March And April Sleevers How Are You Doing? What Are You Really Eating? (Confessions)
jlweb23 replied to Anewlifeforme23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved march 8th..went from 203 on surgery day to 166 today! I am dropping clothes sizes like flies! Lol. I eat one egg with melted chedder on top for breakfast. If i have coffee, i add a scoop of isopure powder andsplenda. Lunch is a slice of chedder cheese abd 2 slices of deli chicken. Snack in afternoon is maybe a greek yogurt or nuts . Dinner is some kind of chicken or whatever my husband made.. I just eat the protien part of it. I dont even want to eat all the carbs i used to eat:) -

March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?
jlweb23 replied to DDFinn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved march 8th. Lost a pound a day for first 2 weeks, and nothing for the past 2 weeks:( i did go down 2 pants sizes though:) i just wish the scale would move even a tiny bit!! -
All he really had to say about the pain is that the stapler was in the right side, so it will hurt more over there. Didnt seem too concerned, and said i have abdolutely no restrictions to what i can do now. Obviously i will listen to my body, and if it hurts, wont do it ! He also said i can skip my last week of purreed and 2 weeks of soft and just eat what i can tolerate i told him I was a bit discouraged about only losing 17 lbs in a month since surgery, but he said 6 lbs per month is a more realistic goal for me since my bmi was barely 35 to start..? Not sure how i feel about that.. Excited to finally eat though! Ha!

I am at the docs for my 1 month post op now . We'll see what he says:)

Anybody else still having pain? I felt pretty good last week but the past few days i have burning/ pulling on my belly- right side again. Kindof between 2 incisions. This is the only spot that ever really hurt all along.. Nothing major, but sore

I have 6 weeks off, due to lifting restrictions. I am a floor nurse, and employer says must be free from any restriction , or at least 40 lbs before returning, which is 6 weeks.

What do you typically eat in a day to get enough protein/ liquid in ? It doesnt seem possible to eat enough with the amount of protien in such small quantities of food. Will i need to drink protein shakes forever? I bought a big thing of isopure unflavored powder to add to my food but its so gross!
-
How does anyone get enough liquid and protein in? It takes me literally all day to sip 3 protein shakes (which thankfully now stay in my tummy) that is only 330 cslories and 51 grams protein. I have to force myself to keep drinking them. Do you eat food just to get used to eating? Because i dont know when there is time to add more and i feel super full all the time. I can start purees today. I ate some refried beans with melted cheese, but then without drinking before and after i am behind on liquids and even more on protein now. A few bites of beans has barely nothing in it, lol. How do you get enough nutrition and fluid once you start eating?

Whoo Hoo! My First Post-Op Meal Went Smoothly!
jlweb23 replied to Liberated Sleeve's topic in Food and Nutrition
Yum! I can't wait to eat an egg!! After my 8 days of clears, and 2 weeks of full liquid, i am suppposed to have 2 more weeks of pureed before eating real food:( sounds kinda dumb to me, because if you chew really good, anything turns pureed! Wonder why all of the doctors have such a big difference in their post op diets?? -
30 lbs in 3 weeks is alot! not even 3 weeks, actually! Just think, 30 pounds is the same as 120 sticks of butter!!
