I am going to try and do a one day liquid diet every week until I can try and build up. -

I'm 281 today. When I was interested in wls I was around 292. I'm 5'6. I was 300 in August. I plan on getting a bike soon so I can be active and work out. My goal is to lose at least twenty prior to my surgery in July. -

Post Ops: After The Two Years Is The Size Of Food The "normal Size?"

Post Ops: After The Two Years Is The Size Of Food The "normal Size?"
Kiki Von Moonshine posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well, we should have already seen what is considered "normal size" food based on the food chart/observation. I believe it's a palm size of protein, a cup of carbs, and more veggies. Anywho, what I want to know from post ops that are further along (maybe 1.5/2 years) is the amount of food you eat now considered the "normal" amount or is it still smaller in comparison to what the average person might eat? What I have been doing for a few months is measuring my foods, and using smaller plates. Smaller plates is a great tip, especially if you've always had gigantor plates. My bestie had the RNY, and I have asked her to send a picture of her food to get a visual and it does look smaller than average, but her pouch would be smaller than my stomach. -
Is There A List Of "allowable" Alcohol Here? What Have You Sipped On?
Kiki Von Moonshine replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm going to look into the skinny girl drinks. I heard they were good because they are suppose to be lower calorie. My tolerance is what I'd consider low since I don't hardly drink. I would say though, that I might take advice that I have heard, and try my first post op drink at home so I know how I would feel. Funny thing is what I would drink while outside is not what I would drink inside. I am no bartender and I would usually drink a apple martini, a long island, patron, or incredible hulk at a club. That was about two years ago. The last thing I had was a irish cream after Christmas. We shall see.
