    Hamburger Patties

I'm sleeved. I couldn't eat hamburger patties for about 4.5 months post op. I'm able to eat them now, but I fill up quickly. I typically fill quickly with dense Protein. I love chicken breast and was able to tolerate that well at about 1.5 months- maybe closer to two. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    What Food Do You Miss?

What I miss the most is the ability to eat an appetizer when dining out. Don't get me wrong I don't want to eat a 1/4 or 1/2 of the darn thing- just maybe a bite or two, but I can't...I won't because I have to save room for the good stuff. I also miss the convenience of finding something to eat wherever I am. My new lifestyle takes a lot of planning. I pack a lunch with Snacks every day for work. I can totally relate to Butterthebean about reaching out to grab crap in the grocery store. It's odd. I will want something, but I think it's more of old habits that are refusing to die rather than me legitimately wanting junk food. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Six Months Out

50 pounds is a major accomplishment! Way to go! How many weeks have u gone without seeing the scale move? Are ur clothes fitting differently? I exercise like crazy and am mindful about my cals. I hit stalls pretty often, but they usually break after the three week mark. Keep plugging away and try not to compare urself to others. U really are doing great! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    March Roll Call!

Hi March Peeps! Happy six month surgiversary! I can't believe that it has been six months already. I'm doing great although I have been getting my hunger back. It feels like I'm starving at times. I am a "runner" <--- that cracks me up. Anyhow, I don't know how much of the appetite has to do with running. I've never needed an acid reducer, but I think I might talk to the doc at my six month follow up. I'm starting to get a freaked out by the amount of food that I have been eating. I now wear a comfortable size 8. I'm not quite a six. I did wear a size 20 in December of last year. I wear a medium top. I used to be a 2X. I'm so thrilled with being able to dress cute for work. Yay cute dresses and skirts! I'm LOVING Victoria Secrets and the ability to fit into youth exercise apparel! Lol! I love that I can do anything I want to in regards to physical activities. Kayaked and hiked to the top of Yosemite Falls! I'm running like crazy and I can run 9+ miles without having to stop to walk. That is INSANE! I can't believe how far I've come in such a short time. I'm 5'3 and my goal was 135. I'm 12 pounds from goal. Yay 147! I started at 235 and I was 212 on the day of my surgery. I am struggling a little but with body image issues. I still feel obese and I know that I'm not, however I'm a bit concerned about how preoccupied I am about the way my tatas, tush, and tummy look. Oh, how the triple T's taunt me?! Other than that- life is pretty darn good. I'm so happy to see everyone is doing great and having success as well. Let's get to goal! -Danyelle
  10. Hi! I took four weeks off. I was off before spring break and I returned when the kids came back. I teach sixth grade- SDC LH. My job can be very demanding. I definitely needed the four weeks. I was extremely tired, light headed, and an emotional mess.

    Any Horseback Riders?

So, I rode on Sunday!! I'm 88 pounds lighter and I forgot how to ride! Lol. I cannot trot. I almost bounced out of the saddle. I'm still hesitant about riding, but there was a bucket list thread where riding kept coming up. I figured it was time to get back in the saddle. My new goal is to ride at least once a week.

    Hispanic/latino Sleevers?

Yup! My hubby and I make chicken and cheese at home. I don't eat the tortilla. As for hot sauce- I love chips and salsa! I purchased some chips at trader joes. 6 grams of protein for seven chips. They r soy and flax seed. I get my fiber and my omega 3s while enjoying a not so good snack. I should switch to veggies altogether, but I love chips and salsa.

    Lettuce

I was told to wait too. I just waited it out. U would be amazed at how fast time flies. Hang in there!

    Whats On Your Bucket List?

Dirty girl in San Jose in October, baby! It will be my first time doing anything with obstacles. I'm a little hesitant, but heck I won't know if I can do something unless I try. Good luck with ur event in November!

    Chocolate Covered Bacon

So, chocolate and bacon is indeed very yummy. When I was a kid my great grandmother used to make chocolate gravy on Christmas and Easter. I LOVED dipping my bacon in the chocolate. Best combo ever! I'm very thankful that I don't know how to cook chocolate gravy or biscuits.

    Warrior Dash

A friend of mine tried to get me to do it! Google it and u will find some videos. Giant party atmosphere- u get horny (a la Viking hat) and a free beer when ur done. It's a 5k with obstacles- jumping over fire, climbing over a wall, mud pit... The obstacles vary per location.

    Slime.....

Hi! This would happen to me if I ate to quickly or didn't chew enough. I also found that I feel like if I ate anything fried (ie chicken strips) I would get the slimes as well.

    Red Meat?

Hi! I was eating carne asada at 5 weeks out. I couldn't tolerate hamburger until 4.5 months out. Hamburger made me feel horrible, so I switched to turkey patties. I was eating ground round beef at 5 weeks out as well. I agree with the other posters. Start slow and give it a try!

    When To Exercise?!

I run at least seven miles on tuesdays and thursdays. Im up to a little over nine on Sats! Yay 2 miles, I remember when u posted about starting c25k. That's awesome! Aack, shift work. That can be hard on the body if ur shifts r rotating. Heck, being on grave constantly can stink too. Before dawn workouts r the best! I like that it's out of the way for the rest of the day. I know that if I didn't do it in the am it would be way easy to put off in the afternoon.

    When To Exercise?!

I'm a morning person too! Get up at 4. Eat a small bowl of specialk protein cereal. Run from 5-630. Drink a protein shake and then take a wonderful shower and get ready for work. It works for me! I do this on Tuesday's and Thursday's. I also run on Sat for about two hours.
