I Am A Turtle! The Turtle Won The Race So Why Beat Myself Up.
Jepegurl replied to brokenwings's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
And we aren't at restriction. At least I'm not. I restrict my caloric intake, most days, but I'm still hungry between meals and can eat way more than a cup of food. Looking forward to the green zone! -
I know it's important to try to wait one year to conceive but if it happened, I wouldn't stress out about it. They'll unfill you if it's a real concern, right? Congrats on your engagement! Have you set a date?

Thanks for sharing your story! I can tell you truly love and cherish motherhood. It's an amazing ride. I too had a lot of life before my babies came, I'm 36, and then they came one year apart. My youngest is 9 months old, such a sweet fun age. You'll get back to Onederland. You seem quite determined. I'm finding if I don't journal on MFP, I cheat, bad. I just got a FitBit this week too. If you want encouragement to get up and move, it does the trick! Good luck in conceiving #2. Blessings to you!

When Did Everyone Stop Taking Vitamins?
Jepegurl replied to Kami172000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc says I'll be on them for life. I have 2 cousins who have had gastric bypass- I know it's not nearly the same as us- and they're so malnourished- no vitamins. Why not keep taking them? -

Jepegurl replied to Meduseld's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Help!! Please.....fill Won't Go In Or Come Out.....?
Jepegurl replied to BayougirlMrsS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree, I don't think I'd bring it up. Hopefully all is well! -
Wow Ramona. It's amazing that you haven't need a fill until now. Wonder if your doc filled you when they placed your band? I'm 6 weeks postop and I can eat like there's no band in there. Hungry all the time. I'll get my second fill in two weeks. They put 1.5 cc in my 10 cc band the first fill. Which compared to most of you, that's not a lot. I get it, I really don't want to be too tight.

What's The Main Reason Why Some Peoples Bands Slip?

Is it because the carbonation stretches out the pouch, much like overeating? -
Post Op Questions!
Jepegurl replied to BrittanyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just swallowed my pills whole but they were about the size of an m&m. Post op day 2 was my worst pain day but I wasn't farting (TMI sorry) and I was miserable. My pain medicine was making my bowel issue worse do I stopped it. My doc told me to try aleve for a few days instead. I walked some. I'd rest for a few hours but tried to walk for 5-10 minute intervals around the house or down the street as much as I could. I was dizzy. I didn't keep track of my water intake but if I didn't pee every few hours I knew I needed to try to drink more. I understand you being hesitant to drink, not yet knowing your limits. Good luck to you! -
I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy but im always going to bed hungry. I got my first fill this week and there's just not a whole lot of restriction in the evening. It stinks. i do eat a high protein snack before bed but it's a tiny thing compared to the bag of microwave popcorn I ate before bed just a month ago.. So I'm wondering if part of my issue is head hunger? or This might just be part of "bandster hell"?

Do you feel constipated? I was postop but was really miserable, gas wasn't coming through either. I felt pregnant again. I called my doc and he suggested Milk of Magnesia and if that didn't work, Miralax. If that didn't work, glycerin suppositories and then Fleets enemas if still no results. His 5th suggestion was going to be Mag Citrate. I'd call them though. This is just what was suggested to me.

I burped constantly too, with or without using a straw. It gets better. Congrats!

I'm not in my green zone yet so I'm hoping I can keep taking my gummies once I'm there. I'm with ya on the chalky chews-yuck! I'm having trouble finding Calcium citrate chews. I have found tabs and I break them in half but I have to take 6 to 8 whole tabs, 12 to 16 half, to get my requirement. No thanks.

Calories Per Day When You Are Eating "normal" Foods/
Jepegurl replied to newme0617's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said the same. Priming usually means filling all the tubing with saline, getting the air out. He then said it was primed w/ 2cc. So... I figure I'll get more info out of the nurse next week. -

I'd say you have restriction. In fact you may need to have some fluid taken out, if there is any in there? I have heard others say that morning time is the hardest time for them to eat. so yes, you may have less pain with protein shake in the AM. Hang in there! -

I'm 3 weeks out and I'm averaging about 1200 cals per day. I'm using My Fitness Pal to keep track. But I'm getting hungrier everyday, scheduled for my first fill next Tuesday and I think I need it. No exercise yet either
