Hi! I feel pretty good about it eventhough surgery is a month away. I know it is a tool to help me become healthier by getting off this blood pressure medicine.

Congrats to all of you who are before me. My surgery is on Aug 30th in Houston TX. I wish you all well and a speedy recovery!!

Just like smithpy stated “it is okay to go below but not way below”. It's more like they want to see that you've tried to lose the weight under the supervision of a nutritionist. I only lost 12lbs in 3mos.. smh.. I really was trying but I have a love, hate relationship with anything that is made of chocolate.. I just couldn't seem to give him up during that time... LOL You will do just fine and get your approval..

Hi! I have Federal BCBS and that was also my major concern being denied. I do have a co-morbidity (high blood pressure) and my starting BMI was 40.1 but has since went down with losing some weight during the 3mos nutritionist visits. My coordinator stated to me that she wouldn’t submit my paperwork for approval until she made sure all I’s were dotted and T’s were crossed. I was approved very quickly! Paperwork submitted on June 25th and approved on June 29th.

You are welcome! I completed all the requirements from both insurance and surgeon office on June 21 and my paperwork was submitted to FedBCBS on June 25, they approved my surgery on June 29th. My nuts visits where not with a preferred provider she was a participating provider and my doctor's office wrote off all visits. Actually with surgeon I’m seeing I've only paid one time which was my initial visit and my psych visit cost me $35.00, so far I have came out on top.

Hey ladies... If you ladies go on www.fepblue.org and then click on the Benefits + Services tab, you will see a pdf format of the benefits booklet, that is across the board for all federal employees. The benefits refer to the Basic and Standard plan.. I hope this helps..

QOTD: Do you have any major award planned for yourself along the way down the scale or at the end? There is the most beautiful Tiffany & Co. Black Onxy Bracelet and Necklace that has my name on it, waiting to come home to momma..LOL.. It's mine after this surgery... :wub: QOTD- what diets have you tried before eventually deciding on the sleeve??? Did any of them work for you?? Too many to name and they worked but gained it plus some all back. Plus I'm sick & tired of pains in my knees and taking blood pressure pills. I just want to be healthy, pills and pain free!!

I was approved by FEP BCBS!! My paperwork was sent in for approval on June 25th and they approved my surgery on June 29th.. I am so darn happy!!! Being that I don't want surgery until next month, pre-op is schedule for Aug 22 and surgery is Aug 30.. July was my last holiday to eat whatever I wanted. Labor holiday I will be a newer, healthier me... Working on NO MORE BP pills...
