So I've kissed major for 8 months, went in when they called, only 2 well reasoned call outs, and listened to "you'll be full time by the end of the month" since December(never did..) And got let go Friday. I understand it wasn't due to performance or anthing (state inspection, I didn't have fingerprints done; didn't know it was state req and the date we scheduled in Marchish they scheduled my to work and never got rescheduled. They got a fine, I got let go). Working PT usually 5/week using 40 miles in gas each day with a 12mpg mercury mountaineer (pre-job vehicle), trying to pay for surgery (lets face it, Cigna sucks, and this surgery/appts/vitamins/NUT req's aint cheap!) and wedding, and barely making the bills the past month or so, I'm ticked. ESP after they hassled me about pre admission telling me I had to reschedule it (the week AFTER I told them and 4 days prior to the appt) or they would have to hire a new person (in which I found out fri they hired 3 anyway). Now I'm broke(er) and I have this surgery Wed. I have 2 jobs looking into getting me in (don't really hate em, but not my 1st pick of the resumes I sent. Money is money though!) but it's an awful time to really need more interviews ): what are NJ unemployment req's? Lol as if I didn't have enough on my plate as it is!!! (no pun intended!)

Lol too cute! I wondered about that too!! Well.. I guess you could always try the chin workout thingy from tv haha

Surgeon Doesn't Do A Leak Test...deal Breaker?
RawrrAshleex3 replied to BKMama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Between the swelling and the intake, be happy! My doc is going to be doing one the day after in order to be released. NUT told me "I'll be honest, you're probably going to throw it up and have to try a couple times before you get enough down." That's comforting.... -
Places to get liquid protein samples
RawrrAshleex3 replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Either click the 1 serving tab up top, or type in the search bar "1 serving" "protein" (both with "" just like that). Just look at the nutrition first, some are high in carbs & sugar! -
What To Invest In

Thank you MassIndex (o: but that is for the hospital stay itself. I mean for post-surgery. BrookB-Thank you!!! Excellent ideas and eggface does have some amazing looking recipes that are usable for me AND fiance and grandmom! (we all live together like one insane happy family. Mostly insane! hehe) -
Now I know there's a "What to bring to the hospital list" but what about for the surgery over all? I am a list fanatic, but I think this could be AMAZINGLY helpful. To start it off, I'd imagine things like -scale -food scale -Measuring cups/spoons (if you're like me with #s rubbed off or missing a few!) -Personal blender/processor eg Magic Bullet -A good shaker (FYI smart shake is AMAZING. Cheap, and has a carabiner, 4x pill container, and a powder holder. Can be used without extra containers or with and is no bigger than a regular shaker or compartments can be used for jewelry/fruit/yogurt/etc. Dishwasher safe/Microwave safe + BPA free! AND 10$ for the 20oz!!) What else??

Any May Sleevers Here?
RawrrAshleex3 replied to chicagochic's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NUT called today. Ins approved! OFFICIALLY!!!!!! May 16! Scheduled my pre op with the hospital for this friday, had an interview Saturday, and booked my wedding reception Sunday! So I was thinking, what is going to go wrong, nothing ever comes this fantastically without a twist. Anddddddd, work is saying if I take time Friday for my pre op they'll have to hire someone -__- Seriously? -
If youve had your pre-op appt, what do the doctors have you doing to prep for surgery?

Places to get liquid protein samples
RawrrAshleex3 replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
http://buildingbrawn.com They have dozens and dozens of different samples, from Nectar Syntrax (awesome fruity flavors) to Protizyme (mmmm dessert flavors!). They cost $0.79-$1.79 each. I bought 17 samples and an amazing shaker for $30 Unfortunitely you can only get 1 sample of a product for most of them though, but its great for our changing taste buds after surgery! -
Vitamin Recommendations
RawrrAshleex3 replied to disneyteach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I splurged and got Celebrate Multivitamin Complete (for bariatric patients, has everything I needed + biotin + iron) and Celebrate calcium 500 Plus (1000mg calcium citrate in 2 chewable pills + Vitamin D as per PCP's request) So instead of taking pills for: multi, iron, biotin, calcium, and vD, I only take 2 types (: -

My NUT has my full liquids as Clear Liquids (unsweetened tea with splenda no milk or creamerish stuff, SF Jello, clear broths, SF popsicles, G2 Gatorade, Crystal Light, Diet Snapple, Water, and clear Protein shakes such as Isopure, Protein Blitz, and New whey Protein shots. She said if I mix 1 bottle of G2 with 1 bottle of Protein Blitz = almost full day's liquids). For FULL liquids, its all of that ++ Light & Fit yogurt, SF pudding, Cream of (mushroom, chicken, potato, etc) Soup with LACTAID milk (as we may have a problem with milk right after), SF Carnation Instant Breakfast, Egg Drop Soup, Wanton Soup (no wantons), Miso Soup (no seaweed), V8 juice, and any SF shakes. -

...Alcohol is a liquid right? just kidding!! Find stuff to keep busy and keep your mind off food. A big step (most of us atleast) is getting past our "mental" hunger. Read a book, go for a walk, see a movie, shop for makeup or indulge in a message, etc! -

May 30th but could be as soon as May 15thish depending on how quickly my insurance gets back (ugh Cigna I loathe thee through this process!) Funny though, Ive been waiting for this since my 1st visit in October, and the wait hasn't nearly been as bad as it feels now that I'm only a few weeks away! -

Phatdivabbw- you're right around the corner from me! (Hamilton border). Saw my dr and NUT today, may be able to get may 16 instead!!! Crossing fingers, but I doubt my insurance will get back that fast ): -
Im Ashlee, my surgery is April 9th! Preop is on March 20th. My doc is Dr Prokurat (Hamilton, NJ). 25, 5'5 and 244 and ready to lose it! *edit: Sorry I suck at spelling :/ oops! hehe

Started looking into it last summer, started my appts in October, was scheduled for April 9th. A month ago I was told the dr's office messed up and didnt look at my healthcare requirements, and it is now May 30th with Dr Prokurat in Hamilton NJ (@Robert Wood Johnson Hospital). Nervous but excited! Ive always been a chunkabutt, but was atleast muscular and in better shape from dancing. Thennnnnnn I was diagnosed with ptsd & bipolar, and gained 52-3 lbs from the cocktail of medications they had me trying to stablize. Im now stable, 25, engaged, working at a daycare and get my tail atleast were it was in high school (172), pref at a normal weight range!!!!! (130-5ish) Id kill to have even a size 14 pants back.
