Oops! Sorry y'all. I meant LaHacienda on Preston Rd. NOT Pappasitos!
-
Sorry for the late post. I had an urgent family thing that came up and I’m just now home and getting to this. Okay, ladies everything is set for tomorrow. Let’s all meet outside the front door of Pappasitos on Preston Rd. at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. I e-mailed each of you my cell phone number. If you are running late or aren’t coming, please text me. I look forward to meeting y’all!

How's This For 'fried' Food?
Back~To~Amy replied to theoldmusicbox's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Sounds good to me. I'm a big fan of spray butter but never thought of using it that way. I will now. -
When you say semi-physical, are you talking about lifting things? I had a 10 pound limit until 6 weeks out. I would be worried about lifting much more than that at 3 weeks out.

I used to be automatically subscribed to a post if I made the post or if I commented on someone else's post. However, today that isn't the case. Did something change and I'm just now figuring it out?
-
I'm glad to know that at least it's just not me. It's hard to remember to subscribe to each post afterward though. I hope it gets fixed soon! Edit...I just figured out you have to subscribe to a post each time you comment on it.

I'm 8 weeks, 2 days out and can chug water just like I did preop. I've been able to for a few weeks now.

Good deal. You can join us. We have some others in our group that didn't have surgery in June.
-
The group Toni and I are a part of is a June sleeves group. If you wanna join, send me a pm on how to find you on FB. I would need to add you as a personal friend then I could add you to the group.

Yeah, I think we can offer support without name calling even if someone made a decision that could cause death. Someone wise once told me there is a right way and a wrong way to say the exact same thing and I don't think the right way was said being that it involved name calling. You are not an idiot. You have a disease. An addiction to food. Just like a drug addict has to drugs. And, on that note, there are many dead drug addicts amd alcoholics who ingested something they shouldn't have just like you did and it killed them. Trust me, I see it almost daily in my job. Hang in there! Remember, this time in your life is only temporary. You will get past it and back to eating solids soon. Best of luck to you.

Oh, and let's all meet outside by the front door since we don't really know who we're looking for yet. :-). I will send y'all my cell number except you Toni since you have it. If you decide not to come or you are running late, please text me so we know whether or not to wait on you.

Okay y'all. It's final. Saturday at 1:00 pm at Pappasitos on Preston Rd.

Okay, Toni. I just need to hear from you. Amanda and Jacqi responded and are okay with the change of venue.

Post Op Pain Killer
Back~To~Amy replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people have very little to no pain and take no pain killers once they come home from the hospital. Others, like me, have a lot of it. I was on prescription pain meds until 4 weeks out. I even called my doctor at 3 weeks out crying in pain and was told that some people have bad pain that long. -
When you say normally are you talking about the type or amount of food. You will be able to eat normal foods again but maybe not all of them. Some have intolerance to some foods. You won't ever be able to eat the amount you did but the amount you can eat early out will increase a bit over time.

Post Op Pain Killer
Back~To~Amy replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a lot of postop pain. I was given liquid when I left the hospital but it wasn't strong enough so my doctor called in a pill format that was stronger. I just cut it in half and took it. I had no problems at all. -
Sudden Hopelessness.......
Back~To~Amy replied to Justine13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What makes your liver bigger is when it has to process carbs. Eating low carb consistently for a period of time will shrink your liver which is accomplished by most of us on our preop diet right before surgery. Some do a total liquid preop diet and some, like me, got limited high Protein, low carb foods along with Protein shakes. -
What you are going through is completely normal. Try using a heating pad or one of those peel and stick pads that warm up along with a support garment. If you are a woman, get a spanx type garment that goes up high, as close to your breast area as possible. If you're a man, I'm sorry I don't know the equivalent. I hope you feel better soon!

Congrats and welcome to the other side and to VST. Best of luck in your journey! -
I'm actually documenting my journey taking pics every 4 weeks. You should take some too. You don't have to share them but you might want to one day. Till then, keep them private. I know people have said they regret not doing so.
