I am 7 months from surgery and hit the 100 lb lost mark! I can't believe I have lost that much weight. It was a rocky first few months, but I am so glad I did it now. I never have to diet again, with my wonderful tool that helped get me healthily and I will continue to stay healthy!

Tired Of The "when Can You Have___ Again?" Questions
gettinskintae replied to gustavo52974's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do the same thing. Every time I said I didn't want a drink they looked at me like I had two heads, so instead of paying for a drink and wasting the money I just started ordering water. When me and my husband go out I don't order food most of the time, I just eat from his plate, that makes people look at me weird too. If I want something different I will sometimes just order an appetizer and take home what i don't eat to munch on for the next few days. -
Any Charlotte Nc Sleevers?
gettinskintae replied to NCsleever63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I am from Randleman, just south of Greensboro. I was sleeved on April 4th by Dr. Dasher, in High Point. I am down 69lbs and 2 pants sizes. I still have trouble getting in all the protien I need, but it gets better everyday and I feel so much better. -
Hi, I wanted to let everyone know I was sleeved on Wednesday. I came home yesterday evening and just felt like getting on here. The pain is not too bad, they just sent me home on Tylenol. The worse part has been the gas pains and gurgles, I was so glad to see others have the gurgles too. They feel so crazy. I am getting in Water and G2 thinking about trying a G3, it has protien in it, but I have been nauseous and taking Reglan and Phenergen, which seems to help. I just took a shower and that made me feel a little human. So that's my update. Will be so glad when I feel a little more normal and the gas pains go away.

I was just talking about this same subject with my husband, the other day. I guess great minds think alike, lol My conclusion was, that when Oprah first started her talk show, everything about her was about her weight, she was the subject of all fat jokes and when anyone spoke about fat people, Oprahs name came up. Now that she built her reputation and made a massive amount of money, now she is more talked about when people discuss rich people, or joke about giving away cars, that took the focus off of her weight, so I think if she had the surgery now, it would put the focus back on her weight and tear down all of the positive vibe she has created for herself. It probably would have been better if she done it back when she lost all that weight, she might could have kept it off too. That's my opinion anyway

I just got my prep appt dates today, so it is really sinking in that the surgery is less than 2weeks away, so I am so nervous now. I keep reading through all kinds of things on the Internet, to try to prepare myself, for what's to come. I am very excited too, but I think the nerves can get the best of us, when we are facing something like this and from what I have read from others, it is very normal to be nervous.

April 4 Sleeve Buddy
gettinskintae replied to atkinsoncl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in nc and I am having the vsg on April 4th, too. So cool to see others doing it on my same day! I am nervous and excited all at the same time. I started my prep diet today and also stopped smoking, so not sure how pleasant I will be for the next few day
