I've struggles with my weight all my life but it significantly became a bigger issue after I was dianosed with a brain tumor at age 15. After high school I continued to gain up to almost 380 pounds. After speaking to my womens health dr in the fall of 2012, she told me I was now pre diabetic, developed a heart murmur from extremely high and dangerous blood pressure and was at risk for never being able to have children I decided it was time I changed.
After saving for half of the amount I went to a pre op meeting and the process started. My surgery date was May 12, 2011 and I now consider that date the day I was "re-born." This decision has given me a second chance at life and although it's been a hard time a difficult change I'm so grateful.
I've lost almost 100 pounds, am no longer pre diabetic, have more energy, and my blood pressure is almost normal.
I still have a ways to go but even with the 100 pound weightloss, I'm happier, more outgoing and I'm loving the way I'm starting to look!
