    Ugh!

I've heard it is normal but thankfully, I didn't get that way. I've also heard that it will pass. Hang in there and remember that this is only temporary. You can do it and you will make it through it.
  3. I'm not sure that your whole body hurting would be considered a comorbidity. However, I thought that insurance required a comorbidites if you were at a lower BMI. I would think that being 150 pounds overweight alone would be enough. Have you called your insurance to see what they tell you? You may not have any comorbidites now, but at 150 pounds overweight, you likely will soon. To me, the insurance would be saving money by not having to pay for medical expenses for issues you are certain to develop down the road. I hope they get everything straightened out soon and you get the approval you deserve.

    Help!

  5. If you had surgery with Dr. Nick and/or at Forest Park Medical Center, I have a couple of questions: 1.) How long did you stay in the hospital? 2.) Did someone have to bring you your stuff after you went to a room? The paperwork I got said I wouldn't be assigned a room until after recovery and there was no place safe to store personal stuff until a room was assigned. 3.) Did you have an external drain? If so, when was it removed? 4.) What was given to you for pain when you went home? I cannot think of anything else, but if you have anything thoughts you think might be useful to me, I welcome those comments too. If all works out with work, I have a date. May 29th! Yikes! This is getting really real now. Thanks in advance for any comments!
  6. You look awesome. Congrats on your success!

    Post Surgical Fever?

At discharge, I was told a low grade fever in the first few days after surgery was normal. I too was told to call of it went over 101 degrees. If you are concerned, please call your doctor. Take care!

    Low Energy.

You can't do too much as early out as you are. Listen to your body. If it says rest, then rest. Don't over do it. Your energy will increase with time. As far as protein goes, that takes time. I don't think there were many getting in all their protein so early out. Heck, I'm 6 weeks and 4 days out and still struggle getting all mine in. Good luck to you!

    Wishing I Could.....

I sent you a PM so we don't end up "high jacking" this thread. :-)
  10. Woooooo Hoooooo! You go girl! A big, huge congrats to you!
  11. Thanks for checking. Try again. I think I got it right now.
  12. The votes are in and counted and I just sent an e-mail out to everyone. However, I'm not sure it went out. Can one of y'all check your e-mail and post here and let me know if you got it or not? Thanks!
  13. Blondeej gave me an idea when she started the new thread for those of us in a stall. How about one of us starts a new thread each month as a cental locale for us all to hang out and chat? We could title it like I did this one, June Sleever's - July. Next month will be June Sleever's - August and so on. That way, it will keep one thread from becoming too long. So, how is everyone doing and what's going on in your world? I am finally feeling "normal" with the exception that I can no longer stuff my face with a ton of food. I've had a lot of issues with pain but that has now resolved so I am looking forward to starting an exercise regime....at least a cardio one. I'm not sure I'm clear for weights yet. I have my 6 week follow up on July 18th so I will be sure to find out then. I hope all you other June girls and guys (or is it just our one guy, Dadto2?) are doing well.

    Insurance Medical Board

Wow! I haven't heard of that before.

    Insurance Medical Board

Sounds like individual insurance as you shouldn't have a pre-ex clause with group insurance through your employer. If you are thinking of getting another individual policy, you will likely to be subject to another pre-ex clause. You are probably better to wait put your current coverage.

    Fruit Smoothie

I was just recently released to have fruit again. I simply cannot stand my protein shakes that I used preop. They are just too sweet. I was thinking about using some unflavored protein powder in a fruit smoothie but really have no experience with making a smoothie so I'm here for advice. I don't really want recipes. I want advice on the basics of making them. Do you just throw in ice, protein powder, fruit and milk and blend or is there a better way? Also, I don't really care for yogurt. Would the fruit hide the aftertaste of it? Does the fruit hide the taste of unflavored protein powder? Thanks in advance for any help, tips, suggestions!

    Insurance Medical Board

Is your insurance through your employer or individual coverage you took out? I'm in insurance so I have a bit of knowledge on this. Can you give me more details on the pre-ex denial?
