I have had some "bad stuff" here and there.... To me moderation is the key. I got some nuggets from ChikFila and managed to get 3 of them down and felt stuffed..... not sick.. but they were good and solid protein. I have also had one oreo which was okay but my belly burned a lil after (Acid). I have had about 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream with some sliced strawberries and that went down good as well. But... I don't crave the sweets. If I want something sweet I eat it and the craving is gone very quick. Not like before sleeve when I would eat 8-10 Oreos or a big piece of cake AND ice cream..... Bread sits okay on my belly as well but it's very filling so I try not to eat it often. I started eating some of the different foods mainly because I was curious and wanted to see how my new belly tolerated it. Kinda glad that I did cause I now realize that I don't need it and could really care less about eating an Oreo ever again.. The desire just isn't there for me anymore. Guess that is a good thing right??

Some Dr's use them.... some don't. My doctor swears by drains.. Said it serves multiple purposes, helps with gas, nausea etc.... I would say he was right because I had zero gas and zero nausea...

Mine was a little hole as well and it did drain... just a lil bit... nothing that a small bandage wouldn't take care of. Don't scrub it.. just rub light soap and water over it. Don't worry.. it will scab over. If you want, go ahead and put a band aid over it until you feel comfortable...But keep it clean. My drain hole was the last one to heal. It's hardly noticeable now though...

Dr. Ortiz IS AMAZING!!! ! He did my sleeve surgery April 16th and I just adore him!!! I haven't had a single issue! Good Luck!

I love salads and it was one of the biggest things I missed after surgery. I tried at 6 weeks post op and everything went down fine. I had no issues at all and tend to eat at least one small salad with grilled chicken or salmon every day.

Why not Mexico??? I come from a medical family and I as well as they were all supportive of my decision to go to Mexico. I had exclusions on my insurance and WLS was not covered at all. My PCP here in the states was also supportive and agreed to do all of my aftercare which is really none other than twice yearly lab work. My sister is a nurse practitioner at Shock Trauma in Baltimore and the surgeon that she works for (Chief of Staff) knew of my surgeon and highly recommended him! My surgeon is Harvard trained and even trained the surgeons at Johns Hopkins and many other hospitals in the US. He changed my life and I am so glad that I chose him!!!! Obviously, this is a personal decision but if you do your research you will learn that some of the best Bariatric surgeons are in Mexico!! Good Luck!

debellafunk is right!!! Try a G2, Powerade or Pedialyte!! When I was feeling tired I sipped an entire bottle and felt better within the hour..... You need to make sure you are hydrating yourself and getting some nourishment!! Good Luck!

A drain serves multiple purposes and I am glad that I had one. I had my surgery on a Monday and my drain came on on Thursday. Wasn't a big deal, didn't hurt when it came out, etc.... I had no gas and no nausea and I personally feel that the drain had something to do with it. My surgeon agrees as well. Good Luck!

I am 2 months out and I also had no pain... Just mild soreness (imagine doing 100 crunches). I also had no gas or nausea.... It was like I never even had surgery...... Truly Amazing!! Good Luck!

I wasn't nauseous at all.... no gas either.... Your nurse should administer Zofran or another anti-nausea med in your IV before surgery.

Mine didn't start until about a month out. I take Zantac 150 daily and keep Tumms on hand.. It's the only side effect that I have had.

I emptied it and then let it dangle... no problems.....

I was taking pills roughly 2 days after my surgery..... no problems at all! Good Luck!

Have you tried low carb??? I committed to losing 15lbs before my surgery and I lost 17lbs following Atkins Phase 1. Took me about 5 weeks. Good Luck!

I have sleep Apnea and had my surgery in Mexico. I was very groggy in recovery and my O2 levels kept dropping due to my Apnea but all in all I was fine. I didn't have my cpap machine yet so I didn't have it to bring. If you have one i would suggest bringing it with you. Good Luck!

I started early... I wanted to get "mentally prepared" and in the "zone" as soon as I could... I would say about a month pre-op with the last 2 weeks following to a tee.

I committed to dropping 15 lbs before surgery and I followed a low-carb diet (Atkins Stage 1) and dropped 17 lbs. There was no way that I could have stuck to a liquid diet before surgery and I'm grateful that my surgeon didn't require it.

I can actually take a pretty big drink... some would even say a gulp..... I try not too but it happens.... no problems at all....

I was a week late as well......

Same thing happened to me..... BUT I was losing INCHES!!! I stalled for a good 2 -2 1/2 weeks.
