I made chili beans in the crock pot! I can't eat them but I strained bout 4 ounces of the juice/sauce for lunch and another 4 for dinner. it was soo good. It kept me full for such a long time! I'm still on full liquids, and this worked for me. My surg was 4/27/12.

And Lisa, that great!! I am so happy for you!

I'm going today to get some of those protein shots! I cannot handle the shakes anymore! I don't want to vomit! Today is day no.7. I need to get my protein in. Might go get some barbaric advantage vitamins so I don't have to take Flinstones twice a day. My 6 year old son is getting upset that I'm taking his vitamins, hehehe.

Wow! I'm newly banded, and that is an inspiration! -
I'm having a really hard time getting in my protein. As soon as I take a sip, I want to spit it up.

Wow, that's great! I was 260 & now I'm 249 & my surg. Was 4/27/12.

Congratulations!! Welcome to the other side. My post op diet was clear liquids for 2-3 days then protein based liquids for a week, then to mushies day 9-21. I'm going back to clear liquids today, hoping that it will calm the spasms in my esophagus down. But most doctors have different post-op diets. It's always best to check with them first before advancing your diet! I was banded 4/27/12. I was 272 when I started this process, 260 on surg. day, and 255 on Monday. And I still have some swelling, so I'm sure it will be more of a loss when it goes down. -
I'm so sorry that your in so much pain. I'm sure you'llbe up & around in no time! And good luck to Touria! I hope all goes well for you!! As for myself...I was banded on the 27th. Had a really rough start, but my pulse is staying up for the most part, and my vision is starting to clear up just a bit! Good luck to every1!!

Had my first day home. Was banded on the 27'th. Just got home from the hosp. Yesterday evening. I'm having esophageal spasms they're not that bad, they pass quickly. I can have full liquids now. Still having chest pain due to the gas, but even that has mostly subsided. So I went and ran errands today. Went & paid some bills, went to my work (dr.s office) just so they could see that I was okay. And went to the bank. Busy day! Good luck to every1 who has just had, or about to have their lapband world opened up for them.

Great news! I'm home! My pulse still really low, but high enough to let me go!
-
And sashaWLS thanks for putting that int perspective! The surgery itself went great. And complications are the rarity and not the norm. I still have wicked chest pain die to the gas. But even that has subsided a little.

What's touria said was absolutely right! Very good update...my heart rate is back up! I'm doing much better! They think I might get to go home today! I havent been on any pain meds, and honestly, haven't felt like I really needed them(not that I couldn't use it). My problems had nothing to do with the band itself! & I would never discourage anyone from their journey! Mine just had a rocky start is all! I'm ready to start mine!!

Well, now they can't get my heart rate up so they moved my to the cardiac/telemetry unit. Still got that wicked bad pain in my chest. They say if my heart rate doesn't come up, it'll be pacemaker time. Another surg...no way, especially if they gotta crack open my chest! I'm really scared. Every1 does so well @ this. Not me. Even if I'm having a hard time, doesn't mean every1 else will. I wish every1 luck who has started this. And thank you all for your support & encouragement.

K...I'm feeling much better & the air is finally moving. Doctor says my heart rate too low so they wanna do an EKG, just to make sure. Also, I haven't gotten any pain meds at all due to my heart rate being so low. But they seem pretty confident about me goin home.
-
Just found out that they repaired a hiatal hernia as well. But it's going well, pain is starting togodown more towards the abdome, but bearable. Feeling a lot less groggy! Just kind of tired now.
-
Than you soo much!
-
Sorry I didn't realize it had already sent
-
They're keeping me overnight, I threw up all the water, and my chest hurts real bad! It's late. But other than that, I'm okay.
-
Well vomited all that back up. Now they're gonna keep me overnight. I'm so groggy still like I wanna go to sleep but can't. My chest hurts really bad, especially when I try & breathe right. But other than that I'm great! Lol!
-
Sipping my water slowly!
-
Out of surg, and the nurse said I'm doing good. Pain in my chest from the air is bad.still groggy though.
-
I'm so excited for you Rebecca! You will do great!! Can't wait till its done already! I hate feeling scared and nervous! Anxiety is the worst. So glad that you get to go home though!
-

Today's the day! I'm scared and freaking out a bit. Especially after the posts yesterday. I know this will all be worth it in the end though! Thanks for every1's encouragements. I will let you all know as soon as I can!

Omg!! Surgery in 2 days and I'm starting to freak out! Am I sure I can do this?? I know it's just nerves but....it's surgery! All kinds of things going through my head. I was so excited and now I'm just nervous and scared. I know that if this works, I'm going to be so greatful. But how do I get over the nerves and fear?
