RawrrAshleex3 replied to gr8fun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thought I was officially crazy. I searched the forum for pickles as I am craving them (sleeved 5/16). When can I have them between the acidity and seeds? -
Maybe that's why slushies hurt my tongue. I spat it out, figured if it hurts my mouth it'll sure hurt my sleevie! Can I have diet lemonade?wont the acidity hurt?

Why Am I So Cold?
RawrrAshleex3 replied to bratvp63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cold too ): I feel silly when I go out, even in this hot weather I start to shake really bad. Forget turning the ad to 70 and 2 fans on for that freezing but snugly warm under the heavy comforter feeling, temp is now o. 80 and I get that haha -

Sip sip sip!!! Don't gulp or take big ones! I know when I'm thirsty because I get really bad dry mouth. Don't wait till that though, try to get an oz every 15 mins. I've been trying everything sf, diet teas, diet snapple, low cal g2 Gatorade (great for electrolytes as well as smart water), you can do just about any IMO or crystal light type packets, diluted apple/cranberry juice.... I've been on a watermelon juice kick, I make my own. 1/2 watermelon 1/2 water, you can add stevia/Splenda/etc to taste I suppose. Oh and you can do decaf teas if youre on full liquids you can do carnation instant breakfast and proteins drinks. The farther out you get, there's more options, like s,others and protein shakes (: I've been on a diet v8 splash (diluted) kick. No orange juice, even when it's in. My sugar range! Diluted=yuck, and less diluted=ouch! -
I was only sleeved a few weeks ago but set back due to complications too. What are you eating at 8 weeks MAB?

How Not To Scarf...?
RawrrAshleex3 replied to Patrick Curl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have someone eating with you, strike up a conversation (: or I'll text or check something between every bite. I always concentrate on the flavor, texture, smell of every bite. Same thing with liquids. -

What You Wish You Knew Before The Sleeve
RawrrAshleex3 replied to justmeandmysleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I knew there was a possibility of spleen complications and not just finding out the hard way (apparently its quite rare). Worst part, the head hunger by far. Advice: always keep something by you and SIP SIP SIP!!! -

Were Any Of Your Family/friends Against You Getting Sleeved?
RawrrAshleex3 replied to thehappycat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My mom and grandmom have been yelling at me about my weight the past couple years and were very supportive about the wls. Now I'm having a hard time because I'm not cleared for real food yet and my grandmother keeps hounding me to "just eat something already" and it's hard because I live with her... It's all I hear every day. Its your life, no one can make those decisions except you. As for ney sayers, theyll see it in the end. Friend of my moms has always been EXTREMELY anti wls, now that I'm doing it, she's considering it (: for some people either they're just skinny and don't get it, or they're overweight themselves and jealous/don't want to be the fat one standing. -

Are you exercising any other ways? Try weight training and aerobic mixes. Change up your routines every now and then (: -

Do Your Taste Buds Ever Go Back To "normal"?
RawrrAshleex3 replied to Luwanna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Smells and tastes are intense until you start eating normally. Taste buds will definitely be different but more tolerable in time. I've been having the same problem, except I lived off freeze pops the 1st week, and that's what my dr said. Water still tastes gross and sf gives me bad gas and bloating so I flavor my water with packets and mio, low cal diluted g2 Gatorade, bai5, and 1/2 h2o 1/2 apple juice no sugar added from concentrate. Watermelon and baby fruit purée sippee things are my new addiction, a nice change since I hassle a hard time with everything else! -
Omg yes!!!! I might be more inclined to groom her more often lol
-
My nut warned me of it as well. I'm tolerating sugar ok, but yogurt wreaked havoc. Not sure if it's dumping or lactose, but im ok with frozen yogurt? Horrid cramps, bloating galore, and in the bathroom like crazy RIGHT AFTER I ate it. Yuck. I want to smack people that think living life like this is the "easy way out!"

The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!
RawrrAshleex3 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ended up only using lip balm, phone, and charger, and a small overstuffed pillow I made. Went in loose stretchy clothing and flip flops (YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BEND TO TIE SHOES!), wore em home. They give you toiletries and didn't even want the hassle of changing from their socks n robes. They have amazing yummy citrus flavor mouth swabs for dry mouth (although warning, too many causes diarrhea). Brought an iPad to read. Did lots of reading, but thanks to awesome pain killers, didnt remember any of what I read lol. I had my own room so no need for earplugs/mask. Just wished I brought a close pin or something for my nose, smell (is still) in wayyyyyy over drive and makes me nauseas. Fiancé thought I was nuts walking around pointing out closed doors with things as small as ketchup. Can no longer tolerate the smell of soups and "fresh" chicken (eg, Perdue cutlets. Chicken nuggets are fine though. It's weird). -
Try apple juice or bai5 (from 7-11). Not sure which did it, or both, yeahhhhhh quite the opposite of it being stuck!
