I've been taking pills since 3 days postop and have no issues with them.

Thanks. The regimen the PA seems to be helping especially wearing a binder.

A Date That Will Live In Memory
Back~To~Amy replied to mverges's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have my experiences documented on my blog if you care to read the, also, I have useful information on the side bars of my blog. You have to be on a laptop or desktop though to see that information or select the web view version on your mobile device. I think that will work too. Anyway, I bought something called a journey ring for the journey I'm on. I think the journey name in the ring is more about a relationship journey, but I didn't care. I'm on a journey and thought the ring was perfect. It is sterling silver with white sapphires and it is beautiful. You can see it here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0064B5SGU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01 -
Would You Do It Again For Just 70 Pounds To Lose?
Back~To~Amy replied to JLOR's topic in The Gals' Room
Let me guess.....those people who all think you should try this or that diet are skinny or at least aren't too overweight. Those people truly cannot understand the battle that overweight people have with food. Or, if they are obese, they haven't already tried and failed this diet and that diet. I don't think anyone here would have had or would be considering having WLS if they truly didn't feel it was necessary and the only way to achieve weight loss. I totally understand wanting the support of others, but no one knows you and what is best for you more than yourself. I would thank the people who make these comments and move on. Or, you could just ask them why they think you would you put yourself through surgery if you could do it through a diet. I wouldn't even discuss which diets you've tried so they can't come back with some other "miracle diet". Best of luck to you in your journey. We are all here to support you so consider yourself very welcome here. -
I'm 3.5 weeks out and can't start uncooked veggies until after 6 weeks. I can still have other crunchy snacks. Simce im eating cery puttle, I do allow myself some carbs in the form of crackers or, my favorite, pretzel thins. A little farther out on my list is to have pork skins and soy nuts. Also, you might try Googling low carb snacks for some ideas.

June 2012 Sleevers Post Op Check In
Back~To~Amy replied to robin33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There are many factors that go into how quickly or slowly that we lose weight. Things like your age, your starting weight, your sex, your genetics, what and how much you eat, the amount of exercise you get. Anyway, I think you get the idea. The great news is you have lost weight and you are heading in the right direction. Just keep on keepin' on and you will get there. Congrats on your weight loss so far and best of luck to you as you continue this journey. -
Sometimes you can't see the link to my blog in my signature. Here is a link to it: http://myjourneytoamy.blogspot.com/ I would suggest looking at it on a desktop or laptop. There are helpful links on the sidebar that you can't see on a mobile device. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to share anything I know from my journey. Best of luck to you in your journey. I look forward to seeing you around.

Thanks for checking in with me Mama. I ended up attempting to go onto work yesterday and called and they connected me to the PA. She was awesome and she knew I hurt because crying a bit. She assured a lot of people hurt worse after going back to work and I had nothing to worry about as far as any complications. She called me in an additional medicine, Flexiril, to help with the muscle pain. She told me to take that, my maximium pain dose, some nausea medicine, put on a binder and use a heating pad and she wants me to do that at bedtime every night for awhile. I ended up leaving my office after an hour yesterday as I was dying in pain. I stopped by my pharmacy and got my Flexeril and came home and did what the PA said. Since I got home so early, I was actually able to take the meds twice. Today, I feel much better. I am going to take it way easy this weekend though and follow the PA's advice. Thanks again for asking! Best of luck to you in your journey.

Thanks for your response. I did feel blown off today and I probably should have been more assertive. I just felt like maybe I'm being a wimp even though I've been told by more than one doctor that I have a high pain tollerance. The hot bath did help somewhat. It bright my pain down from around an 8 to a 3 or 4. I'm still not comfortable enough to fall asleep though. If my pain doesn't continue to to down, I might call the emergency line and see if they can call me in some pain meds to the nearest 24 hour pharmacy. Thanks again.

How Are All The June Sleevers Doing Since Surgery?:
Back~To~Amy replied to Addison's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Addison. Love your name! I had surgery on June 5th at Forest Park by Dr. Nick Nicholson. The folks at FP were all so wonderful. I couldn't have asked for better care. Check out my blog. I've documented my journey pretty much from the time I decided to have the VSG surgery. I also am now uploading all kinds of useful information pages on there too. Also, we are starting a DFW support group to meet up in real life. If you'd live in the area and want to be part of it, send me a pm with your email, phone number and some info about you that you want to share with the group. I will be sending out a chart to everyone in the group with all the group members information. Finally, there is a secret facebook group for June Sleevers. I can email you a link to it if you're interested. Good luck to you in your journey! You will LOVE your sleeve. It's definitely become my favorite body part! -

So sorry to hear you didn't have your surgery. However, thank God they discovered your A Fib when they did as something worse could have happened to you. You will have your VSG surgery soon enough. Take care! -
Hi Christi. Welcome to VST. The people around here are so super supportive and helpful no matter what stage of your journey you are in. I look forward to seeing you around and following your journey. Best of luck to you!

Why Won't My Brain Let Me See The Loss?
Back~To~Amy replied to Dooter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is totally normal and it takes quite awhile for you to see it. Seeing ourselves smaller takes so much longer than it does for others to see it. It really is brain thing and logically you know you should see it but your brain just can't compute it yet. In time though you'll see it. -
Irritabilty And Energy
Back~To~Amy replied to TheNewSusie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think my energy picked up around day 5. Hang on there. It does get better. -
What you are going through is totally normal and it is most likely head hunger. You really just have to grin and bare it. There really is no way to get through it. For me, this liquid postop diet has been so much harder than the preop diet. Thank goodness mushies start today!
-
I want a pickle too. Do they come on the mushies stage or after that. I don't see anything in my paperwork about them.
-
-
From what I understand, straw use causes gas. I'm only 19 days out and have not had any issues with gas since very early out. I've used a straw several times since surgery without any issue.

11 Days Post Op - Not Really Getting Full
Back~To~Amy replied to Ssilian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Liquids and soft foods tend to be what's called slider foods meaning they slide right through your sleeve thus not giving you that full feeling. I'm still on liquids and, like you, can consume more that I thought I should be able to. From what I've read, true restriction will be felt as soon as you eat a solid. -
