Almost 7 weeks Post-Op...think i ate too fast. help
phatdivabbw replied to rxkid2384's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Here are a few tips when that happens. walk around put your arms up to help the food pass vomit (don't make it habit) breathe through it sometimes I rub my belly (psychological) Most important it will pass but try not to do it again. This happens when I drink water too fast. Also when I forget not to drink while eating although I have mastered taking a few sips with my meal when needed. My Nut says we are okay doing this because we still have "everything" intact unlike a bypass patient. I can't think of the name of the "thingy" that allows food to pass from the stomach to the small intestines. Feel Better. Hugs -
My doc said I could walk from day one. I think it was 1 mth before lifting and abdominal exercises.

Help! 9 Months Out And Problem Need Info Not Encouragement?
phatdivabbw replied to DebiC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is my problem too. 6 mths I reached 100lbs. I'm 9 mths post op and have lost 18lbs in 3 mths. So frustrating! My scale fluctuates between 330 & 337. My next goal is 300. I need progress! -

Over 400Lbs Gastric Sleeve Success Story
phatdivabbw replied to jasminem89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My starting weight was 448. I am 9 months post-op and have lost 118lbs. I reached 100lbs lost at 6mths. My weight loss is slowing down but I know I'm the blame. Most importantly you have to make yourself accountable to make it happen. Just like many of us we turn to the forums for guidance support and help when things are going wrong (my first time here in months) I will do better with staying active to help those who are on my same journey. -
At my consult my weight was 448lbs. This was a shocker to me but I didn't have a meltdown because I know I'm taking control of my health. I have been very open and honest with friends and family with sharing my weight. First I get the repulsive look and then I get "you don't look that big". I honestly don't know how to respond. So I shrug it off. I'm trying not to think about weight as one lump sum. I want to break it down in obtainable goals. I did read about a man who lost 100lbs in 4 weeks. Has anyone else achieved this quick success. I'm fearful of sagging skin so my plan is to exercise and moisturize compulsively. I'm waiting for my paperwork to be submitted to the insurance company and then my approval letter. I hope to be sleeved this month. Lewanda

I started out exercising and was doing well with controlling my loose skin. I've slacked up on the exercise and see a change. It's important to weight and strength train. It helps.

I hate Food but love fruit!
phatdivabbw replied to SweetSaso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT told me to stay clear of fruits and fruit juice. I'm 7 mths post-op and still do not drink fruit juice. I will eat watermelon, apple (no peel), orange but don't swallow the flesh, pineapples but not a lot. I eat all veggies. No corn. (veggie or starch? LOL) The important thing is Protein in any form. Beans, cheese, greek yogurt, Peanut Butter. It took me a while to eat eggs too. *I'm down 110lbs 7 mths post-op* My hair thinned around 5mths but is growing back now.. I was consuming 70g of protein a day but slacked off a little. I'm afraid of what might happen since protein and Vitamin use is low. Of course we know each persons journey is different. Good Luck! -
Pill crushing questions and answer
phatdivabbw replied to SylviaMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hated crushing or dissolving pills. There was one pill I refused to take because it was horrible. Thank goodness I didn't need it. My BP went to normal a few weeks out. I crushed and dissolved for about a month then I was allowed to swallow anything no bigger than a plain M & M. 7 mths post-op and I swallow everything but still buy chewable vitamins because I like them. LOL -
Do U Get Nauseated When U Eat
phatdivabbw replied to mbabercrombie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry it will pass. After the nausea you will have to deal with vomiting and the slimies. Burping, hiccuping, nose running, strong smells, stomach cramps and pains but all of this is the healing process and of course everybody is different. These are the things I went through. Not all at the same time and some were short periods. I'm 6mths post op and all I have now is a little burping when I eat or drink too much. -
Dumping On Thanksgiving, No Bueno
phatdivabbw replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope you are feeling better. The slimies are the worst. Sounds like you had a lot going on. Exactly what did you ear? Eggs will make me vomit everytime. Hamburgers I'm getting better with. If I go one morsel over I can bet you it's coming back up. I've gotten better with vomiting because it makes me feel bulimc. -
I'm 6mths out and have been drinking since 2 mth. In the beginning it was 1 or 2 drinks. My nutritionist said it was okay but suggested I stay away from wine, beer and drinks with fruit juice and soda. LOL I use Crystal light as my mixer. I will have a lil splash of cranberry if my Crystal light isn't handy. I did a shot of Tequila a mth ago and it burned my little pouch so I don't do shots. Oh and no I don't get drunk quicker but I have noticed my buzz doesn't last long. Also, don't be stupid and try to eat and drink. I went out for dinner and drinks with friends and amongst the laughing and talking I forgot I can't eat and sip. I thought I was going to blow at the table. I made it to the bathroom and vomited. SMH!

I'm A Walking Melting Wax Figure!
phatdivabbw commented on tmorgan813's blog entry in A funny thing happend while I was loosing weight
I'm already having the melting woman issues. I have 100 more pounds to lose and honestly I'm terrified. I'm having real anxiety issues because I'm dating more and get very nervous with intimate encounters. Spanx and shapewear maskes us look good in our clothes but "Oh boy!" when they come off. I haven't told any of my new beaus that I've had weight loss surgery. I wonder what are they thinking. -

4 Months Post-Op And Experiencing Pain
phatdivabbw posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had a very uneventful recovery. I am now 4mths post-op and I've been experiencing a few issues. It seems everything I eat is giving me an overwhelming full feeling. I stopped having the slimies a month ago and didn't have anymore vomiting episodes. Now it seems to be coming back. I have pain in my butt and upper thigh area right below my butt. I can't stand fully erect. I don't know if I should see my surgeon or orthopedic doctor. I'm having trouble urinating. I had this problem my first month but it seems to have come back. I want to pee and my bladder feel full but I have to strain and strain to pee. Although, I feel like I have to go it won't come on it's on. I keep gaining and losing the same 3lbs over the past two weeks Has anyone else experienced these issues or had a set back at 4mths post-op? -
4 Months Post-Op And Experiencing Pain
phatdivabbw replied to phatdivabbw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone! Pre-op and Post-op this site has been wonderful. We come here because we all are on a similar path. It helps me to hear if anyone else is experiencing the same issues I have. Ultimately, I will visit the doctor but I also feel a sense of support and encouragement. This can be a lonely road. My doctor didn't even know what SLIMES were. I had to explain its an internet term. Now he uses it when we meet. LOL Thanks everyone, Remember we are a TEAM! (TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE) -
How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?
phatdivabbw replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm not a fan but I would mix it with crystal light. Okay make the crystal light first then mix it with the Isopure. I put the crystal light directly in a bottle of Isopure and it didn't mix well. I drink Syntrax fuzzy navel with crystal light.
