    Sweating?

Well, it does get better in some ways. I now run cold and always need a blanket or sweater if I'm sitting still or very sedentary. However, if I do the least bit of exercise I start sweating like crazy. In the beginning after post op I would barely sweat even when exercising. Now it's just nasty. I'm hoping that it subsides otherwise I'm going to be the "sweaty" teacher at work. I'm having a little bit of anxiety.
  2. @Half~of~Bri: I'm so glad that they discovered those. I'm sorry tho that they were there. Yay blood thinners and healing. It sounds like ur handling things well. To the rest of those getting sleeved tomorrow- I wish u the best. I hope u have a speedy recovery. I love my sleeve! It has helped me save my life and i have greatly improved the quality of my life. I have done things that I thought I would never do. I missed out on so much. Follow directions and use the sleeve as a tool. U r going to love living!!

    What's Your Favorite Workout/walking Music?

Hi! There was a thread here awhile ago under "favorite workout tunes". Do a topic search and it should come up. I'm not tech savvy enough to give u the link directly. anyhow- I hope u get some good songs from the list. Good workout music is a must. good luck.
  5. One night for me. Checked in Monday morning and went home late afternoon on Tuesday.
  6. At first I thought that I was losing from top to down. But, after taking measurements I learned that I was losing all over. It just seemed like my gut was taking forever because my face, neck, and shoulders were looking considerably smaller. I guess my gut and my thighs had the most fat, so it will take the longest to come off?? I don't know, but it seems like my gut missed the memo that the tatas and tush got cuz they are long gone.

    Thinking About Taking Up Running....

Yes! Heavy duty apps is the BEST! I use 10K runner and I'm looking forward to getting the 10k to half marathon app! I play my music, run the app, and run Nike +gps! Yeah, it sort of drains the battery, but IMO it is SO worth it.
  9. Oh. My. Goodness. That slide show was FANTASTIC. It made me cry. What an accomplishment. I'm so extremely excited and I hope that I'm at goal within a year too. Thank u so much for sharing! Congratulations!

How Much Should I Be Burning

I noticed that MapMy anything (run, ride, etc.) is way off in regards to distance too. I have had lots of luck with the Nike + gps app though. It's pretty accurate and it can be calibrated.

    Me Not So Horny......

Well, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has seen a decline in drive after surgery. My hubby and I are still pretty active because I like the closeness and making him happy, but it takes FOREVER for me to get there. Prior to surgery I was content with a quikie. Lol! Now, I could probably log it into my fitness pal- it takes forever. Sigh. Oddly, I'm enjoying the feel after a good run- its not an OMG moment, but my body feels great. I'm hoping the drive and ease of getting there comes back soon, otherwise I might need to talk to the doc.

So Shaving Your Legs And Being Obese

I'm a every two days kind of person. I could be daily, but really?! My ankles get so fricken hairy. The rest of my legs could go more than two days, but my ankles- oh goodness. Thick black stubble, it grows at a miracle grow rate. Lol. And I too, seem to be more on top of my upkeep once I lost some poundage. I think I look in the mirror more and I have the flexibility and ability to see everything. Good problem to have I guess.

    Sleeve Is Great

    Wowza! That is fantastic!
  15. Oh, that's a great question. Do you have any other co-morbidities- sleep apnea, diabetes? I wouldn't stop pursuing this route if the sleeve is something you are seriously considering. I would keep working with Kaiser until they flat out tell you no. I wish you the best of luck.

    Kasier Permanente?

I'm in northern California and it took me five months from the referral from my PCP to surgery. Not too bad!

    Why Do I Do It?

Yay u for catching it and switching to salad! I think it's a habit thing. Oddly, I crave pizza like no ones business. I'll think that it sounds really good, but after one bite I discover that I really don't like it anymore. I've done this 4-5 times. I truly think that it is out of habit. I just need to be cognizant of this and make good food choices. Food is fuel- I need it to fuel my workouts, to keep my hair, and to stay healthy. Good luck with the life style change! U can do it and it is worth it!
  18. First off- thank u for this great topic. I think this is an issue that quite a few of us have. I'm sorry that the docs r on ur case. I think ur approach to meet in the middle with 10 pounds is a great idea. Best of luck to u regarding the 5k! That is exciting. As for occupying ur mind... Well u can start worrying about when ur next race will be. they become addictive! I've done two 5ks, running one this weekend, and I've registered for a 10k on the 18th of this month and a half marathon in Jan. Like I said- running and/or training for the next run is a healthy distraction. Best of luck to u!
  19. Seriously! Victoria's secret is my best friend. First it's so much fun being able to shop there again. I love matching bras and panties. but secondly, my tatas and tush are kickin in their bras and panties. I love it (and so does the hubby )
