I Think I Am Eating Too Much

Wow thats amazing I am almost 23 weeks out and I still can only eat 1/2C. I understand the size of the new stomach is different with each surgeon. The hunger feeling can be from gas some of the others have mentioned gas feels like hunger so I got gasX and it helped squash that feeling. You really have a great weight loss already hope you have continued success.
  2. I lived on split pea and lentil soup as well as vegatarian refried beans with cheese and a little sour cream or other beans they have good protein also I found a beneprotein powder at Walmart a small scoop has 6gms. protein which does not have flavor and I added that to cooked cereal in morning and to my soups. I also used soy milk to make my cooked cereal in the morning to add a little more protein. Good luck!

    Shake Help

My surgical group did not recommend the protein shakes at first. They said our bodies have enough nutrients stored to get us by during the fluids only time. If you are able to drink your other fluids, soups, popcicles, etc. without problems you should maybe give it a few days then try again. When I started protein drinks I used Muscle Milk light and didn't keep them in the frig. they are not as thick if they are room temp. Hope things go well. Remember our motto always be sipping!!
  4. Might be time to step back and remember why you chose this journey. For me it was the diabetes which was taking over my life. I have not had to take meds. since I left the hospital. I am 3 1/2 mo. out. The weight loss is a bonus! I was started on Previced 40mg. daily when I left the hospital I also had much pain on my right shoulder and back the nurse told me to get gas-x she said patients tried this and it helped I took it after meals. She also said to walk as much as I could as this would help get the gas out. If your pain lower on the right side and you still have the gallbladder might be something to consider. With all that constant pain probably should contact Dr. In another 2 weeks you will be amazed how much better you feel!! You are not alone.

    Portion Distortion,me Or Them?

I am 9 weeks out I can eat what I want now I don't eat sugary foods or junk foods but I eat meals like my family 2-4 oz. meat 1/2 sm. potato. Vegtables are still hard for me to fit in I eat around 1/2 cup each meal. I understand by 1 yr. out maybe 3/4 - 1 cup at a time. Sometimes I can eat a little more than that I think my stomach is more efficient now at moving foods thru. Just chew, chew, chew, good luck to you.
