Hi neighbor! I was banded by Dr. Simpson in March. I live in the north valley - off Happy Valley and belong to Mountainside. :-)

What Am I Doing Wrong? Please Help!

Ok, thanks. It just crazy that I only had 2cc at my first fill and then 1 at my second fill. Totally surprised that I would be this restricted with only 3cc's but what do I know.
  3. I was banded on 3/20/12. I receievd my first fill 4 weeks post op and had no problems or restriction. Four weeks later, eight weeks after surgery I receieved my second fill, this was last Friday. I was able to drink water in the office and continue to do fine with liquids. However, I have had to vomit everyday, at least once a day since Friday. All episodes are during meals, usually after 5-6 bites. I thought I was eating too fast the first few days so I have slowed down considerably, chewing 30 times per bite. I start to feel this pressure, then hear the gurgleing and then them pain. Please help I can't live like this. Breakfast bars, protein shakes are fine. But anything else........ Thanks!
  4. I am 4 weeks post op. Actually going for first fill today... hopefully. I lost 15 pounds during the liquid diet and then just maintained. Normally, I go down a size with a 20 pound weight loss (obviously I've done this several times!..lol) but yesterday I noticied my shorts were loose. Yep, went down a size. Then today the same thing happened. I tried on an even smaller size and although they are a little tight they fit! How can that be? I haven't lost anymore weight. And they are all Lane Bryant as I know some brands runs larger, ect. No complaining but definitely strange!
  5. I am almost 4 weeks post op. I lost 15 pounds the two weeks following surgery on the liquid diet. I've maintained that weight loss but have not lost anything else. I seem o be able to eat whatever I want but in much smaller portions. I'm still learning the difference between head hunger and real hunger and sometimes over eat. I go to my first doc appt next week but I don't know if I'll get a fill. Should I be losing more weight? I know I need to drink more fluid but just can't seem to drink water like I used to. I guess I just don't know where I should be 4 weeks out. Thanks.
  6. I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I'm almost back to normal with the exception of bad bloating and constipation - on mushy food. Also, every once in awhile. Will get a sharp pain at the port site. Is this normal?
  7. I need to remember my vitamins!

Congrats! Please share your secret. I was banded on the 20th too and I'm down 11-12 pounds. I barely eat so I don't know what else I can do to aid the weight loss.
  9. Does anyone else feel this way? I'm so tired! I have no energy and I feel like I could sleep all day. I'm trying to get all my protein in but frankly I don't have much of an appetite either. :-(

    17 Days Post-Op

Brandi - did they tell you you would get a fill that day? I have my first appt on 4/19. I wonder if I'll get a fill or if they will schedule it then?

    17 Days Post-Op

Yay! I'm 9 days out but I'm still on liquids for another week and a half! I'm so ready to EAT! Down 10 pounds and hoping for more....... good luck!
  12. I was banded by him on March 20, 2012. So far so good!
  13. I'm 8 days post op and finally feeling great! My doc says 3 weeks liquid diet, 1 week soft and then normal. Now that I'm feeling better I want to eat! I do get satisfied on a small yogurt or soup but I honestly don't know if I can make it to 21 days! I wish my doc only had a 2 week post op like most of the others. I wonder why there is such difference of opinion among docs. Any thoughts?
  14. Has anyone expierenced bad pain from their IV? I'm a week post op and received an IV in my hand for surgery. It's been tender for the last several days but today it is just down right painful. I can't bend my wrist at all! The pain in not where the puncture site was on the hand but 2-3 inches up on my wrist. I emailed my doc today who said I may have a hematoma. He suggested I used a heat compress and if it get worse to go to Urgent Care. Ugh - if the recovery from surgery isn't enough!
  15. Today is much better! Thanks for all the support!
