I have the original Fitbit but haven't really used it much. However, I am really going to start concentrating on my cardio and my question surrounds that. I get that the Fitbit can track distance based on the number of steps taken over the course of a day. Is there a way to set it just to track distance for a specific workout during that day?

Sounds like a great meal. It does seem hard to eat so little and pay so much. I've pretty much resigned myself to that fact that it's gonna happen. If I get something super healthy, I will probably bring home leftovers. If its not super healthy, the leftovers are going home with someone else or remaining at the restaurant.

Help: Did Your Preop Diet Make You Sick?
Back~To~Amy replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is the increased protein Nd very low carbs you are eating. I hope you feel better soon! -
I wonder if something else is going on. It seems you should be able to eat more that you can. I had surgery June 5th and I personally know 2 others who did too and we all eat more than you do at this point. You might think about running this by your doctor. Good luck to you!

Question To Old Timers
Back~To~Amy replied to vnjones's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am not an old timer but wanted to comment. I hope you don't mind. I a, part of a weekly support group run by a psychologist who is very involved with obese people and WLS people. He said the number one reason people aren't successful with the sleeve, either losing weight or maintaining it, is because of grazing. So, my advice to you is to work on stopping that. It is a very slippery slope. Good luck to you! -
I will be 9 weeks on Tuesday and have had both watermelon and cantelope without any issues. What our sleeve tolerates and doesn't tolerate is very individual. I would wait awhile and try again when you are a little further out and see what happens.

Hiatal Hernia And Vsg At The Same Time
Back~To~Amy replied to njbrittany's topic in Insurance & Financing
I'm not in your area so I can't recommend a doctor. However, I wanted to tell you to be very careful with this. Hiatel hernia repair is an outpatient procedure unless there are complications from it. VSG usually requires an inpatient stay of 1 to 2 days. Those 1 to 2 hospital days plus the doctor, anesthesia, pathology and operating charges for the portion related to the VSG could end up costing your daughter more than cash pay would. Hopefully, someone who did this will come along and post their experience. Good luck to your daughter. -
What you ate going through is normal. Know that it does get better. Focus mostly on liquids this early out. You have plenty of time to work on protein later. I'm only 8 1/2 weeks out and really have no issues with any type of food. A pornography people don't so you will most likely be able to eat what you like soon.

I would say that so long as your pain is under control, you should be fine. Even if it isn't totally gone, it will only be temporary. I say go for it! Congrats on it, btw!

I Will Call My Dr, Monday
Back~To~Amy replied to lovelyladynhouston's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Tracey. -
That us totally normal according to my doctor. I had intense pain until I woke up on the day of my 4th postop week anniversary. That day, and ever since, my pain is completely gone.

Wow! 1500 calories is a lot. I'm 8 1/2 weeks our and there is no way I could consume that much. Also, at a support group I was at the other day, the leader (a doctor) was talking about averaging 1200 calories on maintenance. I would check again with your doctor.

Congrats on your success! Keep it up!

A Ball Of Emotions- 3 Days Until Surgery Day!
Back~To~Amy replied to Prissy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there and welcome to VST. You've found a wonderful place for support. I had surgery 8 weeks & 4 days ago and can't be happier. I started at 304 and am now down 46 pounds. Prior to surgery, my whole body hurt all the time and I had zero energy. I'm still way overweight but it is amazing what losing 46 pounds has done for me. I only have aches and pains occasionally and they aren't near as bad. My energy level and overall stamina is way up too. I think you've made a great decision to be sleeved and you will feel amazing once you heal from the surgery. I had lots of postop pain issues but others had no issues at all. It's hard to say what your experience will be. However, even with all the pain I would go through it again in a heartbeat! If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. Good luck to you in your journey! -
I was in full liquids from the day I was discharged from the hospital.
