I gained a half a pound back, but holding steady for about a week now. Sore port/band area! Hope all is well with everyone! Keep it up!!

Pcos, Are The Majority Of You Feeling Successful?
pbmls223 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm reading things here and there. And I'm nervous now having been banded that a lot of PCOS bandsters are not as successful as they would like to be. So, tell me your story. How are you doing? -
Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good. Sorry I've been MIA. I've been concentrating on kids and being out for the summer. Also been updating blog a lot. I had my first fill 4 weeks post op (so about 2 weeks ago). She wants to be very aggressive in getting me in the green zone in the 90 days following my surgery. She put in 5 cc's I took a drink and after the second drink, gurgle gurgle. It came right back up! So, she took out a little less than 1 cc. So I have approximately 4 cc's in my 11 cc band. I think it's pretty good. I've also had 2 PB episodes so far. One on the sidewalk at Applebee's (um, embarrassing) and one here at home. I'm quickly "learning my band". I'm not getting enough calories in but got an updated suggested menu from a nutritionist today so hopefully that will help! As od today, I'm officially down 50.6 lbs total! And next week I go back in for a check in but sincerely doubt we will do any adjustment. I think it's at a good place. Not too much, although at night I find myself wanting to snack so I'm not sure. Gotta ask about that. Maybe then..... TTFN!

Hey all! I've been having some port pain today and my major incision where the port is hurts today too. I'm thinking I may have just laid on that side a bit too much lately. What are your port sides feeling like around about 4 weeks post-op?
-
I'm actually doing my first fill tomorrow. My first fill isn't technically scheduled until July 11th, but I am supposed to start "regular food" tomorrow and well, I know right now I could eat WAY more than I am supposed (3 oz at dinner time). So yeah, it's time for a fill. She said that if I felt like I needed it earlier just to call and I did and I'm on my way in tomorrow. She said she is going to be very aggresive to get me into my green zone in the 90 days following my surgery. I mean we are already 28 days in today and no fill so it's going to have to be VERY aggresive in the next 60 days.

Had my surgery May 21st and normally I would have had my first fill July 4th, but since it's the holiday, it'll be July 11th. So, should have been roughly 6 weeks.

What were your favorites? I need ideas for main dishes.

I have costochondritis and it has been flaring up the last few days and the best way to get rid of it is by taking motrin. Which I can't because I am only two weeks out from my surgery. Ugh. It's a frustrating feeling because it square in the middle of my chest which then makes me think it could be band related, which it's not. Not fun.
-
Yeah, as of right now, no more Motrin. I was with my NP yesterday and she said no motrin. It's frustrustrating because the only way to get the inflammation down is Motrin and I can't do that because of the band surgery......vicious cycle.......

Let us know how it went!

Thanks! You are as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning May friends!! I had first post-op with my NP yesterday. I'm doing really well. I'm down a total of 35.5 since my pre-op (10.5 since surgery). She said I am really doing well. I see my surgeon in 5 weeks. My NP will either do my first fill then or if I feel like I need one at 4 weeks, she will do one then. She also said that she will be super aggresive with my fills over the next 90 days to get me in my "green zone" during my global surgery time which is the 90 days after my surgery which is included in my surgery fees, thus the aggressiveness in getting me to my green zone as soon as possible. So now I'm in my mushie stage. Ate some refried Beans for lunch with some reduced fat sour cream, reduced fat cream cheese and 2% milk shredded cheese, then I was allowed some low sodium V-8 juice, but then after that I did not feel like much eating at all. Fudgesicle was it. Sigh. Gotta get used to all this, make a schedule of what I need to eat all day otherwise I'm afraid I'm not going to get in all I need to get in all my food. How's everyone else?????????????????????? Also, I need to start walking!!!!

I'm still on full liquids (banded 2 weeks ago today) and I can have yogurt (no chunks), sugar free fudgesicles, broths, healthy cream of whatever soups (strained), sugar free puddings, applesauce. I have even found at my local ice cream shop (actually its frozen custard) sugar free fat free frozen yogurt. Oh and protein shakes with fat free milk. I try to drink 4 oz of a protein shake every hour for the first 3 hours of the morning. Like today at 7 am, 8 am and 9 am. It'll help me "get in" my protein for the day but it also helps me have more energy for the day as well. Hope this helps!

Oh I **think** I'm down approximately 34.6 lbs (9.6 since surgery) since starting at the bariatric clinic. I can't wait to go in on Tuesday and see the difference between their scale and mine so I can make a note in sharpie on my scale

Hi May friends! I've been really busy with kids, family and Girl Scouts lately! Today I had to make 2 veggie pizzas & 3 fruit pizzas and the kicker, I couldn't eat a single bite of it because I'm still on full liquids (still on full liquids a little longer than normal because we are waiting for my NP to get back from materity leave). Tuesday I go back to see my NP! Then I expect to be moved to mushie stage and be told when to start regular foods and to schedule my first fill. However, on Monday I have an appt with my GYN and I am thinking she will be wanting to schedule a laparoscopy of my left ovary so, if that's the case that may delay my first fill. I heard or read somewhere anytime you go in for surgery with a band they like to unfill it before the surgery. So why bother to put anything in. Also, if she's going to do it, I'd like it sooner than later so I can heal overlapping this surgery so I can have some time with my kids in the Water this summer swimming. I have a blog I'd be willing to share, just send me a message and I'll send you the web address.
