    Banded 3/13/12

I am 6 days post op and still having that too. I think it is soreness right where the band is placed, kinda like I can actually feel the band there. It is probably worth a call to your doc though, to be sure it isn't lung stuff which can happen after surgeries.

I have been crushing most of my pills and swollowing with applesauce in one big bite. But my Surgeon wants me taking Prilosec and hubby accidentally bought me the time release version which can't be crushed, so I have swallowed those whole and they have gone down fine, but this will depend on your fill amount of course, I only have like 2.2 cc's in a 10 cc band right now since surgery was just Tuesday!

Stay with the unjury for the chicken Soup flavor and the plain, since I think their PLAIN is much more PLAIN than the others I have found. But I use Body Fortress (walmart) they have strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, Cookies and creme, and Peanut Butter chocolate all very good and run $14.95 to 19.95 depending on the concentrate or isolate version. 21 servings per container. Also no shipping fees, so considerable savings.

I am feeling pretty good today on day 5. I am mostly still doing liquids, but some cream of wheat today, and some pudding, and then my family went out for dinner and I had a scrambled egg and some chicken noodle soup which I chewed forever and sipped the liquid out of. It all seemed to go down fine. So far so good. I noticed there seem to be ALOT of us that got banded this week. Maybe we should form our own little groupie and coast together!

Mine are 8, 4, and just turned 2. The Two is Really super TWO, and killing me. But I have always had a high tolerance for surgery. Don't get me wrong, the inscisions really hurt. And the gas has been awful (they told me a week too) this time around, slowly getting better. But it doesn't seem to matter if I am in bed or doing normal stuff, I still feel the same, so I might as well do normal stuff, besides the fact that I flat just don't have anyone else to do it all. No local family. My best friend is overwhelmed with her own life, so it's ok. I guess the whole point of this is taking care of myself anyway, right. I am just looking forward to the lighter days when I don't have to drag around 100 extra pounds while doing it all. The bell thing is cute....really. I am going to do that one day and see what happens.... I am so glad you have a lot of support. I think for the most part that will only help your journey along!

Oh, I'm OK. I could have stayed at the hotel another night, but hubby has not been particularly excited about the whole band thing, really wished I wouldn't do it, but thats a whole other story. And so I was trying to make this as quick and painless for him as possible. While I was gone he had to handle things at home by himself and that is super hard when he's supposed to leave for work before daycare even opens. We are self-pay for the surgery, so really cannot afford for either of us to take time off of work. I am a teacher and scheduled this for my spring break. It will be good to have people on here to talk to about the surgery and process. I just counted and I am up to 1195 calories full liquid and 122protien on day 4 which I am afraid is probably too much. On another note, my best friend's mother in law came and took her two little kids away for the weekend, JUST CAUSE....which made me cry with jealousy. Never in my life has someone done that for me. She has no idea how awesome that is.

    Banded 3/13/12

Hi, We're band twinsies.....I was banded 3/13/12 also. I have been feeling fine except gas pain and soreness at incisions. I walked 20 blocks to the surgery that morning from my hotel room because I was alone in a different town. Stayed off the pain meds so I could drive myself three hours home the next day and have been at home helping take care of my 3 kids since. (I did take them to daycare during the day so I could rest.) But as far as taking it easy, there's not much of that available to me. I'm a full time working mom of 3, also getting a master's degree on the side. It's back in the saddle for work on Monday. I can drink more full liquids than I should I think, I have been able to pretty much keep pace with the pre-surgery liquid diet. My doc did fill my band about 2cc's in a 10 cc band during surgery. And my first fill is set for 4/21. I just wanted to speak up since we are banded on the same day, would be fun to compare notes over time. Smiles, Amanda
