How Successful Was Your Surgery?
Renea77 replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Updated: I was sleeved on 3/14 and chose the sleeve as I yo yo dieted for years and struggled with my weight constantly. I needed this surgery as I was t keeping the weight off long term, I would lose 20 and regain 35 in a matter of months. I was at my all time highest weight of 230 when I had surgery, I am 183 now. After being sleeved I lost alit of blood and had a small rough patch but never regretted my decision, the joy I feel as I eat a small meal and feel satisfied, how I don't think about food all day and how much more energy I have and how hard aim pushing myself to become stronger be it through spinning, running, weight lifting, I am challenging myself. I love my sleeve and without knowing all the long term effects or impacts of the sleeve, I would rate it a 9! It has helped me get a new attitude toward food and exercise and I will be forever grateful for that. PS shouldblittler I am from the Philly area, we can be local buddies!!! -
Where are my Flirty Thirties?
Renea77 replied to travelchick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi flirty thirties...I am 34, class of 1995 sleeved on 3/14 and down 45 pounds so far. Feeling great and loving being sleeved. -
My surgeon cleared me at 6 weeks for all exercises including weights, he said start light and stop if you feel pain. I haven't felt any pain and am taking 3-4 spinning classes a week, lifting 3-4 times a week and outdoor running/walking 2-3 times a week. I feel great, you know you body so start small and build up. Lissa had a great tip of low weights but high reps, so I started there. I just don't want to have a lot of loose skin and weights help with that.

I am also an HR Professional and work as an HR Manager in Philadelphia. Not sure if you want to relocate there, but my company is currently looking for an HR Manager. Private message me if interested. Thanks and good luck.

Where Are My 5 Weekers?
Renea77 replied to spadesmcloven's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 5 weeks tomorrow. I read these threads all the time and I have seen many comments about three week stalls, it seems common so when I stalled at three weeks I didn't stress over it. I am losing slowly as well, but I am kinda happy about it because its given me the chance to exercise more and tighten up so I avoid having lots of loose skin. I am taking this one day at a time, we have made a huge choice to become sleeved and we are sooo worth it. Stay positive and remember we are losing the weight and eating less, there will be some hills and valleys but we will succeed! Patience, perseverance, persistence....that's the motto! Have a great night -
HI all! I will be 4 weeks post op in two days and can barely eat anything. I get very gassy and I feel like I can feel the food moving through my sleeve and it's uncomfortable. I've taken the gas x strips in an attempt to get more food in but I am eating about 2 to 3 bites per meal. I eat protien first as I barely am getting in any food, I am on mushies right now and never thought I would say this considering I once loved food but I don't like eating. I am doing good with my fluids, I love ice Water but struggle with protien shakes so I know I am not getting enough protien. Does anyone else experience this or have any suggestions? I truly appreciate it. Thanks.

I was sleeved on 3/14 at Phoenixville Hosptial in PA. Started at 226, lost 9 during pre op liquids, weighed in at 206 today.

I am struggling with the protein, don't like the way it tastes and have tried several different kinds. I have read horror stories on this website about the ingredients in some protein shots. I am drinking boost right now, however not for long as it has carbs and sugar but it was recommended for now to assist with getting my strength back up.

Hi Everybody! I was just sleeved 10 days ago and just signed up for MFP. I sent friend requests to alot of you as I am still on liquids but will be learning new ways to eat and am hoping to get some inspiration based off of the meals you all are eating. congrats to everyone on being sleeved...we rock! -
I was sleeved on 3/14 and am now experiencing exactly what you said. Last night I had so much acid in my throat, it was ridiculous. It was at night as well, while I was resting. I am taking Prilosec twice daily but last night was the first night I experienced that. Sucked!

Newbie - Sleeved 3/14 Hemoglobin Very Low
Renea77 replied to Renea77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My hemo was low before surgery about a level 10 then dropped to 7.4 and has been stable at that level since.
