    Eating Out With The Band?

For some reason I have a difficult time eating out. It's not enough time or the first bite syndrome, or the simple fact I can't get up and walk around to get things through. It also could be the fact that I have had a stressful day and can't eat period. Idk. Either way, whatever I order always comes home and either myself or my hubby eats it for leftovers.

    Stiches! Help.

Maybe one of the nurses on here will reply. I'm not a nurse but if I recall correctly, the tape fell off on its own. My follow up appt they removed the tape or cut the strips that we're loose off and then put a bandaide over them.

    Out Of Surgery!

It's good that you already have Fluid. Please be extra careful not to over eat. Chew your food to mush and follow your doctors orders. You won't have the luxury of learning how eat with little restriction. I was started with 5cc. 3 years ago. I didn't have this site or the information that I do now. I thought that "sliming" and "PBing" we're going to be the norm of my banded life. Now I know differently. Best of luck to you and congrats on your new birthday!
  8. It's called premier protein. Comes in chocolate and vanilla. Not sure about strawberry. I make smoothies with mine and add peanut butter and yogurt to up the protein. I do not know how to do the ticker thing. Sorry. Best of luck!
  9. Good luck!!! It will all be over before you know it! Keep up on your pain Meds the first couple of days. Hard to catch up on any pain if you wait too long! Will be thinking of you!
  10. Try going on liquids for a week again. Stop the irritation of the band. Let it rest. Then go back to mushed and then solid foods. This has helped me a lot. Once I've irritated the band it becomes swollen, causing the fbs and inability to eat properly. You can try this before going for an unfill. Indications that I too tight was a night cough and choking feeling with massive heartburn. Good luck.

    Silly Question???

My stomach doesn't grumble but I get these weird internal burps of sorts. Hard to explain. No rhyme or n to it. I'm 3 years post op. figured it's part of life.

    April Bandsters!

NPO after midnight the night before. Be there at 11:15, surgery @ 12:15 - plan to be there between 3 and 4 hours. Kinda gross, but also don't forget to clean your belly button... That is usually one of the incision sites. They will clean it for you also but I am amazed what comes out of it...
  13. You might want to try and journal an emotion with that as well. It will help you decide it it is head hunger or you are truly hungry.

    Good Protein Shakes

I also use the premier Protein shakes... Lately, after some suggestion on here I am using those shakes and making smoothies. My favorite is: 1 chocolate shake (11oz) 1 banana 2tbsp of chunky Peanut Butter 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt A handful of ice Blend in a food processor or blender. Close to 40 grams of protein if I don't share it!!

    March Bandsters!

    Judy, I also added you!
  16. Your body has been through a significant change. These feelings are normal. All though I didn't have to self pay I had a significant out of pocket expense. Decided that I wasn't going to waste that money and it was my motivation to do well. Your health, your children are worth it, and so is he money in the long term! Hang in there. Get some rest!

    March Bandsters!

You guys are probably not getting enough food. Increase you calories a bit....log your calories so you have concrete proof. When working out you are burning more fuel...you have to eat to lose weight. Don't want your body going into starvation mode. 7 weeks post op it sounds like your body is adjusting to shock and so it's time to tune up your eating. Change things up! :-) give it another shock! Haha
  18. You can still be in the sweet spot with a small unfill. I was experiencing the same thing and a .2cc unfil made all the difference in the world. I am able to eat, can go for hours upon end w/o eating and no reflux, PBing, or vomiting!!! Good luck!

    Help!

My doctor has told me that anytime I vomit, I must go back to liquids for 24-48 hours to reduce swelling. It does sound like it is a bit to tight though. Please don't think your symptoms are normal. The band is only a tool for weight loss...it is not supposed to make you miserable and unable to eat. Hope you feel better soon.

5Cc In Band And Not Satisfied

I personally have lost 74 lbs since I was banded in 4/09. I became complacent and so I have recommitted to losing the remaining 30-40 lbs. now that I believe my band is where it needs to be ( and i started exercising) I won't have the issues I was having before and will be able to lose the rest of my weight by the end of the year. :-)
