I Was Sleeved Yesterday, May 7Th And I Did Great
phatdivabbw commented on Vicki147's blog entry in Vicki147's Blog
What are you eating for your clear liquids? To answer your question regarding the length of stay. Insurance companies only pay so much and take discounts so the hospital and docs get more money the longer you stay inpatient. Inpatient pays more than outpatient. Usually outpatient procedures pay one flat case rate. A procedure may have cost 3000 but the hospital will only get paid 80 percent instead of 100 percent of the charges. I'm so happy you are doing well. -
You should buy a toddler size sippee cup! I'm getting one.

Is anyone else getting the filter inserted before their surgery? I'm a little afraid. I have a friend who had the filter inserted and they could not remove it after her surgery. I don't want that thing staying inside my body. My doctor said since my BMI is high they are doing this as a precaution for blood clots. Also it's extremely important for me to walk after the surgery to not only remove gas but to make sure I don't get any blood clots.

phatdivabbw replied to LTARLTON's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Unjury has a specified temperature. I'm still post-op but I'd think if you didn't heat it pass the suggested temp you should be okay. What kind of protein are you using? -

Any May Sleevers Here?
phatdivabbw replied to chicagochic's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My date is May 17. I go for my filter on May 15. I did my Pre-Admission testing yesterday. I have to see my PCP for clearance. I'm nervous and excited. I keep telling myself I have had two C-sections and a hernia repair and this will be a piece of cake. The hard part is how well I do after the procedure. -

Could Cry Right Now
phatdivabbw replied to irishmama2004's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there sweetie. Don't give up! I think I annoyed the surgery coordinator. I apologized for being so pushy but I needed to stay on top of everything for fear something might go wrong. Be Positive. -
Could Cry Right Now
phatdivabbw replied to irishmama2004's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I went for the pulmonary consult I found out I have sleep apnea. I have the machine and have to bring it with me to surgery. At first I didn't want to wear it but believe it or not since I've been sleeping with I wake up with more energy. When you stop breathing at night it takes a lot out of you. After the surgery and you lose weight it should go away. -

I take pain meds for my back and BP pills. Can we swallow pills after the surgery? I was thinking of crushing them and taking them in some applesauce but I don't think that's part of the clear liquid diet. Any suggestions? My surgery is May 17

I can't wait! My knees and my back are my biggest problems and reason for getting a sleeve. I'm even trying to figure out how I'm going to work to the holding area to get prepped for surgery.
