Sorry Maybe Tmi But I Need To Know!
Jepegurl replied to cbarreto's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear this can happen with protein shakes but if yours are lactose free I don't know why. I was banded 4/18 too. Yay for us!! But sorry to hear of your troubles. My bowels have been behaving since my diet has been advanced and I rarely, If ever, drink my protein now. Maybe that's something to look forward to? -
I'm three weeks post op too. Three people have told me they can tell a difference Congrats girl!

We're you having symptoms? Was there something in particular that caused it to slip? When you say "fixed" I'm assuming you elected to not have it removed? Sorry to hear about your troubles Karla

I burp a lot and it feels lovely But mine are quiet-ish and long. And yes Jean, it's hard to maintain your composure in the professional environment. Im a nurse and scheduled meal breaks aren't easy to come by so I find myself taking a bite and chewing in the halls on my way to a patients room and dangit, of course I have to burp in their room. How embarrassing!

I was banded a few weeks ago, still doing mushys. I'm noticing that things don't taste as good to me. My lite lemonade today from McDs was kinda gross. I used to be able to down one of those in no time, wishing I'd got a second one. Other foods just taste off to me. Anyone else going through this?

I am too! Tricky little gland

Thank you! I'm liking the muffin tin meal ideas on there. Easy peasy!

Well, I'm fresh post op but have you heard to chew 20 times, set your fork down between bites, and take 20-30 minutes to eat your meal? Truthfully if you aren't feeling restriction right now, it is hard to stick to 1000 cals per day and get good results. They call it "Bandster Hell". You lost weight before you got unfilled, right?

125 Members So Why Are We So Quiet???

I see a few of you are in a weight loss lull. It'll pick up though, don't you think? My scale hasnt budged much this week but this AM I was down 2 lbs. -
What would you like emailed to you? I see you asking for help

I have the tightness-pressure feeling too. I'm 2 weeks post op though and assuming its from inflammation. Truthfully I have had the sensation off and on my whole adult life. After much testing I have come to believe anxiety makes it worse. But now that I'm banded, it's alarming... Always worrying about slips

4 Days Post Op.....tired Tired Tired
Jepegurl replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two weeks post op today and my energy level is pretty normal. It probably was a few days ago. Advancing my diet from clears to mushys really helped me. And healing, giving it time did too I'm sure. Hang in there, you'll be feeling better soon -

How Do You Deal With Your Family Eating?
Jepegurl replied to Megan92877's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I actually nibbled a little on toppings, no meat. Just cheese and sauce. Wasn't even that great. Didn't feel like it was getting stuck or anything. Melted cheese isn't on my soft mushy food list so I won't be doing that anymore, I'm respecting my band and it's limitations. I think all of us fresh post ops are. My fam is going to have to start eating healthier Sasha. I have an ultra picky toddler. Hopefully he will catch on. -
Two Lovers, Trying To Meet, But Something Stands In The Way...
Jepegurl replied to SashaWLS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If fish is a well tolerated band food I'm going to have to start experimenting. Sad to say, I mostly prepare red meat or chicken in our house. I caught a clip on YouTube by BandedWendy of her baking some jumbo shrimp. It's not a soft mushy food but maybe in a few weeks it's something we could try. It looked super easy. -
Day 12 Post Opp. An Hungry
Jepegurl replied to GurlieGirl0723's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats Waldog, you're doing great! I'm 11 days post op and I'm one of the lucky ones eating soft mushys. I'm eating about 1000 cals a day and shooting for 80g of protein. I'm finally feeling full and energized. I will never doubt proteins power ever again. -
I'm post op day 11 and I've either wanted to cry or rip someone's head off for about 4 days now. I'm sure it doesnt help that "Aunt Flo" is here. I have been a lot of fun to be around, my poor husband... Fat cells and the estrogen theory really makes sense.

Huge Bummer. I guess they can possibly fix leaks? Hope you don't have to have it replaced. Good luck

Two Lovers, Trying To Meet, But Something Stands In The Way...
Jepegurl replied to SashaWLS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded the 18th too and had scrambled eggs for dinner last night. It's hard to chew those into paste consistency. But they sure filled me up! So glad to eat my protein instead of drink it. And we are just going to have to get used to stashing leftover morsels in the fridge, feeding them to pup, or watching them go down the drain. Its a strange new phenomenon but I kinda like it! I bet it's what skinny people do... -

Congrats! That's a great start. I was banded two days after you were and I'm lead to believe the worst is behind us. (usually) Day by day, we will get to where we want to be with hard work and perseverance. You're doing great!
