My suggestion for the first time is to find a nice spa on Yelp with good ratings. Don't go for the $35 chain places or nail salons for the first time. Spas are more relaxing and strive more on customer satisfaction than a salon where the prices are low.

Brazillian is the way to go! I used to go every 4 weeks but after the hair stopped growing as quick, I moved to 5-6 weeks. The hair must be at least 1/2" per my salon. If it is too long, then they will trim it. Also, some salons will offer some kind of cream to numb it a little. In my opinion, it wasn't worth it. The first time, I was a bit skeptical but these ladies are professional. I love the outcome and I am thinking about adding my armpits to the regimen. Oh, and wait 24hours before sex if possible. I believe my salon says no baths either for 24hrs (you can take a shower but don't scrub there)

Mexico 99% Garcia 1% Unsure

I personally wanted Dr. Rodriguez but chose Dr. Garcia. If I was going to pay that much, I would pay a little more and just get it done here in the states. -
Dr Garcia Tijuana Patient Stats?
LezzieLez replied to TAB2012's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I hate soap operas.. **Changes channel** Happy Being Thankful Day everyone!!! I am personally thankful for everyone on here for being you. The mixture of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences are a great resource of information and fresh ways to think about making this decision. Good or bad, we need the information. I don't care if it is gift wrapped or slapped on my forehead. -
Exactly 3 months to go.. When I feel defeated, I reach for food. When I am pissed, I say "i need a drink". When I am sad, someone may get lucky. I wonder what I am going to do when the equilibrium is thrown off?

I despise liars. I wouldn't stoop to her level and say something rude, but I would secretly wish the fat fairies left a huge deposit for her overnight. Water Aerobics? Yes, water aerobics, a couple of Beans, a hell of a climb up that beanstalk, and to a surgeon (or gym). I respect privacy, but she needs to get her story together.

Dr. Fernando Garcia
LezzieLez replied to Jarrod1997's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am ok, still counting down.. 93 days (or 3 full months) to go. I was approved for a loan yesterday but after seeing that I will be paying so much in interest, I will just hold off and pay for it when I have the cash. I am glad things are going so well! I only have a full week off then going back to work for 1/2 days for another week. -

Rapidly Gaining Weight 2 Years Post Op Sleeve Surgery
LezzieLez replied to nikki042's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Also, I believe that you will get through this! You were strong enough to head to Mexicali, get active, and drop the weight. You are strong enough to get back on track and pull yourself over this hurdle! Hugs! -
Rapidly Gaining Weight 2 Years Post Op Sleeve Surgery
LezzieLez replied to nikki042's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
OMG - FINALLY!!!! Hey Nikki, I am pre-op and asked about this type of situation in the forum twice and no one answered. I am guessing its the "elephant in the room" situation. So I have to thank you - with all of my heart for this posting. I am an emotional eater and am getting sleeved in February. I know I can lose the weight but also know my emotions are stronger than my will power (hence me being 314lbs). I was hoping that the surgery would help me get down to my goal weight and my emotions become controllable with help from a therapist. Now the reality of how hard it will be to maintain is out there, I will work from now to seek professional help. Thanks again Nikki! -

Thanks for writing this out! -
Well since she said everything I was thinking ( and way more great points), just want to say your pics are really pretty. Your style rocks and I can just imagine how great you would look in a pinup style "after" picture!

Drama. Drama. Who's Got The Drama?
LezzieLez replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Ok, here is my view and I hope that I do not worry you further but.... Unless I am missing something, there isn't a review board or website that tells us how many deaths these surgeons have on their belts. We can ask them and they can tell us 1 or 100 - and we won't ever know the truth. I personally think Dr. Garcia's 1 is pure bullsh!t. 1 is so easy to say, and its excusable to us since we know that he has completed thousands of surgeries. Also, their total will not include the people who flew home and died or had complications. And will they ever take the responsibility for the death when everything looked good before leaving Mexico? NO We know the risks of the surgery in addition to the added risks associated with Medical Tourism. It is obvious that Dr. Garcia is a reputable surgeon (as well as the other 4-5 popular picks on the board) so I think it comes down to our pre-existing conditions, following the dietary guidelines, and the 1%. -
Beliteweight And Dr Rodriguez
LezzieLez replied to Marquel's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr. Rod is a great choice! His credentials are outstanding and a lot of his certification and post doctoral education was in the states! Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!! Take one step at a time, and you will be fine. -

Sorry I was slacking off on my homework last night.. Yes, I am going to Dr. Garcia on Feb 21st along with SweetTea (I hope I have your tag name right..) -
Great!! I am sure you will find someone on here having the surgery the same week. Did you choose a surgeon? As time gets closer, there will be more people getting it done around that time surfacing! 100 days is too far for my liking, but I am out of onederland finally... tee hee *giggles*
