Anybody Else Very Nervous About The Surgery And The Strict Diet Afterwards?
Back~To~Amy replied to vssupermodel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was worried about the preop diet and the liquid portion of the postop diet. Here I am off restriction since this past Tuesday and I can't believe the 8 weeks (2 preop, 6 postop) have passed. I really doubted making it through it all but I did. Remember the big picture and that the diet restrictions are only for a small time in the whole scheme of life. Believe in yourself! You CAN do this! -

I will be tallying our votes tomorrow evening to see what the consensus is. As soon as I know I'll email the group. On another note....are any of yall drinking the chocolate premier Protein shakes? Since surgery, they are too sweet for me. I have a bunch I'd like to give to one or more of y'all at our get together. Message me if you are interested in them. -
I'm another one with low vitamin D. When mine was first discovered, my level was 7 and I think its supposed to be over 50. I was on a prescription vitamin D and my levels came up somewhat so I was switched to the OTC vitamin D. You agent alone. Take care.

Which iPad do you have. I recently upgraded from the first one to the third one. I had to delete the app quite a bit on the first iPad bit haven't had to since I upgraded a week ago. I wonder if there is a connection to which iPad version you are using.

Welcome to VST. You will find lots of information and support here. I'm probably biased, but I think this board is the best support board out there. Best of luck to you on your journey.

I'm 6 1/2 weeks out and haven't tried salad yet. I'm too scared to because the other day I had a tiny bit of lettuce in something I ate. The food was something I'd eaten before just without the lettuce so I know it was that. Let's just say the potty and I were good buds for awhile.

Bowel Movement After Surgery
Back~To~Amy replied to ImprovedDreamerGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's the test some have to do to check for leaks. You have to swallow a liquid and then have a scan. Thankfully, I didn't have to do this. My doctor did my leak test while I was still under anesthesia. -
In reality we all know that we "don't wake up skinny". However, when you spend much time here, I think you get a skewed vision of how your own weight loss should go. To me, it always seemed like everyone was losing weight at rapid speed but me. In reality though, that isn't true. I still struggle with comparing my weight loss to others and thinking I'm not losing enough. As a matter of fact, I just had my 6 weeks postop visit and I went in hoping I'd lost enough. Ya know, lost what they think I should have. Anyway. I saw the P.A. And she was very happy with what I'd done. Try to not compare yourself to others. It's hard, I know. And remember, this is a journey and you will lose the weight if you follow the rules. You are so early out that your body is still regulating itself. It will all work out. Congrats on your weight loss so far. Take care!

It good that you ate going to reevaluate after you have surgery since there is no answer to this. One person may be okay while another, at a week out, may not be. Good luck to you!

Congrats and welcome to the other side!

That great! Keep up the awesome work!

I am 6 weeks out and was told that I have no restrictions. Well, except carbonated beverages which are a no no for life At my appointment today I was told to eat very little of things that expand in your stomach. Popcorn was one of the examples I was given that does that. Also, PDXman pointed out the most important thing. The hills could get caught in your staple line. That would be detrimental to your health.

When Can I Go Swimming Post Surgery?
Back~To~Amy replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said it varies because he releases his patients to bathe and swim once their incisions are healed. -
Where Do You Feel Full?
Back~To~Amy replied to jeniferdann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is really good for someone like me to know. I'm 6 weeks out and I get a pressure in the center of my chest between my breasts. Knowing this, I'll pay attention for other signs. -
Congrats!
