May 30th! Was April 9th... Stupid insurance! (Cigna)

GROWL my surgery got moved to May 30th. Stupid Cigna!

Im from Hamilton and will be sleeved 4/9 @ RWJ Hamilton. Hope everything is going well for yall and a fast and as ouchless as possible recovery for 101 and Dom!!!!!!!! (o:

How do I explain to my students (range from 4-11 in my after school class, floater for 12m-5y)? Theyre NOSEY! hehe

Lol same thing here!!!!! Except moms a little overweight and my grandmother is bigger than me!

I dont really teach much other than basics (numbers, alphabet, animals, basic spanish/ASL, attempt manners lol) things to the younger classes and my a/s class is more for homework/relaxing activities. I talked with my bosses and they said that the wl is from eating right and working out, which is a great idea. However, I KNOW theyre going to ask about being out 2 weeks. Bosses said vacation, but do I lie to them and make up stories or...? Like I said, my kids are NOSEYYYYYY! Plus, parents will probably put 2 and 2 together between the drinks, being out, and wl and the kids will find out. Is there a 'kid friendly' version without it sounding like hey Im fat, but I shlopped my stomach and now Im better, then they get all "omg Im fat" lol I know it sounds weird but the way my aunt and uncle treated peoples weight made their (now 10 y/o, but its been for a few years now) daughter think shes fat and she obsesses over what she eats and her version of working out.. Perk though on a random note, EXCITED that after all this, the kids will stop asking "Miss Ashlee, why is your tushy so big?" Children really do say the darndest things lol!

I do say thank you, and I know theyre trying to be supportive because I guess maybe they think its a big jump to take Im just tired of hearing it. And Im right up there with Blackanese, Im totally there with you. My grandmom and my mom are always talking about my weight and how I need to lose.. Walking into the mall to buy clothes for my christmas present my mom had the nerve to turn around and tell me "You know, you really need to do something with your weight". Broke the news right then and there... Then it turned into "why do you need to get surgery to lose weight" and now its "you better watch how much weight you lose!" Make up your minds people! lol Oh, cant forget the "Are you sure youre going to keep up with it after?" Well duh, dont really have a choice at that point. That would completely contradict everything Im aiming for. Although I am getting support from places I didnt think Id get, like work! (:

@thinoneday: I thought I was crazy and the only one to turn down riding because Id break the horse ha! My boyfriend and I were talking about going and I said I was too fat, Id hurt the poor thing and he gave me the craziest look. I think in some cases it might be the # on the scale too. I was 172 throughout high school, and while I felt fat, I still thought I had an amazing body in a size 11/13. It was crazy though, I never fully recognized how much weight I really gained until I hit 220s (even though I went up 3 pant sizes!), and it wasnt so much my body shape that made me feel grossly fat, it was the number on the scale. I plan on having a full-mirror black out time(only neck up!!!!) after surgery, so I base it on shape and health instead of a number.

I have Cigna, I had to do 6 months of dr visits with the bariatric dr, 2 visits pre op and 1 visit post op with the nutritionist, a psychiatric clearance, and a pulmonologist clearance to get it done here in NJ. Not sure if its different there though. They didnt say anything about it being within such amount of a time frame after though...

Preop is March 20.. Surgery is April 9th (:

Im 5'5 and 244, insurance approved! My preop appt is March 20 and the surgery is April 9th! So far the doc has me exercising by walking about 20 mins a day and taking a multivitamin and biotin. (as per my reg dr Im on vitamin D and personal choice I am starting birth control). My general dr said hed write a recomendation letter if I needed, maybe yours would help to? Good luck! I sat down with my Dr and he gave me a suggested date and he was flexable about it. He originally told me the last Monday in May but I had boughten my hubby $350 hockey tix and with the game being 1 week after I wouldnt be able to go! Dr had nooo problem moving it back and now Im going for April 9th (: Doesnt hurt to talk to your doctor, this is your life, you pay him!

I went into my local GNC (Hamilton, NJ) and explained I know NOTHING about them, never had em, and the sales person was fantastic! He let me try everything in little dixie cups to help me find something, and as posted before, he told me I could return it if I wasnt completely satisfied. I didnt know it would cost me so much either :-/ so he knocked off $10 and gave me a free shaker too!!
