  1. Congrats, and enjoy all the great things that come with weight loss. I started running one minute at a time and I ran my first 5k last weekend! It's an amazing feeling. I'm so happy to be able to feel like I'm living! You are going to love it! Keep up the great work!

    Stupid Slider Foods

Chips are the devil! For some reason I love salty foods now more than ever. I had to ban chips from coming into my house. It's too easy to eat continuously.

    Yay I Farted!

I remember during the first week after surgery I'd celebrate my farts. "yay I farted!" my husband would just look at me and sigh while I celebrated. Lol!

    July 4Th Challenge

Happy 4th of July! I reached my goal. So excited. I was convinced that it wasn't going to happen. SW:174 CW: 164 GW: 164 As I was reading the other posts I realized that I accomplished much more than 10 pounds. I feel awesome and I have achieved some fitness milestones. I've been hiking and running. I'm so thankful to be living! Thank u those that reminded me of that. We should be proud of everything that we accomplish, not just the number on the scale. Congrats everybody!

    I'm Hoping This Gets Easier.

That's pretty awesome. I agree with the others- to go from nothing to thirty minutes... That's amazing. Stick with the walking. Imagine how much easier it will be once the weight starts melting off. If your worried about setting your goals to high - check in with yourself. Please don't push it to the point of injury. You know your body the best. Modify as necessary, but rest assured it will get easier over time. Best of luck!

    Running Nsv

I LOVE MY SLEEVE! Tonight I completed a 5K in 39 minutes! This is a major accomplishment for me. Before being sleeved it hurt to walk across campus at my school. This evening I ran a good 2.5 miles without walking or stopping AND I was chatting. My pace wasn't anything to brag about, but I DID IT! I have lost 62 pounds and I have quite more to go, but my body is capable of so much more than I ever believed. I registered for two 5Ks and I plan on running the tinkerbell half marathon in January. I can't believe that these events are even possible. Thank you to those who have offered guidance and answered my questions recently. My sleeve and the VST community are awesome. I'm in week two of a stall and that has gotten me down, but HOLY COW I did an awesome job this evening!

    Running Nsv

Thanks again for responding! Fern- it's great to hear from you! I think of you every time I stretch my IT band after running. VJSlim- thank you for taking the time to post. I think it's cool and humbling to be able to inspire others. Isn't this forum so fantastic? Keep on walking and trying to be active. ItsanewdayCassandra- How's the legs doing? Remember to take it slow and steady. I wish you the best of luck with the new jog/walk routine. Also - great news! The stall broke after a weekend of hiking. I lost 4.8 pounds! Yay!

    Thank you so much!
  12. shadayo- I love your wishlist /achieveable milestones in your signature! I wish that I would have had the sleeve done in my twenties. I feel like I have wasted too much time. I wish you the best of luck!

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

I weigh twice a week. It's usually on Wednesdays and Sundays. I should probably weigh only once a week because I'm not at the positive mindset yet where I can legitimately and wholeheartedly believe that I am okay when I'm not losing weight. Truthfully, I feel discouraged when I don't see the numbers moving in the right direction. I know in my head that eventually the scale will move because I'm doing things right. I know that I have to be gaining muscle because I can see the definition peeking through on my legs and arms. Nevertheless- I do get discouraged. It's weird, I know...
  15. Thank you so much for sharing! That is encouraging news. I haven't been too pleased with the scale lately. I have an appt. with my NUT tomorrow. It would sure be neat if she had one of those thingamijiggas. I'm curious about what it would say about me. I know I'm adding muscle because I can see it in my legs. :tongue2:
  16. Yikes! Well I'm glad it is being taken care of. Woo-hoo 32 pounds in two weeks! AWESOME!

    Very Tired

Hang in there. I remember feeling the same way. It takes awhile for the body to bounce back. Keep drinking ur water, getting protein, and taking vitamins. If u feel like u should be feeling better- call ur doc and see what they think.

How Can People Not See It?

Don't despair! U mentioned that these people see u everyday. This could be why no one has said anything. I've noticed that I get the most compliments or acknowledgement of weight loss if I run into people that don't see me everyday. Hang in there! People will definitely see the difference.

    July 4Th Challenge

Hi everyone! I'm a goober and haven't been checking in weekly. Sadly, I gained 2.6 and then lost some of it but not all. SW: 174 CW: 173 GW: 164 Hopefully the scale and my body will begin to cooperate!

    Slimming? Vomit?

Slime is extra thick and slimy saliva. When sliming I produce the "slime" in excessive quantities. I would need to spit every minute or so. It's super gross. On one occasion I tried to vomit in order to move past the sliming. It was the weirdest experience. I vomitted up very buoyant bubbles of slime. Weirdest thing ever!

    Slimming? Vomit?

Hi! Yeah, unfortunately people who have the sleeve can get the slimes. I experienced this when I was first introducing solid food IF I ate too fast or too much. It is not fun. ;(. I now am super mindful about how fast I'm eating and I don't run into this problem anymore.

Anyone Use A Hydration Pack Or Camelbak Post Op?

It's like a backpack for carrying water only. I use mine when hiking. It goes on ur back and there's a tube that stretches from ur back to wherever u clip it on the front of ur body. Water on the go! I use mine and I am three months out. No problems whatsoever. I also drink from a straw.
  24. Thank u fluffylibra30 for posting that info! That is good to know. This week I gained two pounds. My workout schedule is similar, but cals are lower. This is the first time that I've gained since being sleeved in March.
  25. EXACTLY what she said. I sent my hubby home. I wanted to rest and doze- didn't want to watch tv or chat. Leave him at home if you are comfortable with that.
