I'm 32 days postop and I never have the physical feeling of hunger. I still do have head hunger, but mostly only when I'm bored. If I get busy doing something, I can so easily forget about food. Since I've returned to work and now have a more regular schedule, I've noticed that come lunch time I'm never ready to eat. I'm still 100% satisfied from breakfast. I basically eat because I know I need to. Prior to surgery, I was either always eating or obsessing about what and when I could eat again. I love that food is not ruling my life like that now. It's as freeing as quitting smoking was 6 1/2 years ago. I'm in control and not my addictions. Love it!

Its Official...the Dog Eats Better Than I Do...
Back~To~Amy replied to Patrick Curl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah Patrick, I'm sure many dogs eat better than we do. I have a cat who loves to eat just about anything. If you know anything anout cats, you know that is so not normal for a cat. To gove you an idea of how "abnormal" she is, her favorite food is pasta. She will sit in the kitchen with me while I am cooking it and just meow and meow until its time to eat. Anyway, she never wanted to "eat" with me when I was on liquids. She was "forced" to be on this diet with me and she isn't fat. Poor thing was so happy when we got to finally eat food again. We still haven't had pasta though! -
Sorry you are struggling with self-image right now. For what it is worth, I think your profile pic is beautiful! Take care.

Has Anyone Ever Regretted Having Surgery? Be Honest?
Back~To~Amy replied to Karen2012's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Karen- I'm sorry you are going through a rough time. I only ever regretted the surgery when my pain was out of control early on. I'm only 32days postop, but I've already figured out that the only thing the surgery did was limit the amount of food I can take in. It didn't fix my mental issues with food. The fact that my brain still craves food and it still craves a lot of it. I'm trying to take this journey one day at a time and learn to deal with and come to terms with my mental issues with food. As you progress to having less food restrictions, it does get easier. Good luck to you! -
It is totally normal. I was given a prescription for an acid reducer to take it twice daily. I've been lucky though. I've had no issues at all with it. If you can't get control of it with OTC medicine, call your doctor about prescription strength acid reducer. I hope you feel better soon. Take care!

Have Doubts? Dont Dr Kelly Is Amazing
Back~To~Amy replied to heatherinoregon's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Good to hear you had such a positive experience. Over and over I see such positive posts about Dr. Kelly, his staff and Omar. While I was sleeved in the U.S., I think Dr. Kelly is a good choice for those looking into having surgery in Mexico. Best of luck to you on your journey! -

10 Days Out And I Can't Eat As Much As I Did In The Recovery Room

I'm confused. You ate in the recovery room? What did you eat in recovery and what are you eating now that you can eat as much as? -

Cheated On Preop Diet
Back~To~Amy replied to blondechelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Obviously, you know you should try and not cheat. You sure don't want your doctor to get in there to do the surgery and back out because your liver hasn't shrunk enough. There was a girl on here awhile back who posted about that happening to her. If you do cheat (and I'm not advocating that) don't cheat with a high carb meal. Carbs is what keeps your liver from shrinking. I agree with the other poster that you should still be fine though. The preop diet does get easier. I promise. Hang in there and before you know it, you won't be craving carbs and you'll have tons of energy. Best of luck to you in your journey. -
Yeah, it sounds like plantar fasciitis to me but only a doctor can tell you for sure. I have it in both feet but successfully have it under control. I stretch my feet a lot. I put the ball of my foot on the edge of my bathtub and push down as hard as I can on tje top pf my knee. It stretches that muscle that runs from your heel to the ball of your foot. Also, you can use ice on it. Oh, and shoes without good support like sandals will aggravate it. Running and walking can too. It is a pain to get under control but with diligence you can. I'm even to the point of being able to wear sandals again.

We are, or at least I am here because the post comes up in the list of current threads and the title caught my attention. :-)

Mulitvitamins Make Me Sick!
Back~To~Amy replied to kamrie37's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't know how far out you are or if you ate able to take pills. I had to get another pain med 4 days out and my doctor had no problem with my request for a pill so long as my sleeve could handle it. It handled it fine and I've been taking all my meds and vitamims/supplements in pill form since. I hope you feel better soon. -
So It Has Been 5 Months Wow!
Back~To~Amy replied to Tshaunda's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow Tshaunda! Congrats on your success so far. You are rockin' your sleeve. Keep up the great work. -
I think the support you can get could be good. However, as one poster pointed out, you probably won't be able to eat the number of points you'd be given. You can learn a lot about nutrition though. Be careful about telling them you had surgery. I've seen quite a bit of negatives posts about WLS on the WW support boards. I think the presumption is that WLS is the easy way out. To their credit, I used to think surgery was the easy way out too. That is, until I became more educated. Good luck to you.
