Ha! We call it "chub rub"! I don't know when I stopped blowing out my crotches, but it did happen. All of my jeans are in tact! Sent from my iPhone using VST

I completed my first trail run yesterday! Oh my goodness, I am so sore today. The neat thing is my upper body is just as sore as my legs if not more! I completed a half marathon with an elevation change of 2,000+ feet. It was steep and muddy. I had to climb over several fallen trees. The scenery was amazing. All in all a freaking exciting adventure! I had no clue of how intense these runs are. The entire run was a challenge like no other. I have been considering doing a tough mudder this summer- HA! Who am I kidding?! I need to do several more trail runs like this and not feel like I'm going to die at the end. Lol! I highly recommend a trail run to spice up the running. My profile pic is me post race with my medal. The photo attached is pre-race.

Huh, I just started making shakes similar to this this week. My friend started me on this path. My ingredients are kale, wheat grass, carrots, plain chobani Greek yogurt, blueberries, banana, and strawberries. I guess it's time for me to add some different ingredients. Thanks for the post!! ADDICTED TO DIET COKE
danyelleb replied to msreaina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gave up caffeinated drinks on 12/26/12. No sodas, coffee, or tea. It was HARD and sometimes it still is. I think about soda when im at a restaraunt with friends or the hubs. For the longest my hubs was kind enough to buy only sodas that I didn't like and he refrained from the dr pepper. I LOVE dr pepper. He is a sweet man. It's possible to give it up though. I'd start now prior to surgery. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
When I drop my weight, I'm going to try (insert answer)!
danyelleb replied to PetraLuxor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And this is why I LOVE this site! Never heard of it until now. I had to google. That looks like a great time!! However, I must say my chant for last weekend was "stay upright!" and I was sober! Can't imagine chasing after someone after having a few. Lol. This is definitely something to look into for the summer time. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

On the couple occasions I did slime, it was because I ate too fast or ate fried food to early on in my diet. (fried chicken strips was the culprit- since then I pretty much have stayed away from fried foods) Slow down while eating. This should help if u don't overeat. Start measuring ur food. Good luck! 21 days post op - what did I do to myself?
danyelleb replied to steele160's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It gets better!! Hang in there. I struggled a lot with getting in my Water. I still sometimes have a hard time with this. I drink G2 to help liven up my fluid choices. Some people use those crystal light packets. I remember that I had to drink things at a tepid temperature for awhile. Try that. I love my sleeve and I remember feeling like I had some regrets within the first four weeks. It definitely got better for me. I hope it will for u too! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Hang in there! A lot of people struggle with this. U r not alone. Some say move or get rid of the scale. I can easily get sucked into this as well and I too feel discouraged if I'm seriously following docs orders and not seeing big losses. But with that being said, experience tells me that the numbers will move eventually. I have also learned to weigh myself no more than twice a week. This keeps discouragement at bay. The pounds will come off if ur following the docs orders. Sent from my iPhone using VST

IS IT TRUE AFTER 6 MONTHS
danyelleb replied to stellabug321's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, just like many of the above stated. I lost most of my weight within the first six months. Definitely take advantage of this time. After the six month mark ur stomach can hold more food. It seems like I could eat more dense Protein than I could earlier. The weight loss also started crawling when I got within 15 pounds or so to goal. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I agree, u r tiny!! Isn't that a great feeling?! Way to go. U will be at goal before u know it!! Sent from my iPhone using VST

HA! The sixth grade boy that resides in my head snickers every time I read a post about trusting a fart. Juvenile, yes. But I still find it comical. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Anyone Have A Relatively Easy Recovery Story?
danyelleb replied to Birdy18's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a relatively easy recovery as well. I slept in the recliner for about 4 days. The most discomfort I had was from getting in and out of bed once I transitioned to sleeping in my bed. I also had pain in my shoulder from gas. This is how I found VST! I'm kind of thankful that I had random gas pain in my shoulder. who knew?! Low energy levels and dizziness for the first four weeks or so. I had to seriously adjust to eating more slowly. I had the slimes a couple of times. I learned by trial and error about what foods to avoid. Had a couple emotional moments. I vaguely recall being like a ball of exposed nerves for a little bit (buyers remorse and mood swings). This was within the first four weeks. Adjusted to the random noises my new stomach made and voila! Back to normal but BETTER. I love my sleeve! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
1.5 pounds is not too shabby for a weeklong vacation. Just think of how much u would've gained had u not been sleeved. I have found that little weight gains come off quickly once I focus on eating right, getting my Water, and working out. It'll come off don't worry. Please don't let a 1.5 gain cloud over the greatness of a cruise. Sent from my iPhone using VST

danyelleb replied to chitowngirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Water intake is difficult for me too! I NEED to make a conscience effort to really push my water. Good luck with the boot camp. I hear it works! Sent from my iPhone using VST
