    It's Sad...

I am also thinking of working with a bariatric surgeon or something similar when I graduate. The need is just out of proportion. 4Abetterlife.... You will make it! You have come so far already, if anyone. Will make it is you! Remember I am always here for you, anytime you got my number.

    Curious

I found a chart that says between 99 and 121 pounds http://www.rush.edu/rumc/page-1108048103230.html I am not sure how long it might take you to acchive it, it depends on a lot of things like your current weight, level of activity, metabolism and how closely you follow your pre and post op diets as well as other factors. Good luck!

    Any May Sleevers Yet?

Oh for congestion those nasal Nettie pot work great. They are just warm water and salt rinse. Or put your face over some steam the steam helps loosen that stuff up.

Oh I thought I did! I need to look at it again. I know I did say something about it in the middle somewhere. Maybe adding it to the comments would do it? I will definitely ad it to my next ones at the beginning and end.

    Sleeve Revision In Mexico

It takes a long time for the stomach to be streched, but its definetly possible. Its actually more likely that the first time they did the surgery they used a very big buggie for the sleeve.

    Sleeve Revision In Mexico

Dr. Ponce De Leon has been a surgeon for over 20 years in Tijuana Mexico. He does the re-sleeve surgery along with sleeve, bypass and other bariatric and other types of surgeries. He is a teacher also and has thought the sleeve to many Mexican surgeons as well as other surgeries. His coordinator is Trish you can contact her at 661-886-4617 her website is http://www.wls4bette....com/index.html

    Any May Sleevers Yet?

yes and know. They can measure the liver size but that only gives an extimate liver size. You should always be honest with your surgeon because your life depends on it (literally). Dieting before surgery is specially important if your BMI is over 40, because then your liver is already much larger. I would say do your best to follow the diet, but don't be too hard on yourself if you cheat sometimes. The cheating is specially important not to do right after surgery because of leak risks

    Any May Sleevers Yet?

it is about the liver reducing in size, if its too big they will not do your surgery. I heard of people going into surgery and coming out either with a big scar because they did an open surgery or with their whole stomach because they could not do it laporascopically.
  19. I would also see if you can get the levanox from Mexico, drugs there are a lot cheaper! Ask Dr. Garcia and see what he says about getting them there and taking them home with you if your cardiologist approves it.

Summer Is Just Around The Corner

Suzanne, I am sorry if I have offended you, that was never my intention. I was only giving my opinion. We are all here to support each other, I will privately message you to let you know what from your post I found to be talking bad about Mexican Surgeons, I don't think you meant it that way but its just the way it read to me. Perhaps I should had done that in the first place. Thanks for all the help you have provided to others.
  21. I am very nervous too and cannot wait! Is it one of the portable DVD players? If so that should be great! I hear many people do feel like going shopping and such, I am sure Trish will take care of you both. There is also a museum near by and other stuff that you might be able to seat for. At the hotel there is a pool and gym for him. I am very excited for you, I hope all goes well!

Summer Is Just Around The Corner

Finding Myself, I dont doubt Suzanne is nice and means well but to me the post sounds like she is putting all Mexican surgeons (with the exception of Dr. Aceves) down. There are many many things that make someone a great surgeon and I just want to make sure others that read this post take that into account. There are certainly a ton of very scary surgeons and places, and there are most certainly some I would avoid no matter how desperate I was and is wonderful to let people be aware of that. Suzanne I also am in the medical field and have been for quite a while, and hospitals are not a good place because there are many sick people there and thus the nosocomial infection risk. You are right that is the best place to be if you are sick but most people after two days are pretty well. I do understand that given your age and preference having 4 days to recuperate in the hospital was better for you and that is wonderful. If I wanted more time in the hospital my surgeon (Dr. Ponce De Leon) would also acomodate that, but for me personally its not nessesary. I also get a leak test before being released and get a video of that plus a video of my surgery. My surgeon also uses top of the line staples and materials, as well has been a surgeon for over 20 years and has done the sleeve for ~7. He is also a teacher and has taught Many Mexican surgeons and continues to do so, has a matter fact today and until Thursday he is the main speaker of a bariatric conference in Mexico. I know that since Dr. Aceves was your surgeon you are biased towards him and that is understandable and admirable. Do please keep in mind that there are many other wonderful surgeons in Mexico, and of course there are also many that I would not allow near me. Thank you for your good wishes and I hope the same for you :-)

Summer Is Just Around The Corner

I agree with Sharon, and most if not all the surgeries here in the USA for VSG you are released within 2 days. So I personally don't see the need of being in a hospital longer than two days. In actuality the longer you are in a hospital the more likely you are to get a nosocomial infection. Research shows that. I agree with you that everyone should do their research and decide for themselves.
  25. Yes you should be there one hour before your flight for national flights and two for international. But that is to make sure you get thru security and all that on time.
