    How Many Slips?

Thanks Emelie! Is it me, or should there be a handbook given to us by the makers of the band, Realize or whomever? I know communication is key with the docs office and we go in frequently, but there's so much to know.

    How Many Slips?

Those of you that have had slips, was there something that caused them to do so? My doc told me excessive vomiting could cause it, like if you have the GI flu, food poisoning, etc

    22 Pounds Down!

I was banded 4/18 and I've lost 14 lbs since that day. It's about to slow down though. I'm getting hungrier....

    Inpanic Mode, Please Help.

I would be quite upset too! Was there a reason for the CT, endoscopy and colposcopy?

    Is Very Hard

I hope you have someone around to help you after tomorrow too. Day three was the most uncomfortable for me. It differs for all of us. Good luck.

    Eat All Day Long!

I was told you can only absorb 20g of protein in an hour at my MD office. 40g sounds better!

    Is Very Hard

Are you asking if it's hard to be pregnant or is it hard to take care of your kids postoperatively. I have two boys under 20 months and I had surgery last week. My mother and MIL helped me for the first four days, God bless them. I was sore, it was hard to carry, feed, care for them. After the first few days I've had no problems being by myself all day. Although I'm not supposed to lift greater than 25 pounds...

April Is A Good Time To Change

I agree, the gas is a B word. It was so bad over the weekend I seriously thought part of my bowel was paralyzed and I had convinced myself they'd have to remove my band to drop an NG tube. (im a nurse but not in the bowel department so in reaching way back in the memory banks I'm sure my details were off). Anyway, I'm eating small amounts of soft mushies and I don't know how it helps, but it really does. my bowel has something to push through and it seems a lot less angry in there. Good luck, gas X strips might help too.

    Woozy?

I thought a white tongue was an indicator of thrush but we have so much going on right now... could it be your bariatric vitamins?

    Woozy?

Hiyas! I'm post op day 5. While I'm sure I'm taking my supply of vitamins and supplements, water is harder. I used to slam a bunch when I'd get the chance. Now I have to learn to steadily sip it alllll daaaaay...... Anyway, I'm woozy. I'm not in a lot of pain today. Not much at all in fact, yay! But I always feel slightly buzzed, not taking any pain meds either. I was just standing in the kitchen feeding my baby and I felt like I should sit down. My visions a little blurry sometimes. Are you all feeling this too? Our bodies are going through big changes, it all makes sense. Right?
  11. Thank you Sasha for sharing your story. It does sound like you have more going on than your fair share. You're still recovering too. Our post op week one food choices are so limited. In my opinion, that's not been helping me out any. Food has always been a friend. It's always given me a big warm satisfying internal hug when I've needed it. I miss my friend. But that's what I signed up for. I'm going to have to get my satisfaction elsewhere now. Do you think missing food might be part of it too? Hugs to you.

    Banded Yesterday

I used milk of mag, suppositories, enemas, and miralax on post op day three. (all under the direction of my doc) My poor husband... Anyway, it's amazing how great a fully functioning healthy bowel will make a person feel. Best of luck NewMe
  13. Sasha, I don't know what your original post said but I've had band regret off and on, I'm post op day 5. I feel guilty. I'm sore, I'm tired, I'm woozy and I have a 24/7 responsibility that i feel like i suck at right now. My moms have been helping me with my lil boys but at times I've been totally worthless. Today it's just me and them and it's quite better. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Being a healthier, more energetic parent is priority one. I'll get there. Postop week 1 is just kinda a crappy crappy roller coaster, physically and emotionally. hang in there Sasha

April Is A Good Time To Change

Youre still in pain? Mine was placed 4/18 and I'm much better today.

    Banded Yesterday

Post op day four is the best day yet. Soreness at my belly button incision. So hungry tho. Seriously, you guys are tolerating creamy blended soups at 4 days post op? Jello curbs it only for a short time. Protein shakes too. Let me know what you guys are "eating"!!

    5Th Week Post Op

Fozzy, are you a large man or a petite woman? Caloric intake won't be the same for all of us. And exercise is a factor too.
  17. Sasha, I also had surgery Wednesday and I cannot believe how much burping is going on. They require careful concentration, and... Finesse? My pre surgical self occasionally found it quite amusing to burp as loudly and obnoxiously as possible. My mom would say I was good at it, shamefully. I doubt I'll ever be doing that again. Anyway, I'm not passing the gas down below regularly yet so I'm guessing that's why mine is coming out up top? And I know, walk walk walk. I have two babies, I'm up moving a lot.
  18. Thanks Cindysmom! Today was a pretty rough day and I'm not out of the woods yet. My GI motility is just not working for me. After a day of two types of laxatives and two enemas, i have to believe Tomorrow will be better. No regrets
