I am 5 weeks, 2 days postop and have had zero true hunger. I've had some head hunger, but mainly during my 3 week postop liquid diet. Are you sure it's true hunger. It could be head hunger, thirst or an over production of acid. However, make sure you ate getting enough protein and calories. Lack of either could leave you hungry.

Be very careful of Protein bullets. I've been told by my nutritionist that they contain collegen protein and we need whey protein. Even the ones touted as being whey protein have more collegen protein than whey protein. Therefore, when you look at the label and it says 40 grams of protein, the majority of it is still collegen protein and not whey protein. Good luck to you. I am 5 weeks 2 days and still struggling with protein.

Time Off From Work?

I was on short term disability. The first 5 days I had to use vacation or not get paid if I didn't have vacation time. Thankfully, I have plenty. Anyway, after that, the short term disability kicked in and I was paid my usual pay for the rest of the time I was out. Check with your employer to see if you have short term disability. -

Ice from Sonic. I think I overdosed on it during my postop liquid phase. -
Another Step Taken Toward My Sleeve! :) Socal Kaiser Process

I have respect for all of you that have had to jump through insurance hoops. I have crappy bariatric benefits so much so that it was cheaper to go cash pay, believe it or not. Yes, I had to pay more than what people using insurance do. However, the huge benefit was how quickly the process went. I made the decision to have the surgery the very end of March. I had sinus surgery April 10th, went to a seminar and met with the surgeon within a couple of weeks after that and they were ready to give me a surgery date of May 15th. I ended up scheduling for May 22nd. Due to a couple of issues, I ultimately ended up having surgery on June 5th. -
Just wanted to say good luck tomorrow. You are on your way to a new you! Check in when you can and let is know how you are.

I know the feeling. I'm 5 weeks out today. Part of me can't believe it's been that long ago. Another part of me feels like it was so long ago.
-
I lost 14.2 during my 2 week preop diet. During my first month postop I lost 21.6. I'm five weeks out today and have lost a total of 40 pounds.

Congrats on your journey so far. It sure looks like you are getting close to your surgery. Exciting, huh? -
Nope, at least not that I know of. If I had it they took it out before I woke up in recovery.
-
Congrats on your success so far. That is awesome! Best of luck as you continue your journey.

That's great! Keep on keepin' on girl.
