I have been overweight all my life and obese the majority of it. In fact, at age 45, I am, and have been for the past several years, considered morbidly obese. There was a short time in my life (about 2 years in high school) when I was a little less obese. I wore a size 12 (that is, a tight 12). Now I am sporting a 22-24 and daily life is no longer physically fun. I have tried almost every diet out there. Probably lost over a thousand pounds in my adult life alone, usually 50 to 80 pounds at a time...yes, I am able to loose the weight, only to gain it back just as quickly as I lost it. 20 years ago, I tried to get approval from my insurance to get a gastric bypass. I fought with the insurance company for months, went through the appeal process and still, no luck. I have always believed things happen for a reason. At the time, of course, we rarely know what that reason is, but today I believe it was because something better and moe safe was out there for me, I just had to be patient, and 100% mentally & physically ready for it...the LapBand. Although I am having to self pay, my dream is becoming a reality. I am looking forward to this wonderful tool to help me get my health back. I want to feel good about moving & it means more to me because I am paying for it myself. I am worth it and will work harder at success, when I am the one responsable for the cost, work & dedication. I want to be a more active wife & mother. My surgery is schedule for March 28, 2012 and I am very excited!!
