So I found out yesterday when I signed my consent that my co-payment for the hospital stay is $250.00. How sweet is it that the owner of my company said he is going to pay it for me because he is so proud of what I am doing to improve myself and my health. God is truly good, all the time.

Thyckness718 commented on Thyckness718's blog entry in Thyckness718's Blog
Hi Velena, I am doing good and you? I am coming up on my second week on my pre op diet and I am doing great and am not craving anything, thank God. I am having my surgery done in the Bronx at Montifiere hopsital and I am so excited. I am going today to get my blood work done and do my pre op class, and tomorrow I get the clearance from my PCP. Can you believe it is next week, talk about right around the corner. -

I am on the 5th and been on my pre-op for 6 days now, and I must say so far so good. -

So, I just came from my surgeon and NUT appts. I signed my consent form, and I saw my NUT. Now only thing I have to do is call my PCP tomorrow and get clearance from him. I was given my pre op diet and I asked when can I start it. I almost hit the floor when I was told tomorrow. Hopefully I will have my surgery date by the end of the week, and have to stay on the diet until then. It's honestly not too bad. It consists of 3 protein shakes per day, For my snack a cup of sugar free, fat free/low fat yogurt and a piece of fruit. Plus a sensible meal that is 6 oz of meat, 2 servings of bread/starch 1 cup of veggies, 1 cup of salad greens with two tablespoons of low fat salad dressing. Considering what alot of other people pre-op diets are, this is really great. Well it sounds great, let us see how it is when I start it*lol*

I am feeling sad. My niece and I started this WLS journey a few months apart, to be honest it is because of her wanting the surgery, that I started looking into it and decided that it was the best thing for me. Well I called her excited telling her about tomorrow and me signing the consent and now she is talking about she might not have her gastric sleeve. Issues has come up along the way for her, she has gall stones, something may be wrong with her kidneys(they have to test it again) and she have a low B1 level. So now she is saying if she doesn't have surgery this year she isn't going to have it. I feel as if my balloon has been deflated and tried to give her a pep talk and she said that she doesn't want to hear it. I feel so guilty that everything is going smoothly for me and not for her, I don't want her to be mad at me, especially since it is sorta because of her that I decided to do this. I don't know what to do, is it wrong that I am still excited for me? I am just confused right now, any advice will truly be appreciated.

It's Too Early To Be Overwhelmed Or Impatient...
Thyckness718 commented on makemyownluck's blog entry in I'll make my own luck
I won't give you a pep talk because we have all been thru this. So you know the end result will be worth it. So instead I am sending you a big ole HUG. Feel better soon. -
Even though I have a couple of months left before I get sleeved, I want to start buying lil things now so when I do have my date, I will mostly have everything I need already in the house. What was some things that you guys bought for your surgery and actually used. I know I am definitely going to get a pill crusher because I was told that is a must have.
-
Sounds like a great weekend, and you have everything ready and in order for your surgery. Good luck with your upcoming surgery and keep up the great attitude.
-
Congraulations, and I love this post. You have said everything in a nutshell. I can not wait until I get sleeved because I know it is one of the best decisions that I am or will every make. It is not an easy fix to weight loss and yes we will still have to work hard, but it is definitely the tool we need to get where we want to be. Good luck on your journey and doesn't it feel amazing to love yourself.

15 Days To Go ...and I Realize Im Scared
Thyckness718 replied to angelofmercy36's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had my surgery yet, but I am sure this is something that everyone has went/or will go thru. I had my gall bladder removed also and I was in so muh pain before hand it didn't even bother me*lol*. Do not be scared, just keep in mind that you are doing this to be healthier, feel better, and to LIVE a longer and better life. Just pray on it and God will see you thru. Also you have all of us to support you andgive you words of encouragement if and when you need them. This is a big step and it is literally right around the corner for you so of course being scared is normal, but girl think about the new you when this is all over it and know that it is going to be so worth it. Good luck*HUGS* -

Thyckness718 replied to My Mission to be Skinny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wish I had an answer for you but unfortunately I didn't get sleeved yet. I just wanted to say congrats for being on the losers bench. It might just be head hunger because your body is used to food. From reading alot of posts up here I heard that drinking hot stuff I.E broth and tea helps with that feeling. -
Welcome to the group and congrats on the journey you are taking with the rest of us.

What an excellent idea to start this group and to open it up to us. I am the newest member and am from the Bronx. I just wanted to say hi and you will be hearing from me up here*lol*
