    Premier Protein And Gummie Vitamins

Thanks Lisa. I don't plan on getting anymore for now. I will go through more than half of them during my preop. I plan on trying to do different things with them to keep things interesting.....if that is even possible. ~Amy

    Premier Protein And Gummie Vitamins

I bought two cases today. With the one case I bought almost a week ago I'm good to go for my preop diet. I'd love to stock up for my postop diet, but I fear my tastebuds might change.

Got My Date! (Any Other June Sleevers?)

I'm June 5th. I'm excited but I'm dreading my two week preop diet!
  9. For me, I question this too. There is such a stigma of this being the easy way out. I used to think it was the cheater's way. I think too that people don't understand if you don't work your sleeve, you won't lose much weight let alone keep it off. I think people look differently at people who had WLS if they gain their weight back because " how could you do that? You had surgery after all!". I also feel like their is a stigma that you are weak if you can't control your weight without surgery. I have told my family members who I am close too. I've told only a very few people at work. I know the others will notice the drastic weight loss amd while I like the idea of saying eating less and exercising more to the how did you do it, I still feel that I'm being dishonest. Best of luck to you!
  10. I too worry about not being successful with this. I think most people do. Heck, I think our brains are conditioned to think this due to all the failed diets prior to taking the surgery route. I plan on getting into counseling to work on the issue behind why I eat. "Funny" thing is I have no idea why other than I just love food. However, they (whoever they is) say there are reasons. Best of luck to you in your journey!

No Longer Hot? Omg This Is Awesome!

Glad you got some relief. I've been hoping weight loss will do the same for me. It brings me hope when I see posts like yours. Thanks for posting. ~Amy
  13. Protein pills do exist. However, as someone pointed out, they contain very little protein so you'd end up having to take a butt load of pills. If you are having trouble finding something you like, try Premier Protein shakes. They are ready to drink and you can buy chocolate and vanilla at Sam's or costco. strawberry, as well as the other two favors, can be bought on line. I am an extremely picky eater/drinker and cannot stand any artificial sweetener. But these things are great! Well, at least the chocolate one is. I haven't tried the other two favors yet. Good luck to you!

No Longer Hot? Omg This Is Awesome!

If I was forced to pick only one reason that I want to lose weight, it would be because of my heat intolerance. My body HURTS constantly due to the extra weight. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a myriad of complaints all due to my weight, but my heat intolerance is ridiculous. I also live in Texas which is not a good place when you can't handle the heat. Heck, I can't even do something as simple as getting ready in the morning without breaking out in a sweat. And, what's crazy about that is I keep my air in the lower 70's. I spoooo would rather be cold any day. You can always add clothes. You can't always do the opposite when you are hot. And, even when I can get naked, I still sweat with very little activity.

    Terrible New Habit

I respect your opinion and apologize if I read something in it that I shouldn't have. Either way, we all know any kind of disorded eating isn't good. Take care and best of luck to you on your journey!

Thanks for this Wheetsin. I just made a post asking if it can be pinned so we have one central location to add MFP usernames too. They could pin this one since you consolidated the names so far. However, if they pin mine, we can copy and paste your list there. BTW, I'm BackToAmy on MFP

    Terrible New Habit

With all do respect your comment sounds like a justification of this eating disorder. Eating disorders, like other addictions, are listed in the medical diagnostic manuals as psychiatric disorders. The actions of these psychiatric disorders have negative effects on our bodies. I agree that gum starts the digestive process. However, you aren't missing getting nutrients when you spit out gum as you are when you spit out food. Also, if you Google it, you can find people talking about stomach ulcers, rotting teeth and other issues from it just as people who suffer from anorexic and bulemia do. I hope anyone doing this seeks help if they need to in order to stop this behavior. It is dangerous to your body. Best of luck to everyone on their journey to a healthier self!

    Terrible New Habit

It is an eating disorder if it becomes something done on any regular and consistent basis. The danger of it is when you start chewing, your stomach starts to produce all the acids to breakdown what you are about to swallow. If nothing is swallowed, there is nothing for the stomach to breakdown except itself. I read something a long time ago and, to my best recall, this is what it said. If you Google it, I'm sure you can find out all kinds of info on it. ~Amy

    Are You A Chugger?

I am a Water chugger and have worried about controlling that once I am postop. I recently bought one like this only in pink: http://www.camelbak.com/Sports-Recreation/Bottles/2012-Groove-Insulated-6L.aspx It has a bite valve. The part you drink from is a pliable plastic. Think baby bottle nipple. Anyway, it come with a straw which I immediately removed. All you have to do is raise the bottle up like you would any water bottle without one. There is still some sucking but not like you would if it had a straw. I dont know how much water you'd get if you left the straw in but without it, it greatly reduces the amount of water you take in thus you don't chug. Perfect solution for me. You might wanna try one of these water bottles if you having trouble with chugging.

How Do I Manage My Nutrition On Vacation?

I'm still preop but had a thought about Protein. Why don't you pack Protein powder and Protein Bars in your suitcase? ~Amy

    Protein Recipes

I see a lot of recipes out there that tell you how much Protein powder to put in the shake which is great if you use powder. The only protein I've found that I like is a ready to drink protein. Is there a way to know how much protein liquid in my shakes is in terms of scoops? In other words, if a recipe calls for.one scoop of chocolate powder, how much of my liquid chocolate protein is that? I hope this makes sense. Thanks! ~Amy
  23. Thanks for posting this. It was a very good read and to tell you the truth, it makes a whole lot of sense to me.
